This fireplace worked out perfectly for what we had envisioned. The specs on the site made it easy to plan ahead with our contractor. I love the minimalist look when the fireplace is off. It's simple and clean. The fire looks great when turned on. The remote is easy to use. The glass is easy to clean when needed. Shipping was also quick and easy. It arrived on a pallet and the delivery guy helped me move it into the garage.

I wanted the most realistic electric modern option available. Our home didn’t have gas. I didn’t want it to look cheesy. I read all reviews and had contractor install so I could see before they tiled. This was a great fireplace. We also used it a lot in two different rooms and it was perfect to warm up a large space. Has a remote which was easy to use. Different visual modes for high flame or low flame. Warm white is what I always used. Other options if you’re into that. Would recommend

Contacted Dimplex customer service line to troubleshoot the issue. This was not successful so the company is sending a technician to replace parts. Unfortunately, our fireplace stopped working after just one year. Extremely dissatisfied with this product.

This is the second one of these we have ordered. The first one started squeaking, then changed rumbling and groaning the 3rd day of operation. I ordered a second one, this review is mainly for the second. Upon opening this second unit to prepare it for installation I could see that the long flicker rod was unsecured in the case. This long flicker rod has small mirrors attached to it, it slowly rotates to create the flame pattern. The flicker rod was unsecured forming a long snake like shape across the inside of the unit. Being completely unusable I returned it on 20 December 2023. I have kept the original unit which continues to make a constant groaning mixed with occasional shuffling noises. So far I am quite unimpressed with the quietness this unit. Customer service person told me that it is possible for a technician to adjust the rod. I will give that a try next, sure am getting tired of listening to this unit groan and shuffle. UPDATE: Yesterday I removed the glass and back mirror of my first unit. After carefully adjustment to align then lubrication of the 3 flicker rod support bushings with synthetic grease it is quite as a mouse.

While it might not heat as well in larger areas, it certainly creates a cozy corner in our home. I feel fortunate to have this fireplace, as its made our gatherings more enjoyable and memorable!

Lovely Ambiance, Some Limitations

What I love most about the IgniteXL is how it transforms the atmosphere in my home. The flames are beautiful and calming. Perfect for cozy nights! However, I do wish it had a little more heating power for larger rooms. That being said, I appreciate the energy savings and the unique style it brings. It's still a great investment for my family!

I love my Dimplex 50” fireplace. I upgraded the trim kit and the did the driftwood option. The fireplace and accessories were delivered promptly. Install was easy and support was available via a live person on the phone when we had questions. I discovered Dimplex at a home show and am so grateful for a realistic fireplace. Price was consistent with other vendors but what made the decision for me was the shipping time and price on options. Love it!

While the final product seems to be as expected, it was a nightmare from the start. We purchased this fireplace to be used in a custom entertainment center being built. The box arrived and was mangled slightly and we could see the parts inside along with all the broken cheap styrofoam. It didn't appear that the unit was damaged so we moved forward with our project and we were not ready to install yet so it sat in garage waiting. When my husband and the contractor finally got it out of the torn up box and unpackaged the rest of the way, the darn framing was bent (you can see it in the first two pictures). Now I guess we could have sent it back if we had a box that could have been used but nope the cheap cardboard box would not have been reusable. My husband spent a good amount of time over the weekend working to straighten it out using heavy duty clamps so they could install it. It helped for the most part and while it looks nice finished, it is aggravating paying this much for a product and then have to bend it back in shape. Packaging needs to be better! Installation was another matter in and of ***.for this price we shouldn't have to take pieces apart to install stuff or put the product together. It wasn't as easy as the instruction book made it out to be. Not sure if we would recommend this product today after all this frustration. Will see how it works when time to turn it on.
