This is our second one. I don’t have a pic but we secured it more all over with decorative steal and painting it all a beautiful blue. We want deliveries and mail secure

Arrived with broken welds. Was impossible to fix on my own, had to lug the thing back to the store and switch it for whatever they had in stock, which frankly wasn't much.

Okay, but overpriced

I've had this box installed for about 4 months, and while the box itself seems sturdy and looks good, it's already had issues.

Very happy

Nice, sturdy, keeps the mail dry and big enough to take small packages. Needed to be mounted separately from the other mailboxes so that the mail lady could reach it at the proper height. Only problem was the locking mechanism - very stiff and hard to use. Also, can't retrieve mail from my car - it's too low.

extremely sturdy with a lock to help resist pilfering of mail. The door has an attached slide making it impossible to stick your hand in to grab the mail. This is a large capacity box. I have had the smaller version of this mailbox (which is still large) for 9 years without any problems other than minor rusting. I just wanted a larger box. My one and only mistake was not buying this larger box originally.

I returned the bronze mailbox because it looked like a grey box. Reordered a black mailbox which I have right now. Like the mailboxes, but they rust badly. They have to install stainless steel hinges for a start. Maybe I have to move into a different region, without snow and SALT!

Bought this model because it's the full size Oasis, not the Oasis Jr. that is sold in the store. This one takes the magazines and small/medium parcels (like prescriptions etc). It's a bit pricey after buying the matching 4"x4" pole for this model, but you get what you pay for. I took the time and installed the pole a week before the mailbox arrived. The concrete footer had set and ground covered over by the time the box arrived. The bronze color blends into the front yard and it installed easily with 4 mounting bolts. Slight leveling adjustments can be done by adding a few fender washers between box and mounting plate on top of the pole, if pole was not plumb. I had a problem with the lock mechanism. I called Architectural Mailboxes and they sent off a new replacement lock and keys the next day! Very pleased with this mailbox...and the mail carrier seems OK with it too. Should last for a long long time.

I looked at a few different locking mailboxes online. Chose this one for the price and size. Some of the less expensive locking mail boxes seem small. This one has a deep storage area and stronger locking mechanism. Made of heavy gauge metal it is very sturdy and heavy. I built a block enclosure for it. I would recommend this mailbox.

We bought this mail box because we had two incidence of mail theft. We live ten miles out of town and on a dead end street and have never had a problem until recently. We did the research and selected this mail box because it was large enough to get packages as well as good reviews on security. We get a fair amount of rain and it also handles that well. We got extra keyes made so that we can put them on all of our key rings. The mail box is 1/8 of a mile down from the house. We got some lettering made for the address and installed the mail box on the stand. That part took just a few minutes. We are delighted with the stand.

Safe, Secure, Sturdy. Bigger than my first apartment.

After having mail stolen for the last time I searched for a locking mailbox and after reading reviews came up with this one. I opted for the larger of the Oasis line and am very happy with my purchase. It will accept packages as large as my old box did. I also purchased the matching 5525 series post and used a #80 sack of concrete to set it. It is extremely sturdy. I changed up the mounting hardware that came with the post to stainless button head screws and stainless nylon locking nuts using the provided washers. The post was plumb but after mounting the box it was slightly sloped forward so I used 2 stainless washers to level it. The box is powder coated and the hardware is stainless steel which will be nice here in the Pacific Northwest so the hinges won't rust out.

Could be better designed

This is supposed to be a security type mail box, however it has an issue. The postal carrier pulls down the handle and puts the mail in. When the door is closed, the mail slides down into the secured box below. The problem is, magazines usually don't get into the secured area, thus, if any important mail was put in on top of the magazines, it may not get into the box. The back of the slide is too long which prevents the magazines from falling down. I am considering cutting the back of the slide to make more room for the magazines. Also, the instructions say to mount it level, however I have found that when it rains, some rain stays on the top and when the mail is delivered, some water can fall onto the mail. Not a lot, but some. I put a couple washers under the front bolts to raise the front just a little so the water will run to the back. Overall construction is good.

GREAT for incoming mail, LOUSY for outgoing mail

After all the reviews I'd read on this mailbox, I was excited to get it. It is extremely well-made, and it looks like it will last a very long time. I love the sheer quantity of mail that could be received in this mailbox with no issues - I could leave town for weeks, and as far as my mail is concerned, no one would notice.
