horrible

Order a white one for a new dog and waited for it to get here and showed up cherry brown. They wouldn’t send me another one until I shipped the wrong one back and I don’t have anywhere for my new dog to sleep. Parts don’t fit well and the lock on the door is horrible. Will be finding another company to get my pet supplies from.

Recommended for crate trained dogs

We have a bull terrier mix who is crate trained. She only sleeps in it at night on the nights she's not snuggling on the bed with us. She's about 55lbs and has no issues sitting, standing, and turning. Although, she could break through the door if she wanted to because the latch isn't very strong.

End Table Dog Crate

It’s perfect for my 20 lb. Miniature Australian Shepherd. I’m very disappointed that it didn’t come with a plastic crate liner, though. The locking mechanism is different than I’ve seen on any crate and that’s been an adjustment. It sometimes takes 2-3 tries before it locks.

Loved this crate for my 50 pound lab mix. It works fantastic as long as you have a calm dog. I had to go out for an extended length of time and left him in it, and he ended up chewing through it and getting halfway out before he got stuck. Looks great, and would work well for a dog that does not have separation anxiety.

Great kennel/ end table for non-puppies.

I have had this crate for a few years now. It is good looking, functions well as an end table, and has held up beautifully. I have replaced the mattress in it ( I bought a piece of thick foam at JoAnn Fabric and covered it with an old sheet), but other than that, just regular furniture polish. Our dog, 5 1/2 y/o, bloodhound/lab mix, loves it. I would not recommend it if your dog/puppy is still in the chewing stage.

A little too large for end table

This is a great piece and a very elegant dog crate but nowhere near to being any kind of end table - it’s almost like a mini dining table. If I hadnt assembled it ; I would have returned it and kept the 2 smaller ones but I endd returning the smaller ones and keeping the big one but it is a LARGE dog crate that serves no function other than that - or maybe to pile junk on top Update- closed my dog in here and went out one day - he had literally snapped the slats and broken out . One of my least favorite buys here.

So-So Crate

First of all, it's smaller than the listing would lead you to believe, so be sure to triple check the dimensions. I did not and am returning it because it's more narrow than the 36" Frisco wire crate we already have. Oops! At least Chewy's customer service is prompt and helpful. :)

Not sturdy

It looks nice, but it is definitely not 100% wood as it states in the description. Parts of it is, the top and bottom, but all the rest is not. A screw came loose in the night which is scary for our dog. Also, it does say not recommended for dogs with chewing habits, however our dog has zero chewing habits but still chewed a slat. The whole thing is useless to us now and we’ll need to replace it. However $225 in the whole for something we’ve barely had a month is very discouraging. I have noticed that now the website has more wooden options with metal bars. So I guess Chewy is seeing the problem with the wooden slats. If there had been that many options a month ago we would’ve gone that route. I would say this piece is only suitable for very small dogs, and they shouldn’t even make them big enough for anything over 10-15 pounds. In that case, your dog will probably not so well in it

Great Space!

My dog loves using a crate as her den. We wanted more table top space and since her crate is usually in our living room, we figured a 2-in-1 crate would be perfect. My dog LOVES it! It’s a little bigger than her previous crate, but she seems to love the extra space. Setting it up was also super fast and easy. I would only recommend it for dogs who are already crate/house trained and are low energy. It’s made of cheaper material on the siding, which makes sense why a dog would be able chew into it easily if they’re not crate/house trained, have high energy, and are heavy chewers. Those factors seem to be evident from any negative review. But, the cheap siding material only causes concern for potential damage when we’ll relocate and have to move furniture around. Otherwise, it gets the job done!

Very Functional!

I bought this because the space at my new house is a little tighter. This seemed like a good compromise for a night table/ crate for my dog when needed!

Don't use a drill for screws - wood cracks

This crate is beautiful and blends in like a piece of furniture. It was super easy to assemble and I had to issues understanding the directions (not sure why there are negative reviews about that). As a bonus, the tray from my dog's wire kennel fits inside. If she does have an accident of some kind, there won't be an issue with the wood staining. The only thing that I can see would be an issue is the lock on the front - it is pretty cheap and easy to open. If my dog tried hard enough, she could get out. Overall, this was a great purchase and I love it! Highly recommend.

Looks great but not for chewers

The pros are that this is very attractive and fairly straightforward to assemble. It fit into our decor perfectly and really looked at first glance like just another end table, rather than an ugly wire or plastic crate. Unfortunately, the temptation to chew on the wood was too much for our dog. She is crate trained and not normally destructive, but hours of access to chewable wood was beyond her restraint. Within a few months, it was in such bad shape that we had to go back to her regular crate. This would be a good solution for dogs who are not at all interested in chewing wood, but I would skip it for puppies or power chewers.

Nice but best for a very tame dog

This pet crate is okay for a smaller dog but I feel the latch is a little wimpy for a full sized dog. It is also hard to get open in the middle of the night when it's dark to let the pup out becuase of the way the latch is. I'm currently thinking of a new way to latch it with new hardware becuase it's that frustrating. The crate is best for a dog that will just get on and lay down, my puppy will probably chew through the spindles sadly. It looks really nice compared to a metal grated crate but I am concerned for the longevity of use. Also the bottom doesn't seem water proof at all and with a puppy that kind of sucks since he's still leaning to potty train. Puppy pads seem to work well in it as long as he doesn't move them out of the way.

PERFECT except that the wood swells when damp.

We REALLY love this crate. In our house, it's used for a 10lb small dog. He's in there 2 hours when the cleaners are here and every night from 11pm-9am because he gets very anxious after we go to bed for the night. He's taken to it so well. Every night he hops right in and falls fast asleep. We even feed him in there sometimes. It's the perfect size for him, his bed and two small bowls. I do have a complaint that they didn't think about the fact that dogs shouldn't be without water... And that any water that splashes out of their bowl will swell this type of wood.

Nice crate! Good quality but not chew-proof

Well, appearance-wise this was exactly what we expected. The large one is truly large but we think it is the right size for our growing Australian Shepherd. Unfortunately, he is not super fond of his new digs and has already chewed up the interior door. It isn't super visible from the outside but I'm sad. I bought some chew deterrent spray and he promptly peed on both the inside of the kennel and the outside. He's not a fan. In any case, the crate is actually well constructed and was a breeze for my husband to put together. I'm hoping we can touch up the chew marks and make it tolerable (for everyone).

My dog's forever home!

I love this crate! It looks like a beautiful piece of furniture. Most importantly my 70 lb bulldog loves it. I was a little worried because he's closed in with this crate and he's use to a large open crate. I had nothing to worry about, he loves it and when he is anxious it helps calm him down. With that being said my dog is 5 years old and I crate trained him as soon as we got him. So I'm not sure if this would be a good starter crate for a large breed dog. Not that it's flimsy but it does feel as if it might not be able to withstand a dog who doesn't feel comfortable inside a crate yet. I could see how a dog could destroy it. So I would recommend gettin them a starter home before you Buy his forever home.

Wow! It was better than expected for the price!

It was a beautiful piece of furniture. My two dogs love it and so do my wife and I. It goes perfectly with our family room furniture. There is plenty of room in it for our tiny poodle and our chi weenie. The solid sided lower portion of the piece allows protection from drafts and the open rails above allow for ventilation. We r soooo happy with the beautif

I used this pet crate end table when my puppy just came into our home and wanted to be with the family downstairs when he wasn't in his crate in my bedroom. It was not only the perfect fit for our living room, but I found it quite easy to carry around with me in the car when we traveled. So much easier than the large wire crate and just big enough to make him feel warm and cozy. When my puppy turned into a large golden retriever and could no longer use this pet crate, I started using it in the winter for my Tunisian tortoise! It was perfect because his habits in the winter include hibernating. It gave him just enough privacy and me the secure feeling of being able to look in on him... Plus, he got to stay in the action if he wanted some attention. It was very well-made, easy to put together... And lay flat. I could not find it anywhere else at a lower price than Overstock.com! Not only that, but Overstock.com offered such a wider selection of this end table pet crate than place else. Thanks one more time Overstock.com!

I am SO DISAPPOINTED with this crate. I for sure that I was going to get an absolute awesome cage that would look so awesome based off reviews..... but I guess its a matter of which one you get. Multiple things wrong with mine; it had a huge crack on the top of it, ran almost all the way across the top table part. I was missing a piece to connect the door properly - it was like a spring thing according to the book(which directions were like ikea's )- my husband had to rig it for now so the dog cant push it out. The structure of it is just POOR! The top table part does not even lay evenly across the top- the holes for the connection to the sides are pre-drilled and they DO NOT line up - so the Right side of the top hangs over while the left side shows the side walls from the top looking down. It doesn't sit evenly on the floor either- so its lopsided like- just POOR QUALITY! I will try and upload photos if I can tonight- starting writing review and didn't take them . I CAN SAY THE SIZE WAS IDEAL; I have a 55lbs AST and its comfortable for him.hope I get great service to fix these issues! for $*** I am NOT HAPPY ! ****** UPDATE CUSTOMER SERVICE took care of the issue right away! I am giving another change to get a new one- maybe this one was just a rotten apple in the bunch!

Gorgeous room defining crates!

These solid wood pet crates are gorgeous and well built! High quality! Deep espresso with a sheen! My 20 year old daughter assembled both in an hour! Great price! My one Yorkie won't come out of this crate -he loves it! Ordered the small and my medium sized Yorkies have plenty of room even with cushions and blankets! Just be ready to make tiny predrilled holes bigger with drill bit little bigger than size of screws or you'll need the Hulk to get screws in! Just be careful not to drill through to other side! That's my only small complaint! Definitely recommend- you will not be disappointed! Gives room put together look! See pics. Came packed well with no damage and arrived quickly! Whoever designed these are a genius! Love, love these crates!
