NOT A 56" GATE. AT BEST IT FITS A 49" OPENING.

I bought this gate to fit a 48.5" door opening because it said it was a 56" wide gate (I wanted a longer gate hoping it would be more sturdy rather than buying one that just fit). Came today and box says 49" wide-not 56". I put it together and the length of the bottom when all put together is only 42". The full length of the threaded spindles to pressure mount when fully opened are 4 5/8" so added to the 42" only comes to 51.25" and therefore cannot fit a 56" opening.

Peace of Mind

Durable and safe. Our 2 year old is tall for her age (size of a 3 year old). Bedrooms are on the second floor of our home and I needed and tall gate safe enough for our two year old to be in her room without escaping into the hallway. We do block with our bodies when unlocking and locking the gate so she doesn’t pick up how to unlock it anytime soon we also don’t leave her unattended for a long period of time where she is fiddling with the lock to learn how to use it. This is extremely helpful to have when I need to do quick things on that floor or even privacy in the bathroom without my toddler. We are also preparing for when the crib will be converted into a toddler bed. This will give us extra security at night time. I did Screw the cups into the door frame as suggested for maximum safety. Had no issues doing so I would purchase this brand and height of the gate again.

Gateway to Doggie Mom’s Peace of Mind!

We began putting the gate together in the doggie room. At first, it appeared that the top of the gate would not connect. We were all stumped. I suggested that we put the gate in the door frame to see if that would make a difference (and it did)! Once inside the door frame and pressure was applied by tightening up the four screws, we were able to secure the gate and the top closure worked perfectly! I was somewhat disappointed because there was no spring on the gate. Of course, that was not a necessity, but that extra feature would have been nice!

[Rewarded Review] Toddler parents dream

This gate is a toddler presents dream come true! At taller than any gate I’ve encountered before. It’s the perfect height to keep my toddler and toddler nephew out of places they shouldn’t be. It was super simple to instill, I was able to do it by myself in no time. I love how it locked via the top and at the bottom. Simply switch the lock down on both sides in secret and the toddlers don’t know why it won’t open even if the can stretch and reach the handle. I also love this gate for my dogs. I highly recommend this gate! Super sturdy, easy to install, multipurpose and damage free to your walls.

A little buyers remorse

I just installed the gate. It's very easy to install. I needed a gate to keep my dogs out of part of the house while I'm at work. 3 stars because it does what I needed it to do. Only three stars because of the following. Door only opens one way. Door won't spring shut. To open the gate you must move a spring loaded locking clip then lift a latch. This procedure requires two hands. Same procedure to close. The rollers that supply the tension to hold the gate up are a very cheap plastic. They keep the gate snug, but start to strip if you try to get them really tight. A determined dog or toddler could push the gate down unless you drill holes and use screws to anchor them in place. For $30 to $50 dollars more there are gates out with metal rollers and more convenient features. Works for me but wouldn't recommend.

Need to know install of extra-tall walk-thru gate.

The sales ad did not state that in order to securely stabilize this walk-thru gate that you had to screw the four plastic dowels into your wall or doorway opening. I am a dog breeder and the various gates I have purchased have been operated on gate pressure. So far, I have refused to make holes in my home and this gate slips and slides out of place very easily. While my puppy is young, this may work for a short time. My puppy will grow to be in excess of 75 pounds and is growing stronger and heavier weekly. I have to decide whether or not to make the screw holes to give the gate an unknown security level. I wish I would have known this in advance of purchasing this gate. Soon I will have to make a decision whether or not to exchange the gate for another type of gate or to screw in the dowels, which will make the gate a semi-permanent fixture. I wish I would have known this prior to purchase.

Broke after 7 months

Worked fine for about 7 months before one of the (too small) welds broke on the main walk through portion of the gate. Now I'm stuck with a broken gate that I have to figure out how to repair or replace it since their warranty is only for 90 days. The height is nice on this, but if you're expecting it to last, it probably won't. I personally wouldn't buy from this brand again or recommend that anyone purchase it if you're looking for a long lasting product. It's made obvious they don't expect it to last by the 3 month warranty offered. Broken after 7 months of ownership? I'd call that cheaply made.

Hello shoppers! My Regalo Gate came on time. I wasn't expecting it until next week, it came early. I have little ones who are 1, 2, and 3. They are very smart, but however they couldn't figure out this one. It keeps my little ones safe. I thought pressure Mounted meant you would have to just twist the knobs on the end, you actually have to screw these in on the sides. Only thing I don't like is my 3 year old twist the ends and it makes it uneven and makes it loose, but it hasn't fell off or caused them harm, and I don't have the nails on, I bought the wall Nanny from Walmart, and I have it in my hallway, it's better if you fit it in a door way to a room, if you're not going to use nails and be stubborn like me. If you put in a hall. Make sure you follow the instructions Manuel and use nails. Installation was quick and easy. Just take a look at their mischievous faces. You know they're up to something. I highly recommend to keep your little ones safe.
