Assembly is required. Directions are only illustrations. However, upon reviewing the illustrations to make sure you've got it all, then start one step at a time. Finished vanity looks very nice. I found it to be sturdy and solid. Takes patience to assemble but worth it for a small bathroom.

The item came with pieces mislabeled and that took a bit to figure out. Some holes will drilled at over sizes so the screws didn't have enough material to dig into, and some dowels rattled around rather than allowing for a tight fit. As a result the final product was rickety. This got corrected with additional screws and glue above and beyond what came with the kit. So I ended up with a good unit, but it took some work to get there.
