We feel this globe is a bit "chintzy" for the price. It is extremely lightweight and the silver side arm is plastic. The globe does not spin freely as it has a constant click noise when spinning. Light-up feature is super cool and so far we haven't found any inconsistencies.

First off all; Very good quality product. Only thing keeping me from giving it top rating was that the film at the bottom was poorly cut for the bottom hole cut out. Also it could benefit from having a similar solution as on top with a "washer" toward the holder. I fixed both problems with a small piece of high quality 3M repair tape, holding the film in place and providing a surface on witch the globe can rest in it's holder.

A good and a necessary globe for all who want to know the basic geography of our planet! 3D helps too.

This is a birthday gift for our 6 year old son. He loves it and so do we. It shows the earth both as a planet and as a collective countries, which was the message that we wanted to pass on. It was a bit bigger than I expected but it looks beautiful with our interior. UPDATE: I am updating the last review. It has been a month since we purchased the globe, and the light bulb burned out. It seems to be replaceable, but just reducing one star for such a short bulb life.

I bought this globe for my niece and her two children of school age. Everyone loved the design, size, and illumination features. Her husband announced, "we are putting this in the living room where everyone who comes can enjoy it."

The globe is a high quality piece. The fact that is made in Italy, made me feel it is not going to be broken soon. It makes a perfect gift!

Nice globe of the earth that light up at night

As a "visual" person, the Internet has been a major disappointment when describing events taking place half a world away. Where's the "half?" This globe is a MAJOR reminder of Geography 101 back in the day. I see where things happen, and I see where I am. I love it!

This is a beautiful globe! The size is great, easy enough to read, looks accurate, well made and sturdy. When illuminated is amazingly beautiful! Love the colors!!!

This globe is fantastic. The idea to use it as geographical and political is so cool.

This globe is great in accuracy and detail. The mountains are raised. Its got little arrows showing wind streams. Color shows locations of deserts and rainforests. Its light is on all the time and reminds me to see the world. I always refer to it whenever the family and i talk about a place. Its light makes it so much better than a regular globe and totally worth it. I wish it was $60. $100 is too much, but i guess i do get that much joy out of it. So i guess it is ok. It gets dusty over time. I always just wiped it off and then one time i used windex. The windex took the print right off!! ruined it. Had to buy another. NEVER CLEAN WITH WINDEX. lesson learned. And when i bought another one i went a bought this one again. Sooo. i guess it is worth it...
