Very High Quality, Mediocre Instructions

The shower door itself is very good quality, and looks great installed. I'm giving it a 4 though because the instructions weren't exceptionally clear, I read multiple times, but still made some minor mistakes that we're able to be corrected. Additionally, there are a considerable number of parts that aren't used. It's very odd. Overall, I'd recommend it, but be very cautious installing and make sure you really understand before you take steps that are permanent.

First, it did not come with any detailed and complete instructions to install. When they installed it for me, it was not completely 90 degree vertical, and it did not close properly. I had to open it up and put new holes in the new stone wall while the old ones visibile. Now from the bottom of the door, water can go through so all outside gets wet

The Dreamline Shower door as installed on my standard 48 inch shower base looks exactly like the picture. It is extremely sturdy and everything works as it should. It was installed by my bathroom remodeler, I would not recommend personal installation unless a person is very handy with such things or has help from someone who is. Both the left and right walls of my shower bay are about 1/2 inch out of plumb (over 6 ft.) but the adjustments available with the door corrected this problem. This door is more expensive than some but I am very pleased with the purchase.

First of all, I'm a very handy person, I work on most of the house projects myself. Good price for the design and quality. Despite I angled the glass door a bit much during installation and hurt glass crack, only a little bit of glass chip on the hinge, very minor, can't even see it. I wish the glass door had a sticker to show which side is top and which side is bottom bc I installed it wrong and had to reinstall it. I also wished they included a diamond drill bit, regular drill bit would not have worked on porcelain tiles... But I guess they had the assumption that most ppl will have the professionals install it

Metal parts corrode and fail

At first we were happy with this product. But the metal parts began to corrode and swell and eventually the bottom hinge was all flared out (see pictures) and in the middle of the night caused the glass to spontaneously shatter.

Shower door shattered into a million pieces, cutting myself and my son. We did install the door ourselves carefully, even though directions preferred professional installation. You can say; there you go, do-it-yourselfers disregarding the directions. I don't feel that is the point and after reading online about how stress for any reason on the door or even a small defect can shatter the door regardless of who installed it, sometimes in the middle of the night. I know there are millions of shower doors in the world and do not know how many shatter for any reason, I just hope no one gets hurt. My wife, after seeing the damage, has no faith in the product and does not want it no matter who installs it. In the mean time here is a picture of a hybrid that will work just fine until we figure out what we will do in the future. ------ Out of luck in Roseville.

Great Shower Door!

A friend who is a contractor helped me with this installation. The hardest part was probably making sense of the instructions. That said, DreamLine provided an 800# if any questions came up. I talked to them prior to purchase to make sure I ordered the right size. The install went fine and the Shower Door with bronze hardware is perfect in my renovated bath. The door is solid and attractive. Best advice re installing, please work with someone who knows what they are doing. My house is an older home and the bath was remodelled, so all kinds of nuances came along with installation. Patience is a virtue!

[Rewarded Review] Great Looking Door. Installation Somewhat of a Chellenge`

Installed this door in a shower remodel. Very nice product, very inadequate instructions. Took three experienced contractors over 7 hours to get it installed. There is a reason this company has its own training program to become recognized installers! Read the install instruction at least three times. Confusing because one set of instructions is used for multiple door types, parts are not cleanly identified in drawings. Oh well, if you know what a Big flat head screw ST4.2×40 (16) is, then it will be easy to put in.

Very nice

In general it was an easy installation, but I feel like an emphasis should have been put early in the instructions that the vertical alignment for the door and stationary glass is solely based on their connections to the wall. Its obvious in hindsight but I would have paid more attention had I thought about this earlier in the installation. I ended up having to realign both sides, which entailed drilling several new holes in tile. Also, a diamond bit is a must for drilling the holes in tile. Tungsten carbide just did not do the trick. With the diamond bit you just need to keep spraying with a water bottle while drilling.
