Won't buy Safavieh again

The bench arrived a day early, which was OK for me. The box was not damaged. First thing we noticed on opening the box was a lot of small pellets. Being from Florida, we immediately suspected insect droppings. Turns out they were silica gel pellets from broken packs in the box and were difficult to remove.Next we could not remove the bench from the box. This was because both sliders meant to hold the drawers had broken off in transit causing the drawers to get stuck inside the bench. With great difficulty, we got the bench out of the box and then the drawers out of the bench. Hubby then had to re-glue the sliders and also sand them in order to get them to operate. One drawer still is not quite right and is hard to open and close.The exterior is in good condition, but the cushion is hard and uncomfortable. This bench was sold under the name of 'Safavieh', a name I thought I could trust. Now, I don't expect to shop that brand again. Less

Well worth the price

For the price, this is a decent looking piece. We needed a place to store dog leashes, coats, and waste bags, and to sit one when leashing up the dogs. This fits the bill. My daughter has a similar one with rattan baskets. I think these wooden ones will hold up better, though they aren't as deep front-to-back. My only minor issue is that, since the wooden drawers are a little heavier and shallower than the rattan ones, they will pull right out and drop down if you're not careful. I knicked up the front edge by doing that the first time I used it. Fortunately, I have a furniture stain stick in the same color, and it's fine now. I can't comment on how long it will hold up, but given the fact that it doesn't get a lot of vigorous use, it should be fine.

Misleading description and photos of the item

The description and photos of the item are misleading: 1) There is no indication (no photo) that the bench does not have a platform at the bottom. There's a big hole dangerous to kids and pets. 2) the drawers are not as deep as the bench and that is not specified in the description, the drawer is 101/2 inches deep, while the bench is 15 inches. If you want to return it, you have to pay the lable which is not fair.

At my age I need to order items that are fully assembled, and this storage bench was just what I was looking for. Arrived quickly and very well packaged. I placed it in my laundry warm for shoe storage, oh and it also was a great price. Many thanks!

Great storage bench!

Umm this storage bench is awesome... plus it comes assembled! I wasn't expecting that. Really nice and solid. Using it in my back doorway as a shoe bench and shoe storage. Really nice and sturdy - great quality especially for that price. Might buy another one! Baskets are really strong too! An adult person can sit on the bench no problem!

This chest was perfect for the space I bought it for, it is very sturdy and I use it for a bench as well, it is has extra storage inside , which I was in need for.

Cushion is only finished on one side do can’t be turned over & drawers are heavy to open. Ok if you’re just using for storage but not for daily open & closing.

Using this bench in my kitchen by the back door. It's super functional with the deep drawers. I keep my coffee pods and water bottles in the drawers on their way to the garage. I can also fit sandals for everyone to slip on before going outside. Cute little thing doesn't take up much space but it surprisingly functional. Thinking about hanging some hooks above to throw my keys or my purse on when I come in.
