So. If you have ever assembled anything from ikea. You will recognize much of the assembly process. Better quality but similar hardware etc. I have assembled tons of stuff. This was a lot. Not hard just a lot. Little quality/design things not great. Brace inside drawers to beef up for desk top. Unfinished edges can see thru crack above drawers Also drawers don’t close quite all the way. Stick out some. A design thing not quality thing. So so. Set up. Like most of this stuff it looks good in space.

Best Furniture Store in the Houston Area

To say I'm thrilled with my purchases from AFW would be an understatement! Not only are the prices affordable but the quality of products are out of this world. Usually, you get what you pay for but with AFW it's almost too go to be true. The showroom is stocked with practically everything you see on their website. I bought a beautiful floating desk for half the price of what I was seeing at other furniture stores plus an office chair. Assembly was easy as well. My fiance and I were pleasantly surprised with the whole process. We will absolutely be furnishing the rest of our home with AFW. Overall, 10/10 experience

Great Desk!

Love this desk. The storage is nice, especially being able to have things just under the top and accessible. It is slightly taller than a normal desk, but being tall I really like it. My chair is fully extended so be aware you might need a foot rest to raise your legs up. I have since converted it to a standing desk and it looks like it was make to be a standing desk. When it's down you can't even tell that it raises.

Disposable Society at it's finest!! you cannot ever replace a part

I purchased this desk and was very happy with the look. However, over time the legs have started to pull apart breaking the back apart. While they can get the parts, they will only do so while the product is under warranty, they will not sell any parts once the warranty is up even though they are available. The online questions and Manufacturer will direct you to contact the store who will inform you that they only sell what is available in store and online. Their advice is to buy another desk. I am not interested in being that wasteful, nor supporting a company that provides no service. I would never recommend buying furniture from this store or manufacturer. I would give zero starts if possible

Great desk!

This desk arrived very fast. I unpacked and laid everything out on the floor. The instructions were ok but some of the packages were not labeled which was very confusing. As I started on a Saturday,

Good value

This is a decent desk for the money but the instructions could use a do-over! Some parts have labels missing so matching to the instructions is difficult. The illustrations are too small so placement of sliders for shelves is a challenge. BUT, once you get the hang of what they are trying to tell you everything goes together well. One thing they don't tell you is to put the metal rod file holders in before you put the drawer together. You'll need a bit of patience to do this one but it is a good desk! Delivery dates are very strange. Initially the web site said I would receive it in 5 days, then that became 14 days and that became 3 weeks, and then it arrived in 5 days. Wierd!

Instructions are Confusing.

I love the desk. It would have been 5 stars except that the assembly instructions are confusing. Step 1 should have been several steps. Also, if you're going to have picture only instructions it would be helpful to have pictures that are large enough to see details. I had to re-do the drawer glides because the instructions were confusing and I wound up putting them in backwards. The rods in the file drawer for hanging files from weren't even in the instructions at all, so I had to take the drawer apart in order to install the rods. Once it was all together it's a great desk.

Not AFW standard

In the past, I purchased a couch and coffee table from AFW. I saw both at the showroom first. I was very impressed by the price and quality of those products, and they shipped quickly and were made in the US (like the company advertises). Also when I selected the shipping option, both pieces came fully assembled.

I love this desk. Assembly was easy, but these things out of the box always seem overwhelming. I put this together in a little over an hour and it gave me no issues so it was pretty fun comparatively. I am not a fan of the handles it comes with which are chintzy and don’t seem purposeful, but I had planned to shop for replacements which were easy to do because they were standard size. I picked up these brushed nickel from home depot for less than $15 for 3 and it really elevated the look. The only negative is the back side of the drawer cubes are unfinished. The support beam is finished on both sides and it would be nice if they were as well so you could float the desk in a room. I’m planning to resurface those with a peel and stick decor paper or other material that can be applied easily to the backside. I would definitely recommend this desk as it’s held up well for me for over 2 years!

Nice and sturdy

This desk looks nice and has good size drawers for storage, two drawers for small things and a document sized drawer that can accommodate lots of paper work. It’s a nice sized desk for a small office. Shipping is right on time as promised. It wasn’t packaged well enough because it has a dent on the corner of the desk and it will be a pain in the butt to return because this desk is heavy! The instruction manual that comes with it has small pictures which makes it harder to understand the assembly process. I have to disassemble the drawers because the picture that I followed was not right. I’m glad I didn’t tighten the screws which made it easier to disassemble, so watch out for that! Overall, this desk is sturdy and nice looking. It’s made from MDF material and not real wood. If you’re looking for a desk made from real wood don’t get this.

Do not purchase if you want quality

I ordered this produce in white based on the good reviews and seemingly high quality parody based on the images shown. When it arrived the box was wrapped in bubble wrap that looked good removing the bubble wrap revealed a box full of punctures and gouges. I was hopeful what was inside wasn't damaged. We pulled the pieces out and most were fine. Though one corner of the top was mashed in a little. The most disappointing thing about this fest was the quality. I feel the images misrepresent it. I was expecting to see a very high gloss lacquer finish. What I got was a dull white orange peel... this fest is entirely particle board with a very cheap white Formica glued on. The instructions are not very clear and if I had purchased it locally or for myself it would have been returned. Very disappointed.

Beautiful Desk!

I was hesitant on purchasing this desk due to other reviews I had seen on other websites. Upon receiving the desk, you could tell they take care and package the desk well to protect it. The outside of the box was also bubble wrapped and protected when delivered. The box is huge so thank God my husband was home to bring it in. Most of the building was done by him while I helped and took a couple of hours to put together. I love the space and it seems to be very durable. Wipes easily and I use very gentle cleaners just in case. I work from home so the space is great and I can sit hours working. It's also nice and high which I like because I prefer height when working. The drawer sizes are perfect and it's great that I also have a file drawer for my work. Houzz also had the desk $100 less than other sites I visited. Very happy with my purchase! Thank you. :)

Great looking desk - Mid Century Modern look

Desk was just put together and took about 2 hours. Layed everything out and checked that everything was there first. Each board is labeled with a number which helps a lot.The glue that was included was dried out so we weren't able to use it. Not sure if that will compromise the desk in the future. One drawer door was ruined when we put the boards together and one of the plastic wood dowels went through the door and made a hole in it. Not a lot of pressure was put on it so I was surprised this happened. Have sent Houzz an email to see if I can get a replacement board (#10). Will see if they respond. Also the main desk board had a nic in it when it arrived. Not enough to send back but a bit of a pain. . . Otherwise love the look and it seems very sturdy. If it wasn't for those other faults would have given it a 5.

Good value for the price.

Pretty easy to put together - I did it myself in within a couple hours (and I was even drinking). You'll just need a Philips-head screwdriver but the rest of the stuff is included. The box it comes in is HEAVY and packed with a ton of that awful Styrofoam stuff that gets all.over.the.house so I recommend doing what I did -- open one end of the box, carefully remove & immediately bag as many loose Styrofoam pieces as you can get, then pull each wooden piece out individually and go over it with a lint roller to remove all the Styrofoam crumbs. Pile the desk pieces up in whatever room you're planning to assemble it in. Eventually you won't be able to reach some of the smaller pieces farther in the box, so then just open the other end and repeat from that side. If you opened the entire box right away, you'd be engulfed in a horrible Styrofoam blizzard, RIP. Anyway, the instructions are reasonably easy to follow once you get the hang of them (but, before you install the drawer gliders, really study the pictures of them in the lower right corner of each instruction-step....the screws don't necessarily go where you think they would). And then, once the whole desk is put together, don't try to lift it because it'll kinda sound/feel like something is straining or threatening to come loose. Push/pull it to wherever you want it using the metal feet at the bottom. It feels pretty sturdy, but there are a lot of parts so I wouldn't recommend putting it to any kind of stress test. Oh and if you want hanging folders to go in the large drawer, you'll have to get some of those railing things because the drawer doesn't have a lip or ridge or anything for them to grab onto. Overall, it's a legit desk and I like it. Looks nice, has a large enough work surface, and adequate drawer storage.

Love it!

Arrived quickly with protective packaging intact. No issues. Pieces are numbered in numerical order so we arranged them from 1-20 and my husband had his electric drill in hand. Did take a few hours to assemble but desk is sturdy, no wobbles..looks great. Kinda miss not having a middle drawer, or keyboard shelf but this desk is so great. Can tuck away phone books, and other flat items neatly,

Great Modern Desk

I ordered the white desk and was slightly overwhelmed when I saw all the parts it came with to build (this is not my first time putting furniture together so I should have known). The instructions are fairly simple to follow and the only issue I has was not noticing to install the metal file holders since the instructions are not in written order but placed sporadically on the page. Due to not being able to install them after the file drawer was constructed, I needed to take apart the file drawer to fit in the metal file hangers. Otherwise beautiful desk. It is on tile floor so it sturdy not sure how it would feel on carpet or a rug. I did purchase a separate piece of plexi glass to place on top of the desk for protections from writing, scratches, and beverages. This is a great addition to my office. The only time I needed my husband to help was to turn the table upright after installing legs. This is a 2 person job due to the size and instability of the desk not being fully constructed yet. I assembled the desk in 2.5 hours including unpacking the pieces and cleanup. Also since the desk is 60 inches across there is plenty of room for a laptop and other items.
