Nice machine

Nice looking. Efficient machine. Exactly as advertised and demonstrated by Seattle Coffee Gear. I have the same quibbles. The grind container doesn't have place holder so you have to careful to position it correctly. And you have to hold down the grind button but it is really only 30 seconds of your life. The grind size button is also not really user friendly if you want to change grind size often. Overall very happy with it.

Purchased Eureka Mignon Filtro grinder in February 2024.

Best value for money at its price point

The build quality is immediately obvious upon removing the Filtro from the box. I say this because it feels like it weighs more than I do and the only plastic parts are the catch bin and the hopper. The body itself is the same body used for the $650 espresso grinders.

The Eureka Filtro Coffee grinder is an excellent match for my Moccamaster.

Easy to adjust; Consistent grind

We're a household of longtime obsessive-compulsive coffee lovers (we roast our own) who use various manual pourover, aeropress and moka pot brewing methods. No espresso brewers here. The Eureka Mignon Filtro is a perfect match which -- once we established a grind baseline -- is very easy to adjust/fine tune. Whatever the setting, grind is always perfectly consistent. The proof is in the ensuing coffee extraction and the rewards in marvelous coffee. Thanks to SCG for providing a demo video that is clear, objective and highlights some of the grinder's uniqueness. The Mignon Filtro is the best grinder we've used for home-roasted, manually brewed coffee.

Grind Consistency is Terrible

I'm extremely disappointed with the Eureka Mignon Filtro. I bought it hoping to find a grinder that could achieve a reasonably consistent coarse grind size for brew and french press. I don't make espresso so I'm not concerned with fine grinding. I want coarse, but I want it done consistently without too many small particles that can make the coffee bitter.

I've been using a Rancilio Rocky grinder for years and I absolutely loathe it in just about every way imaginable (other than it produces a very uniform grind for espresso). That grind, however, even at the coarsest setting was too fine to make good coffee in my Moccamaster KBGV Select (it had too many fines and tasted over-extracted).

Great grinder

Great grinder! Just wasn?t a good fit for me. I realized I liked a stepped grinder better than a stepless one.

Works for Espresso

Eureka Mignon Notte (for espresso) was out of stock... So I bought this Filtro as an alternative. Luckily it still came with the "old version" 50mm burr dedicated for espresso!

As good as it gets for the money

This is my perfect grinder. Super consistent. Dead simple. All kinds of aftermarket ecosystem. The right price.

It is a professional grinder

Simply amazing!! I would recommend this grinder to all coffee lovers.

Bad Apple?

I really want to love this grinder. Performance was initially solid, then after a few months I started getting a LOT of chunks/boulders and fines in what had been a proper V60 setup. Multiple adjustments, cleanings, removal of top burr set, changing coffees, and the issue remains. I'm sending it back to SCG for 'repair' - I applaud the customer service so far, but I'm quite unhappy with having to pay return shipping myself on such a hefty unit.

Excellent grinder for filter brews

I've been using this grinder fairly consistently for roughly 8 months now and I love it. I used it for pourover, french press, and drip coffee and it never fails.

Love the Filtro. Simple, fast, pretty quiet, great looks, and excellent grind quality. I've had this grinder for a little over three months and I'm in it for the long haul.

exit chute clogs easily

This is an update to my previous review. The grounds chute keeps clogging up and renders the unit almost useless. When it clogs, grounds still get forced out, but before they do they get ground even smaller. When I open it up and take off the front plate the exit from the grinding chamber to the chute is always covered by grounds. i removed the anti-clumping screen, and checked again after 1 or 2 grinding sessions (30 grams of medium roast about 1 week old) and it was already about 1/3 to 1/2 covered up in grounds. I ended up replacing this with a Comandante hand grinder. I was pretty disgusted with the performance of this unit. I read a thread on another site where someone had the same issue and done a fair amount of work to resolve this. Not good.

This grinder is a nightmare. My husband purchased on major sale from SCG and I can see why. The grounds receptacle does not sit cleanly/flat against the grinder spout/dispenser and grounds get EVERYWHERE.. This design flaw results in a lot of waste and is a pain to clean up constantly. I’m ready to throw it in the trash bc it’s creating more mess than it’s worth.
