Reviews
Ours is an older model, but we love it so much that we purchased another for our business! Brew time is sufficiently short, considering the grind cycle. It has a pause feature if you're in a hurry for your coffee goodness lol One thing to remember, when you're cleaning your pot, remember to remove the grinding chamber so you can clean out all the parts of the chute. If not, you'll end up with a lot of coffee tinged water like we have! Cleaning mishaps aside, this is a wonderful coffee maker and we'll definitely get the newest model when this one dies. (3 years and running strong)
I bought this and went on vacation for 3 weeks. So today I tried to set it up. This is a nice looking coffee maker, but it is a stinker to use. I read the manual and it says see drawing on page 6 and there is no drawing and other bad info like this. It was difficult to program. I am going to return it and look for an easier to use coffee maker. But they don’t refund after 30 days. I give it 1 star because it is hard to program with an owners manual that has bogus directions. And after years of buying things, I am done with them because I am stuck with a coffee maker I can’t use.
A Great Cup Every Morning
I am very satisfied and pleased with the Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffeemaker. I have had Cuisinart coffeemakers in my home me for many years, this particular coffeemaker makes a great consistently good cup of coffee every single day. The coffeemaker is well constructed, has a sleek design and brews coffee perfectly every morning. I am a bit of a coffee snob and this Grind and Brew Coffeemaker makes a great cup every day. You can depend on this coffeemaker to brew a great cup of coffee every morning.
Perfect fresh hot coffee for years
This is our third one and we will have no other coffee maker in my home!! Some people complain about the ‘jet engine’ noise of the grinder, but it’s not a deal breaker and we use it as a wakeup alarm.
I really like this machine.
So far so good. This was a replacement for the Black and Decker mill and brew at same price range that went bad in 14 months. So far, this Cuisinart is so much better in every single way. I thought with the more pieces this one would be more annoying to clean, but because I do not have to clean the unit itself nearly as much, overall, the cleaning process is easier with this Cuisinart. Makes great coffee and grinds the beans very well. Very easy user interface.
Very Satisfied
I have only had this coffee maker for about a month, but I'm very satisfied with it so far. I use the 1-4 cup setting mostly but have also brewed larger amounts. Either way, I have ended up with a good, hot cup of coffee when using already ground coffee as well as when using the whole bean grinder on the unit. The only downfall I've noticed is with the filter arm. It seems a little flimsy. I hope it holds up, because this has been the best out of 3 coffee makers I've tried in the past 5 years. The others had issues with the water reservoirs leaking or end up making a bitter cup of coffee over time. So far, I would recommend this coffee maker.
I’m impressed with the ease of use & great coffee
So far, about a month I’ve had this coffee maker, and I really enjoy it. The programmable grind is awesome! I set it up with beans before bed and wake up to fresh coffee in the morning. It does seem to steam the whole machine when making coffee, so I have been opening it all up to dry before cleaning it. There is extra steps to cleaning it. But it does make a great cup of coffee and it comes out super hot! I am happy with my purchase and impressed. Very easy to use/setup.
Good coffee but grinder is loud
We are pleased with the quality of the coffee made from our new Cuisinart Grind and Brew coffee maker. We had grown tired of the tasteless “coffee” that we got from our Keurig. The aroma of coffee now fills our room each morning. The downside is that the grinder is extremely loud, as if it were an airplane taking off, and since we keep the coffee machine in our bedroom, the auto function is enough to scare you out of bed and onto your feet.
This little coffee maker is amazing! The coffee comes out perfect! I only make 1-4 cups and you can adjust it so it so it knows it’s only making a few cups. That way the coffee is stronger. It does not make a mess at all and I have it programmed so it brews every morning and I sleep right thru it. I don’t find it to be noisy at all. Very easy to program and to clean. All in all it’s a great buy!
5star product..Great value for your $$$
Well design machine perfect for a cup of coffee
Yes!!!
Got this as a gift. I’m single and usually use single serve pods or grind my own to use with reusable plastic pods. On the days when I’m at home for the day I can make 4 or 6 cups with the Cuisinart 12 cup grind and brew and store the brew in a thermal caraf rather than leaving it on the brewer hot plate. The coffee is very good with the fresh ground beans, the brew timing and using the wire mesh filter basket. I always clean the components right after brewing to keep everything fresh for the next round. I really enjoy the brewer and would recommend it for any one who likes to grind their own beans and who likes a really tasty cup of Java!
Latest model not as sturdy
We've been using this style coffee maker for our whole marriage - 20 years! This is our third, which we purchased after the grinder on our second one failed. This third version of the same machine does not seem quite as well-made as the first two. The latch on the door is weak and the side seems to buckle a bit - it does not seem as sturdy. Still, I haven't found another model with a grinder included that is as affordable, and it continues to make good coffee with a minimum of mess.
Grinder chute jammed on all three brews. Garbage.
The coffee maker is not working as the previous Cuisinart brand products I have had, and I'm really disappointed.
Don’t Buy This
No light behind the clock. Hard to see the time when programming. Sounds like a jet taking off in the kitchen, much louder than a normal coffee grinder. Half the time the grounded coffee doesn’t fully empty into the filter resulting in weaker coffee. You have to clean out the grinder completely after each use and dry out the entire compartment. Lots of cleaning, including the cover over the filter. Did i mention all the cleaning lol? Like 5 minutes after each use. You have to completely fill the grinder with beans for 10 cups. 12 cups has to be weak coffee. It was a gift. I don’t like it.
Great Pot of Coffee
This coffeemaker is an excellent buy. Works great and once you figure out how much coffee beans fits your taste, it makes a great cup of coffee. The only issue I have is that the steam of the pot goes right back up into the grinder. So, making a second pot of coffee takes longer than it should. Reason being, between cooling off and cleaning between each pot, the time it takes to prepare the next pot. Even with that, I still really enjoy this coffeemaker. From start to finish with the program function, it takes 12 minutes to grind and brew a 12 cup pot of coffee.
Too much work!
One star for hot coffee. If you use this model occasionally then don’t read any further. First, make sure you put the filter basket and cover on, then put into the filter door BEFORE sliding in the carafe. To make sure you have the proper amount of water use a measuring cup, otherwise you have to look inside - ugh! Also the reservoir and grinder are not separated so moisture collects inside the grinder basket - ugh! Also it is advisable to take the grinder basket out to put your beans in, otherwise they can bounce out where you don’t want them. When done leave the top cover lid open for moisture to escape.
Older type of coffee pot with same model number
This is not the first of these coffee pots I have owned, but this iteration, with the same model number as my last, is definitely not as well thought out. I actually owned this particular model two coffee pots ago (they last about 6 years). The last one I had was much improved. I was very disappointed to receive this model again. The grinds get all over and wind up in the pot at times, the door is less well constructed and it is harder for a short person like me to fill with water accurately. I won't ever buy this through Macy's online again.
Third Cuisinart coffee pot in this(my) lifetime
The filter chamber for the ground coffee ( retrieval cup-shelf) seems less sturdy than previous models (which have served us well for last 20 years). Hoping this drawer does not have issues ... flimsy feel we hope is just that... only a feeling. . We Miss the window showing level of fresh water, but we are seeming to be able to adapt. Without too much trouble. however, quality of coffee is super up to par and entire machine works seamlessly.
I was so excited to buy this grind and brew coffee maker but am disappointed in some features. First of all, it takes some experimenting to figure out the grind strength in relation to the water and number of cups. I don't like weak coffee so it took a little time get the acceptable settings. Secondly, a glass carafe with a hot plate would keep and allow the coffee to get really hot. The current set up just let's the not so hot water into the carafe. Coffee is never "hot". Thirdly, a lot of coffee gets left behind in the carafe because of the design. You literally have to turn the carafe upside down to get coffee out. Its also hard to clean. I place a coffee filter in the basket to make it easier on cleaning. You must also clean the grinding mechanism of accumulated coffee grounds. There's gotta be a better grind and brew out there! It does cut down on needing a separate grinder but you'll give up a good cup of coffee. I would not buy again...
Shiny and new
My old Cuisinart was 9 years old and had started spilling coffee unless we propped a fork under the filter (as pictured), so I finally got the new model. I'm sad that the old models large bean container is now replaced with a grinder that had to be filled every single use, but was hopeful this would mean fewer leaks. Ps, this carafe seems pretty flimsy and the metal thermal option on my old machine will be sorely missed! It will not fit in this model. update: This thing is LOUD LOUD LOUD - way louder than the old model - and it is now impossible to make coffee without waking the entire house. The blade grinder also pulverizes the beans, leading to more grains in your final cup. Worst, it brews much hotter than the old model - meaning it remains undrinkable unless you put in ice and water it down. Missed the return date and very disappointed.
