Everdure by Heston Blumenthal CUBE Charcoal BBQ - Orange

I have given this 4 stars as I thought that it came with the Roasting Hood. I now understand that to get the Roasting Hood you have to buy a variation of the Cube called Cube 360 which includes the Hood.

Surprisingly true to description

I just used this grill yesterday. It was very easy and the heat was perfect. I had a hangup about using grills and this, I don’t need to be nervous. The Greek style chicken skewers were lovely and the clean up was easy, too. I couldn’t get everything off, but all in time.

Excellent compact charcoal grill

The Cube is a very compact charcoal grill and has features which make the whole process of set up a breeze. The food / storage tray is excellent and provides enough room for steaks and most importantly chicken & veg skewers, which fit perfectly.

Best BBQ I've Ever Owned

The quality of this bbq is excellent, so easy to use and store away. The ability to take the bbq away with everything that you need inside...perfect! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to have a bbq virtually anywhere.

We Love It!

I bought this grill last month as a Christmas present for my husband. We're planning on taking some mini road trips this year and I thought it would be a great piece to take along. My husband loved how stylish and compact the grill was. We used it a couple weeks ago for day trip and it worked great! You won't be disappointed if you pick one up for yourself!

A great little Habichi grill!

This is a great little Habichi grill, suitable for a couple of steaks or a line of chicken skewers! Very quick to get going, and fantastic to charcoal grill anything you want to perfection! The hood is a great addition for longer cooks that require a higher temperature. Highly recomended.

Put up with the downsides for the aesthetic?

Nice and portable with great aesthetics but I have a fewww negatives (I'm a complete amateur so could be skill based too), 1. gets messy with baked on sauces, food juices etc during cook which is pretty obvious I know, but I think the compact space may make them bake on more, its not so great with the bright colour internal so just needs a pretty thorough clean after use. 2. airflow isnt great to coals, I'm using lumpwood so maybe briquettes would be better, nothing a small fan direct to coals can't help with. 3. I lost some pretty decent pieces of bacon down the grill due to the gaps so maybe could do with a grid grill. I bought the spare grill from the everdure website and it can sit lower to coals so I just stack the provided one on that to create a grid. 4. The coal basket is a bit fiddly to remove so if you want to take out the basket to cool down the bbq and extinguish the coals away from the bbq it has potential to tip over or flick coals out of the basket as you are removing it and 5. Can't really have a cool zone as size of grill is limited and related to that it's a bit annoying to add/remove coals to increase/decrease heat if required, adding is worse as judging height of coals to make sure grill sits flush can be tricky. However the positives are it does look cool, the plastic tray and chopping board are great, adding the hood was also a great purchase to be able to roast on/maintain heat, it cools down fairly quick and importantly it small BBQs really well due to proximity of grill to coals and compact yet adequate size of grill if able to utilise the whole area (not requiring an area for a cool zone)

Hans House

This is a really great little grill. It's lightweight, portable, and the top storage compartment is deep enough to hold a mess kit. I have stored tongs, a spatula, rag, cleaner, and a lighter in it. I was really impressed that the grill and charcoal got SUPER HOT yet the handles were still cool enough to touch (note: the side of the grill was very hot and will easily burn your fingers, so dont move it when its lit unless you have to). The only downside as others have mentioned is the lack of a built-in lid. As much as I like the detachable storage unit, I would have traded that for hinged lid. But I am coming here to add a hack I discovered. A 10x12 inch foil pan (the only size sold by our Costco) happens to fit perfectly over the grilling space. It worked great to hold the heat in and speed up the cooking. See pic- try it!

LOVE this!! Best BDAY Present ever!

Bought this for my husbands Bday. It was a DREAM to use. We filled up the tray with coal before heading out to the beach, and once we arrived it was just ignite and cook. Looks super cool. And is easy as to clean (saw a lot of bad reviews re cleaning but decided to risk it anyway!). We lined the bottom with tinfoil which worked great, and then I just wiped it down the inside orange area with a BBQ wipe (Sellys BBQ Tough Wipes (but probably any wipe would do)). Came up looking brand new - see image! Anyone out there who is stuck on gift ideas, this is a must have!

Heston's a genius

Outstanding design, easy to clean and very easy to use. Really efficient cooking generating an amazing amount of long-lasting heat. Perfect for our small family. We've done everything from steaks to a pork loin roast. Always turns out delicious. Get yourself a meat thermometer and never go wrong.

[Rewarded Review] Perfect for couple

Let me say first I was skeptical with this grill, but the perks are great. Haven't taken it on the boat yet, but this will be the one. It's small. It's light weight. You can store food inside until you reach your destination. The handles are great. This grill easily fit 4 burgers. Maybe 6, but I didn't chance it. The cleanup was a snap. Can't wait to take it on the boat!

[Rewarded Review] Perfect for travel and camping

This Cube charcoal grill is great for travel and camping! It's small enough to pack but holds quite a bit of food. 4 - 6 full size ears of corn fit easily. 2 - 3 steaks, etc. Charcoals heat up quickly and the handles stay cool to tough. It is a bit heavy but not so much you can't transport it. The cutting board is great and the container is good for holding utensils or for taking food from fridge to grill. It has a latch that holds everything onto the grill (as a lid). The only other thing I'd like to see would be a latch to hold the cutting board/lid onto the container as well.

[Rewarded Review] MUST OWN

This grill is in my opinion a must have staple for not just outdoor grilling but also as a in the event of an emergency to have on hand. It's compact and easily moveable. It has a serving tray, cutting board, grill and easy to clean up. I'm so excited because it comes in handy for grilling but also in the event of no electricity we can still cook. It snaps all together for easy storage and super easy to use. Unlike traditional grills that have to be left in the elements you can let it cool off and super easy cleanup you can safely store it in the house. With storms and such we can rest assured we can still eat. I've had no electricity for a week and sure wish I had this! We were snowed in and had to eat cold can food. This would have been super easy to set up and use. I plan on getting one for each of our family members as gifts and survival item for them as well. Even to have in a storm celler as backup in the event of today's catastrophes. You just never know.

It's a small grill, just very cool looking

Very well constructed and the cool factor is there. It cooks well, but a little difficult to clean if you cook something with sugar in it. I've had it a week and have already used 4 times. Fun to cook on. Update: The porcelain is cracked on the inside of the grill. Looks like it's due to the heat from my fire. Thinking that shouldn't happen after a half dozen cooks. A little disappointed.

Cleaning is a shocker

Not impressed at all. It looks the part, and the cool touch aspect is good. But cleaning is a killer. If you have a standard 'bare metal' bbq you can at least scrub it, but the orange enamel is delicate and I can see it's already degenerated from two cleanings. I tried lining the sides with foil, which helped somewhat but still left areas that took a good half an hour to scrub, soak, scrub, and soak again. I've contacted Everdure, discussed the issue but they still haven't contacted me back despite saying they would. As for BBQ'ing performance, this is a charcoal BBQ, so it operates like any other one would. Except that they stipulate no more than 500g of charcoal, which is very limiting.

Everdure by Heston Blumenthal CUBE Charcoal BBQ - Orange

Superb little BBQ. Used it on our recent camping trip and it was great. Easy to use and plenty of space to cook 12 sausages at one time or 6 decent sized burgers. We lined the white tray with foil to keep cooked food warm. BBQ kept hot for a long time even with what seemed like a small amount of charcoal so was still warm enough 1h later to toast marshmallows. Instructions were great, easy to assemble and clean. The base does stay cool and we used it on our camping kitchen table, much easier than using disposables on the ground. Only gripe is that it is a shame that the lid isnt designed to be a chopping board. This would make it perfect!

Everdure by Heston Blumenthal CUBE Charcoal BBQ - Graphite

I’m writing this review but as yet have not used the BBQ, that will be used on a trip shortly and looking forward to it. The BBQ itself is really neat, looks really well made and so long as its properly cleaned after use looks like it will last for a few years at least. I chose the dark colour scheme but there are a range of colours and it does look the part. Very portable particularly with the carry case but without the case it would fit easily in the boot. Despite it being portable it still looks like it will do a few burgers and sausages and should be enough for a feed for four. Of course you can always repeat use for the especially hungry. Looking forward to using this over the summer.

A Liddle Beaudy

An excellent little charcoal BBQ. It'll take a few tries to learn the way the unit heats and cooks, but I was pretty impressed at my first attempt. Seek out natural firelighters for starting. Allow about 30mins set-up ready for cooking. Very clever design. Even looks good after cooking. Perfect for BBQ on the balcony...beware of smoke until the charcoal starts burning correctly. I'd recommend looking at any BBQ from the Heston range based on my Cube experience.
