Exceeds my expectations.
I bought this tent several months ago. in preparation for a cross country trip to several national parks with my family of four. We have had great weather and some not so great weather with the tent withheld probably 35 to 45 mile an hour gust of winds in South Dakota. We have survived several hours of rain and other storms and for the most part the tent has been dry, even with a hard blowing rain. We did get a little blow in water but nothing that concerned me.
[Rewarded Review] Core 10 person leaks, Floor all wet
We have had Core tents for years. Our first rain in this new 10 person and the floor leaks. We had standing water on the floor. So disappointed. Tent sets up fast and great zippers, but have to return it for leaks. All around the floor on the tent had water.
Excellent tent
The tent is extremely easy to put up, goes up within 10 mins. Durable and well constructed. The zippers are smooth and double stitched. Very roomie, fits a queen bed with extra room, table and chairs. Had it out on the rain and no leaks whatsoever. Dry to the bone. Screen room makes an awesome entry way when it's raining. I would highly recommend this product.
Great Family Tent
I’m really impressed with this tent. I was looking for something versatile that could accommodate a big air mattress for comfort and also handle room for a lot of people. I used this tent for a weekend of forest camping. It was relatively easy to set up and has plenty of guidelines to secure in case of high winds. It really is a spacious tent and the room divider is great especially if you have kids. The air flow control is impressive. It dropped into the 30’s at night and closing the air vents really helped. I have no concerns about durability and the only challenge I had was fitting the tent back in the bag when I was done
Good Design - Durability issues.
First time out worked great, went together as quick as advertised, roomy, and comfortable.
Awesome tent, very happy
We've had the 10 person instant tent now for 3 camping seasons, used it probably 30+ nights and 100% happy with it. Upgraded from a similar design 6 person Coleman Instant tent. The Core 10 person provides the space we need as family of 3 that sleeps on cots (forget the air mattress on the ground! Cots are 10x better!). No leaks during moderate rain storms, plenty of ventilation and no issues yet with zippers. We do also use a blue tarp under the floor for extra protection. For car camping I highly recommend this tent for a family of 3-5 who wants a bit of extra space. Only improvement would be rainfky to cover entire screened porch area.
Great tent! Well thought out design!
This tent is massive! I know they make bigger ones but holy cow, this one is great for my family. While camping we sleep on cots, which can be cumbersome in smaller tents, but this tent works well for our needs. The zippers are great, the front doors (there are two of them, and when the room divider is used you can have separate entrances) do not have rain flaps to prevent rain from entering, but the screened vestibule and rain fly should keep the water out. The setup with this tent is not quite as easy as my 9 person Core Equipment tent because of the more traditional tent pole setup for the vestibule, which adds on maybe 5 extra minutes. It’s an even trade off to have a screened in place to sit. Each side of the tent has the venting flaps (which are the length of the tent) to help keep everything from getting damp overnight when it typically gets humid in tents. The openings for the vents are adjustable also! Great feature! There are compartments all over the inside, as well as a couple outside in the vestibule. Overall this was a great purchase and it will be a great addition to our camping equipment, I’m looking forward to many years of enjoyment!
Easy to set up and roomy!
The tent was easy/fast to set up, roomy, and stayed completely dry inside (all of the things our last tent was not), even after a night of heavy rain. The tent’s easy-up skeleton seems durable and the tent itself seems well-constructed and built to last. The carry bag zipper’s teeth misaligned a bit when returning the packed tent to the bag, which is a concern for longevity of the bag itself. Otherwise, the tent was great and I would highly recommend it to others!
Not waterproof, leaked on first use
I hate to say that this tent is not waterproof nor will the company fix, replace, or do anything for my brand new tent that leaked. It lightly sprinkled through the rainfly above which accumulated through a day of rain in the Smoky Mountains. Also, it dripped constantly via the tie ups for the back windows (windows were closed, dripped through the seam). I was told by the company "Core tents are water resistant and require a waterproofing spray to be waterproofed and withstand constant rain. We recommend using Nikwax, Scotchgard Water Repellent, or Coghlan's Seam Seal. We recommend all tents be sprayed once a season to maintain the waterproofing or as directed on the product instructions." So DON'T expect a dry tent upon purchase. The description says "All Core tents are equipped with water resistant PU coated fabric and taped seams to help keep moisture out."
Love, Love it
I have been eyeing this tent for a couple of years. Last year it sold out before I could buy. I bought this past winter to make sure I snagged one. I am the camper my husband is not a huge fan. Camps for me. I wanted to make it easier and make sure we were dry in the rain. All of the above with this tent. We ended up have quite a bit of rain with down pours on our first trip. Dry as can be and with the ventilation was great. You can close it off on cool nights and open it on humid without the rain getting in the tent. I bought the footprint also. When we packed up and picked the tent off the footprint, we had a puddle underneath and it was never in the tent. Also this was much easier to bring home wet than our last tent. I like how it has a cinching piece to compact it better. We just used that and not the bag since the tent was wet. We just set up when we got home and dried the tent then. Love that every corner has loops to hang things. Love how the zippers move from both directions. Love you can get in and out of the tent and not get water in the tent when raining. Of course if you leave anything in the screen house it will get wet coming through the screens. We did not really use the stakes except I think for the screen porch. They were decent. We learned many years ago camping in the Adirondacks you need heavy duty ones for rocky ground. It is plenty of room for my glamping style for the two of us. There is enough room if my adult son comes also.
Wow!
I haven't camped for about 20 years and I wanted something really comfortable for my family and my worn out knees. I spent a lot of time searching and reading reviews and specs to decide this was our best choice for being basically car camping newbies. I really wanted a tent we could stand up in and a tent with an awning. (A need I thoroughly understand from camping fiasco 20 years ago!) We set this up in the house to make sure we could do it correctly and it had all it's parts. The online video is really super helpful and we didn't even need to look at the instructions on the bag. First time took about 30 min because we had to keep scooting it around inside to make enough space for it. I believe the next time we do it outside at our camp site it won't take very long at all. It is just remarkably simple. I think one person could set this up, except maybe the rain fly depending on the wind. It will probably be more time setting up footprint, pegging and guying than the actual erection of tent. It was easy to bring it down and reminds me a lot of following the folds for origami. It's just a big origami tent. We both really like the harness for packing it back up, and the oversized bag is perfect b/c we made it back in without a problem. I am blown away and so is my husband. We're both really tall (6' & 6'4") so this will be perfect. My daughter is happy too b/c she can have her own "room" with the divider. I'll be happy there's enough space for us to hang out inside the tent if the rain starts while we camp. And there will be lots of room for our cots, bags and gear. I can't wait for June to get here! A+
Absolutely love it!!
It's super easy to set up and take down. I received it in 3 days and everything was in perfect condition. The first night it rained and the entire campsite was under 2" of water. All four corners of tent were under water. I was the only one in the group that didn't have a flooded tent the next morning. I love the attention to detail and especially the floor/wall mesh vents. Very cool! I'm totally impressed with everything about this tent and my entire experience with CORE.
Great for Car Camping
The CORE 10x14 tent with screened vestibule was an amazing tent for our adventures this summer. We decided to do a lot of camping this summer and even when the weather turned bad the tent was great. It withstood medium winds at night and evening rains (some very hard rains as well) we never got wet and the tent never leaked. The tent was large enough for 2 queen air mattresses and space at the foot of them for bags. It was great on the days where it rained because we didn't feel cramped sitting inside the tent for a few hours. It is a little heavy to carry far from the car, but set up extremely easily with 1 adult and 2 kids. When we did have a question Alli was amazing to work with. I would recommend the tent and CORE to my friends and family.
Love this tent.
Spacious floor with tall sides. I'm 6' and I can walk around anywhere in the tent.
tried and tested
We have used this tent in some of the heaviest weather around, and it performed very well. The last outing saw two days of big continuously sustained, very high winds associated with a large low pressure system. The wind absolutely roared. And it poured rain for hours and hours. Yet the inside of the tent remained bone dry; not a single drop of water inside the tent.
Tent with a view
Just finished our first campout in our 10 Person Instant Tent. At one point, the wind blew really hard for a couple of hours. It rained twice. We made it through comfortable and dry. We discovered that our 12 " yellow plastic stakes we bought at hardware store kept it better grounded. For us, we were amazed at the wide open views this tent offers. With the abundance of screened windows doors and lower air vents, this kept the tent cool during some hot days. I had the Six Person Instant Tent before and loved it. We got this bigger one with its screened in front porch to put a couple of camp chairs in it for indoor times times . Quite a tent. Thank you Core for this great design!
Great camping!
We bought the Core 6 Person Instant Cabin Tent. My wife and I, both semi-retired, had our first campout at Lake Dillion in Colorado this past weekend. The wind blew. It rained. We stayed dry and cozy. We love this tent so much, except we realized we would like even more room. So we just bought the 10 Person Tent with two divided interior rooms and a bonus screen room. On another note, we had read all of the reviews which were almost all five and for stars. Those who rated it down mentioned thin floors and difficult door zippers, neither of which was our experience. We've had tents with thicker floors, but they were much heavier to lug around. The door zippers are covered with a small flap for rain. Using both hands to zip and unzip is no problem. The zippers didn't leak a bit during the rain. Great design Core!
Good All-around Tent
Pros:
Roomy for cots
As a family of four that uses cots, this was perfect! My husband is 6’4” and we did A LOT of research and were excited to get an instant tent he is able to stand up in. This tent had a middle partition which was great for changing clothes as well as lots of hooks to hang items around the tent, including three hooks on the ceiling for lights. It truly was the easiest tos at up- though remember the CORE logo of the rain fly goes on the front.
Finally, a large format tent that is easy to use AND functional
It wasn't that long ago that the thought of setting up, taking down, and packing up a 10-person tent would elicit a sense of dread in most people.
