Great idea but a huge failure

We always hang a light in our cabin tent. The ceiling fan was a great idea. First of all the lighting is LED and bright enough. However, it gives off a discomforting hue. Kind of like an old fluorescent. The fan? Well, that was no good. You can’t feel anything unless you set it on a table 18 inches from your face. And that’s another thing. The pop out legs provide absolutely no support. It kept falling over. One start is the lowest rating in can select. This one is a big zero. 0

Completely Useless

Bought two of these fans to create air flow in tent during hot and humid conditions. Should have listened to other reviews. These fans despite using lots of batteries produced little air flow and I was unable to feel much air. In addition, one would think the air would flow straight out of the fans but because the fan blades are foam and not solid, at times the air went down or up from the fan instead of straight making no sense of the purpose of the fans. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. Beware of customer service. According to their representative, you have to pay a restocking fee if you ever return any item even if it’s never been opened or used.

Sick

I would recommend this. It works great in the hot night in a shelter or a tent has a great light on it. If you also need to see late night, you can pull it down to use it as a flashlight. The lamp light feature is separate from each other and everything works great.

Ok

I bought this fan only yesterday and an considering returning it. I may just have a faulty one but it won't stand up, it falls over. Power is not sufficient enough, even in our rooftop tent. Also, the magnet is not strong enough to keep it on the ceiling of the rooftop tent. Quite disappointing since I was so excited to grab one.

D Battery operated far/torch

I bought this for blackouts. It was fairly easy to work out ware to put D batteries. Has a good air speed for the size of it.

Excellent Tent Fan

Love everything about it. Love that it stands or hangs and how much air it pushes. It's our 2nd one. Don't leave the batteries in it, it ruined the battery cartridge of the first one. A battery cartridge alone is almost as expensive as a new one so we were forced to contribute to planet waste and buy a whole new fan. The alternative just wasn't cost effective

Fan OK, rechargeable battery pack NOT!

I am a huge Coleman fan and have been purchasing Coleman equipment since the 1970s. I purchased 2 of these fan/lights and 2 rechargeable battery packs. The fan works OK, but one of the battery packs could never take a full charge. By the time I figured this out and notified Coleman, they told me it was out of warranty and the battery packs have been discontinued. I would not have purchased the fan without having a rechargeable battery option. If you are considering purchasing this fan and expect a rechargeable battery option, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Does not put out enough air

We purchased one of these at the Coleman Outlet in Sevierville TN to use inside our tent while camping. It gets really humid during the July and August months here is Eastern Tenn.

[Rewarded Review] Perfect for camping!

I used this Coleman CPX 6 lighted tent fan with stand during our last camping trip last weekend. It was perfect! It provided great lighting inside our tent and air from the fan that I enjoyed the most since I’m one that needs cool air especially during sleep. It even provided me with enough lighting to use when I had to walk down to the bathrooms in the dark . It uses double d batteries that we were sure to bring extra off but it ran off of one set of batteries for the 2 days we were out camping. Super easy to setup, literally just took out of box, popped in the batteries and straight to use! The fan itself was very quiet during use. I highly recommend this for anyone needing a 2- in-1 fan/light especially for camping. Looking into getting a couple more for future trips!

[Rewarded Review] Small but powerful

What a great fan! As soon as we got batteries (not included) and turned this fan on, it was a dream. It is very quiet yet very powerful. The blades are made if foam, so no missing fingers! Don't let the foam blades fool you, they're just as powerful as plastic blades. The light on the front is amazingly bright as well. It has two settings, so if you don't want it near qs bright its suitable as well. The fan can also be fashioned to the top of a tent with a clip or very powerful magnet. This is a great little camping fan.

[Rewarded Review] A camping must-have!

Coleman® always has the most innovative and handy camping gear! And they really thought of everything with their Lighted Tent Fan with Stand! It’s awesome! First off, this fan really puts out the air. I’ve had other tent fans that I could breathe and create more air flow than they put out but this fan is sure to keep everyone cool and comfortable! There’s also a high and low fan setting that can be easily adjusted to suit the weather and your preference. I love how this fan has the option of either connecting it to the top of the tent with the magnetic plate or carabiner clip (which are both included) or you can use the stand to sit in on something. Another feature that I thought was a fantastic idea is the foam blades which are so much safer. That especially takes away so much worry when you’re camping with children. And this fan is even equipped with an LED light in the middle with both a bright and a nightlight mode. You can also use the light without using the fan and vice versa. This fan runs on batteries or you can purchase a rechargeable cartridge or a/c adaptor if you want. I’ve just been using batteries and have had no problems with them lasting through a weekend camping trip without needing to be replaced or recharged (about 20 hours of total use). Plus this happens to be one of the coolest, trendiest, stylish looking tent fans I’ve ever seen. A big thumbs up!!!

[Rewarded Review] gives a nice little breeze

The CPX 6 Lighted tent fan with stand sure does come in handy adding a nice little breeze in the tent at night. It has a high and low fan setting. It isn't loud either. The light is bright enough to light up the whole tent pretty well. It has two settings, one is a night light. The stand definitely comes in handy or you can clip it to the ceiling, whichever you prefer. It is pretty sturdy, very durable, and the fan is overall a quality product. Runs off of batteries so make sure to have extra just in case.

[Rewarded Review] Perfect outdoor fan!

This fan is amazing for the outdoors! Whether you are camping, outside lounging around, on a boat fishing, or having a picnic... this fan will keep you cool. It really puts out enough to keep you cool on a warm day. It's great for traveling, lightweight, stores away easily, and doesnt take up space. It has a ring on it for hanging. I love that it also serves as a light making it even better for camping outdoors. It runs off of batteries so it can be used whenever and wherever you are. Overall, this fan is amazing for the outdoors to keep you cool and gives you a steady wind!

Usually I am a fan of Coleman products, but I would not buy this product again and will have to replace it for next year’s camping trip. There are only two settings and the “high” setting does not put out more than a gentle breeze. It is also small in size so if you cannot hang the fan and have to put it on the floor of your tent, you cannot feel any air unless you lay flat in front of it. Any kind of sleeping pad or air mattress renders this fan useless in a tent. If hanging, it does not stay in a fixed position if you try to swivel it toward you from above. Even though you can move it, it will just hang straight down and doesn’t generate enough air flow to make a comfortable difference. The batteries only last one night if you leave it on for overnight comfort on the high setting. We went through 12 D batteries on our trip. This is also not a fan you should purchase if you want “white-noise” to help you sleep. Very disappointed in the amount spent for this fan.

If I could give this NO STARS I would.Bought this for a camping trip in a warmer climate, to help my 2 small children stay cooler at night. The packaged arrived damaged but I figured since the fan looked good, the box doesnt matter. I should have foreseen thats the beginning of the problems. I wasnt expecting it to feel like I had an A/C running on full blast but I wanted to feel at least a small breeze. Or at least enough to get the air moving in our tent so it wouldnt be too stuffy. Not only did it give out a tiny wisp of air (even an high!) it did NOT last as long as the description said it would (30 hours on low, 10 hours on high). I was lucky to get 3 hours on low and 4 on high.We fell asleep with the fan on low, only to wake up 5 hours later with the fan not even moving anymore! That was with fresh, out of the package brand new batteries.Luckily, I also brought 2 smaller battery operated fans for the kids to use at the beach and was able to use those to help keep them cool.Returning this ASAP and will get something else.

I did not like this fan very much and I usually am very happy with Coleman products. I gave it three stars because someone else might like it for the exact reasons I dont.First of all, it is too quiet. You cant hear it at all and one of the reasons I bought it was for white noise. You get no noise with this fan. Second, the light button and the fan button are very hard to distinguish even in the daylight. Trying to do anything with the buttons at night is impossible without hitting the wrong button. Third, It is very hard to handle. If you need to move it or anything your fingers will hit the fan-which is no big deal because the blades are foam and dont hurt, but it is kinda loud if you hit them. Fourth, it is in my opinion too heavy to hang from the roof of my tent. I started putting it on but it looked like it was pulling my tent in too far. I didnt trust it. Fifth the stand is worthless. I had to lean it against other items in the tent. Truly disappointed in this fan.

I felt spoiled on our last campout with this nice tent light and dual speed fan combo. It circulated the air in my two-man tent very well and definitely improved the sleeping experience. The buttons are easy to find in the dark and the fan blades are a soft flexible material so if my son decided to stick his fingers in there, then theres no risk of injury. I only stayed one night and didnt have the fan or light on full blast and I didnt leave it on the entire night, but that said the batteries lasted the whole trip and I didnt feel like it was getting weaker the next day.I will say that I think its more of a car-camping type of fan since its really bulky and heavy. That pays off because of how well it works, but we hiked a few miles in before we made camp, and the only way I could store the fan was strapped to the exterior of my pack. That worked fine but it did add some extra weight to it. If I were on a long distance backpacking trip I think it would be too bulky and heavy to bring with me. But if Im not too far from the car, then this thing is ideal!

Good Concept; Too Heavy!

I bought 2 of these to put in my Coleman 12 person Instant Tent. While the concept of a fan and light in one is great, the fact that these units require 4D batteries to operate makes them rather heavy, and they aren't light to begin with. While still at home I put up my tent and added the fans, the magnetic bracket held very well but both fans pulled at the tent enough to have me concerned they would ripe the tent fabric or stress the factory attached poles. The fans on high were fairly quiet and produced a gentle breeze on high....the low setting would be rather useless. Disappointed they are so heavy, don't seem compatible with all Coleman products, also a remote to adjust the fan speed and control the light once in bed is something they need to look at adding. I returned both to the store and am now on the hunt for another tent fan/light. Disappointed.
