Very cheaply made. My order of 2 of these, both missing the main boards required to put it together. After a while on the phone, it got handled, a few more steps and I now have 2 complete sets. CHANGE The wrong parts were sent, so needless to say it ended up in the trash USELESS
The dividers are cardboard, I expected wood all around. They do have a nice system to hold things together, but I was hoping for something more solid.
[Rewarded Review] Great product
I'm happy with the purchase and especially the cost...I would have loved to have non cardboard inserts as opposed to having real wood that I wouldn't think be so flimsy. But overall great and happy with it!
Fellowes 12 Compartment Organizer, BAD Quality
I was very shocked to receive this organizer only to realize it has paperboard dividers ( VERY BAD QUALITY) which is very annoying trying to put together and do not know how long it will last. Very disappointed
Program Assistant
We have a couple of these in the office, some for several years, and they are great. High quality frame, each compartment holds more than 250 pieces of paper, and the corrugated (cardboard for those of you who don't know what corrugated is) holds up just fine. Since the description does not say "suitable for hanging on a wall," we use them on countertops and on top of filing cabinets. I'm ordering another one for the office as I am quite pleased with the ones we already are using. Assembly is easy, too.
Poor quality
The quality is poor. The description makes you think it’s all wood but the shelves are cardboard. When I received it by ups and opened it a couple of days later to put it together it was damaged and dowell rods broken. It is being returned!
12 Compartment Sorter
Very happy with my purchase. I was looking for a smaller mail shorter and this totally fit my needs. The dividers are made of card board fyi. For my use that was fine. I found it to have easy assembly.
Disappointed....
I guess I should have read the reviews before I ordered this product. The dividers are flimsy cardboard, I am sure they will not hold up....or hold the forms I need to put in there! Seriously disappointed in the product, especially since it wasn't cheap in price!
Fellowes® 12 Compartment Sorter
The size and structure are exactly what is needed for the project; however, disappointed that the dividers were cardboard-type material ... not sturdier.
Customer Review for 12 Compartment Literature Sorter
I was quite disappointed in this product. My goal was to hang it on the wall. The construction is mainly cardboard making it impossible to do this.
Great Product but a little pricey
Great design and color. However, for its price, I expected all material would be made of at least pressboard, but not; the inner dividers/divisions are made of cardboard; this makes the product too pricey. Product still serves our purpose of a nice-looking, color coordinated mail box.
Terrible Quality
I am so let down. These organizers were so expensive! $100 each and they came banged up and broken in the mail. Not only that but I expected the whole thing to be solid plastic material so that it would be sturdy. The outside is plastic but the inside dividers are folded cardboard! Yuck! Those will not last long. The little black plastic labeling pieces across the front are terribly flimsy and easy to break as well. I want my money back. :(
Quick additional storage
The quality of this product is not the best. Our office had one that we have been using for 3 years and just got a second to match it. For the price, this product does the job just fine.
poor quality, not sure it will last
I purchased this to use as a sorter, as shown in the photo. What the photo does not show and description does not specify is that the slots in the middle are constructed of cardboard. Not fiberboard, cardboard!! The cardboard isnt even flat, as you are required to fold it to fit into the slots when you put it together. Addtionally, the packing it came in was not reinforced enough and one of the outer slats was dented before we even put it together. Once we constructed it, the item would not sit level. We are using it for now, because it required glueto put it together and I am not sure how to get it back in the box, but I am skeptical it will last long, even though it is only holding paoers!
Misleading Specs
Disappointed by the misleading product description. The internal shelves are cardboard rather than particle board. They are flimsy but adequate for small items. The product was not so bad that we would choose to return it but it won't hold up to heavy use.
Not good for tabbed folders
Pretty easy to put together, fairly sturdy even though partially made of cardboard. However, I had intended to use it for manila folders with tabs and the openings aren't really wide enough - the folders are slightly bent. Also, $60 seems a bit steep for a few pieces of particle board and some cardboard.
We bought this item for our office receptionist and love it. It serves its purpose. We hung it over her desk for the paperwork to give to clients. It was easy to put together. If you are thinking about buying this product, we definitely recommend this Literature Sorter.
Was disappointed
I bought two organizers, and the first one went together well. The glue for the second organizer was terrible. We removed the clamps after gluing, and the frame collapsed. We had to make a trip to a hardware store and buy carpenter's glue. I was very disappointed. The back of the organizer is cheap cardboard. The shelves are cheap cardboard. I will probably not buy another unless i want to use up the glue. For the price, it's not a bargain.
Terrible Design
Very disappointed in the quality. While the exterior is sturdy laminated particle board, the dividers are made of cheaper cardboard than the box it came in. The small black plastic channel that attaches to the front lip of the cardboard makes it difficult to slide papers out easily. I would suggest the Storex 12 compartment divider that Staples sells. Fellowes should stick to shredders.
Desktop Organizer
I was surprised with the quality of this, especially for the price. The outside is very nice, sturdy and easy to assemble. However, the inside shelves are a disappointment ... very thin stock card? I would say it will not be long before I will need to reenforce the bottom of each compartment.
