Better than a backhoe

I was in the process of digging a hole for a septic system when I hit a huge black rock. After hours and hours of trying to remove the rock with no results I turned to Dexpan. Using Dexpan over several times I was able to break up this massive rock.. I highly recommend Dexpan.

The product is amazing. Excellent solution for demolition of thick concrete.

Pretty Amazing

Works as it says if follow directions and correct temp. I used it on a lava rock boulder after drilling the holes. Definitely wear a filtered mask and goggles! This stuff really does pop, so don't stand in direction of holes until it's close to the 24hr mark as stated in warnings.

This stuff was super! Worked exactly as described. Drilling the holes in the 800lbs. boulder was the worst part of the process. After that is was a quick mix, pour it in the holes and walk away. 24 hrs later the boulder was in four big chunks that I could move with my little Kubota’s front bucket.

Boulder Buster

I have used this product on two separate occasions. On both occasions I had a massive boulder, which I was able to break up overnight using dexpan. I used a 1 inch masonry bit 18 inches long with a hammer drill. I recommend this product, and definitely worked as described.

Need large hammer drill for hole. Most homeowner drill will not work.

You need a really big hammer drill bit, one and one half inch minimum to drill the holes. A far larger bit than most drill will accommodate. If your hammer drill will accommodate, the bit alone is around $100.

Boulder blocking installation of shed

Dexpan worked fantastic. Drilled 1.5" holes approximately 12" apart. It was not easy drilling, but i had 11 holes about 10" deep. The 11 lb bag only made enough to fill 9 holes but that was enough to remove the part of the boulder.

Best product ever

Had a few large granite boulders ( bout size of VW bug) could not break using heavy equipment breakers. Drilled it using the Dexpan spacing directions and about 20 hrs later rock had begin to literally fall apart. Amazing and a lot cheaper then burning diesel fuel.

Great stuff. If you have a rock to get rid of and it is too big to move, this is the stuff to use. I had a rock that was 3'x3'x4'. I rented a rotary hammer from the local hardware store and drilled 1/2" holes about every 10 to 12 inches. Mix up and pour in the Dexpan and wait 24-30 hours. The rock cracked in all directions. I put a metal pry bar in the cracks and twisted it and the rock fell apart. Will definitely use again.

worked well on limestone

Pleasantly surprised at how well dexapan worked on limestone in a trench. The stone was a foot deep or more and probably went under my whole yard. Braking it up with a jack hammer wasnt working so I tried Dexapan. It put significant crack in the stone so that the jack hammer could now break off pieces which could be removed. It dries to a dust so so just add some water for a second try. The slurry runs into the cracks you just made and makes them bigger

The easiest way to bust stubborn old concrete - worth every penny!

I had to remove the top part of a set of 50 year old concrete steps. Tried a sledgehammer then a jackhammer both with much effort and no success. Finally found out about this stuff and ordered a bucket. Didn't have the recommended 1.5" bit so I drilled 1" holes a bit closer together than the recommended 10", about 30 total, over an area of about 12' sq. I got type I so I waited for a hot afternoon and poured in the mix as temps hit 80F. Was a bit disappointed to not see any results that day, but the next morning a spiderweb of fractures had appeared! After that I simply pried away the chunks with a pry bar and sledgehammer. Busting old concrete is hard work. This stuff makes it easy!

I used Dexpan to break up a step on my porch. The instructions were very straightforward, and the product was easy to use. It took me a bit longer than I expected to make sure that it was thoroughly mixed, so just be sure to double check the bottom of your bucket. Even though I had a smaller than recommended drill bit (1" instead of 1.5") the cracking was sufficient to break up the step.
