Little Pump that Could!
I bought this for my koi pond. It runs 24/7. I put a filter sack around to keep leaves from getting stuck to the filter grate and keep small fish from getting sucked in. It has great flow out of my waterfall and keeps my water clean.

never received,O keep promise to replace but still not receive
Powerful and convenient, I love it!!
Works like a champ!! Pushes water through my bog filter with ease.. the adjustment capability is a must have!! FYI, I have two of them..
Durable and saved me tons on my electricity bill
Had my first unit for 4.5 years and it saved us $** a month off our power bill every month from our 700 watt original pump. Tonight I installed the new pump and it was the easiest replacement. If this one last me another 4.5 years of being on 24/7 it is well worth the money. Great pump. Wish the flow was a little stronger. But it is near the volume of the 700 watt one. Definitely go with a more flow unit then you think you need.
Several problems.
I’ve owned many Alpine ponds pumps and have have had mostly good success. I bought this pump because of the high output and adjustable pump controller. After receiving the pump I disassembled it and realized it was necked down less the 1.5 inches internally. I replaced an internal fitting to at least have a 1.5 inch output which I adapted to a 2 inch pvc adapter.
The controller is well worth the extra money
This is my 2nd Alpine Eco-Sphere pump and I love it. My first one lasted about 7 or 8 years. I could have gotten a smaller pump for my pond but I really like the controller on this one. It's nice to be able to turn it up if you need a little more ambient noise to drown out the noisy neighbors or if you're having a party.
control unit not weather proof
Two of these units failed on same day, tripping circuit breakers. Found water in both control boxes. Alpine did not respond to emails after sending all information and pictures required for warranty. Gave up and bought 2 pumps elsewhere ro keep pond running
Works great
We finally put in a pond for my daughter! I have been shopping around and reading reviews on pumps! This had great reviews ! Was very easy to install and love the electric controls to manage the water flow! Was shipped and delivered quickly!
Pump for pond in process
I haven't actually put this in my pond yet. I'm still in process of putting everything together. I wanted to get the main parts so I can determine how to plumb it.

As with some other reviewers, this purchase was to upgrade from a smaller pump. There is, however, misinformation in the specifications. A big factor in our purchase decision was the stated 2" outlet. After upgrading tubing and filter to 2", it was a rather unpleasant surprise to find the pump has a 1.5" outlet. It does come with an eccentric 1.5"-2" adapter but then the largest diameter section of the hose barb adapter stops things back down to 1.5". Luckily, the threads are compatible with indoor plumbing and a 2" PVC thread to tubing adapter was easily found. Next up is that the red collar holding the ball to the pump is much thinner than the plumbing part. We ended up having to take apart the casing, loosen the internal 1.5" collar, and then screw the pump onto the 2" plumbing piece to keep everything lined up and fitting courtesy Alpine's own eccentric adapter.

The pump works well! We had a pump that was putting out about 250 gph and replaced it with this one since we needed 1500 gph to keep the algae growth down. Even though this pump has over 6x the flow (for our setup with ~10 ft of head), it actually uses about 20W less than our previous pump! The only issue I have is the adjustable nozzle that gets screwed on doesnt quite fit in the hole. You have to move the plastic body around to make it work. It doesnt seem to affect the operation though.
Picture deceiving
I could of misinterpreted the description but the picture is not what it is. It shows four outlets and only has one. The controller is great but it would be better with a timer. Lastly the item came with the outlet not centered out of the hole. Even though it swivels I couldn't get it centered through the hole. I had to remove the screws from pump and turn the body of pump slightly to fit the outlet hole center. Very disappointed about that. Poor quality control. Besides that, it works good and is strong enough to power 2 waterfalls.
