Parts WILL melt!
Don't do it! We remodeled our kitchen two years ago and purchased all new Gallery line appliances including this dishwasher. It started leaking from bottom of the door a few weeks ago. We thought it was just an easy fix and purchased a new bottom door gasket and rubber door seal. That wasn't it. We then looked into the issue online and discovered countless negative reviews on this same issue. It's clearly a manufacture engineering flaw to have a plastic wash arm cover near the heating element. After reading complaints we looked at ours and sure enough both wash arms are cracked/warped from heat which causes the water to shoot directly at the door causing it to leak. Replacement parts are over a hundred dollars and even those will not last long with this defect. I'm contacting the CPSC and hoping recall a can be issued. Save your money and don't buy this Frigidaire product.
Big mistake
I'll start by saying, shop the old fashioned way for a dishwasher. Truly do that. This is the by far the worst dishwasher I've had on my life. I don't know where to start. the parts that hold plates at the bottom might as well be non-existant they are so short. "Pushing" the bottom rack in doesn't happen, you need to lift it in, you'll see. It isn't off a track, because there is no track. Why they didn't make the door and bottom of the dishwasher at the same level, your guess is as good as mine. Does not hold as many dishes as my last, and is the same size. This one was built with non-convenience in mind. I so wish I didn't shop on my phone for this. I figured all dishwashers are going to be similar. This one does take the cake. I learned my lesson. I would have returned it, but after paying 150$ to have it installed, who knows what it would cost to uninstall....and I'm old and decrepit with no truck to haul it back. I absolutely HATE the thing. Live and learn. Go look, you'll be glad you did. Promise. The best thing about it, is the blue light that shines on the floor to indicate that it's done and clean. Cleaning rating is about 4.5 stars, the fabulous blue light 5 stars, everything else gets zilch in my book.
Gallery DO NOT BUY
Bought the Gallery dishwasher and it has been the biggest disappointment ever. The shelves are the most UN-user friendly ever!! The spokes on the bottom shelf do not line up, so it’s very difficult for your plates to even fit properly. They fall over, rub against each other, etc. The silverware holder has openings on the side to when you put things in it, if you aren’t very careful, they fall out the opening. The top shelf has such badly shaped spokes, you can’t put bowls or anything on it without spacing everything out (so it doesn’t get broken). Glasses don’t even stay in place. You can’t hardly get the shelves in and out either. So, when you’re trying, it just makes things fall over and you have to pull it back out to try again. Had it a year now and hate it as much today as I did the first day. Even the repairman said it was terrible. DO NOT buy!!
Dishwasher decent, sent wrong model.
The dishwasher itself it pretty decent so far. There is LED that shines on floor to tell you the status (blue means washing, green means done)
Cheap build quality
Most people buy goods, see that they work once, and come give a five star review. I am doing the reverse. If this thing manages to work without issues for a full year I will change this review to five stars. The build quality on this is so cheap I was shocked. All plastic tub. Plastic interior. Light as a feather. The underside has no pan to catch leaks. The mechanical parts, like the pumps etc, occupy about half as much space as our prior Frigidaire Gallery model, and is primarily plastic not metal. There is clearly no grinder, so I worry food and other particles will clog the pumps. The door is counter-weighted with springs and string. Yes, actual string that looks like it is cotton and will probably rot. The metal on the dish trays is so thin I worry it will bend. The drain hose is all plastic. No metal winding to give it structural strength, though it seems pretty tough, it os clearly not as tough as our prior gallery model. There is a cost threshold below which you just don't get a reliable appliance. That goes for everything: toasters, washing machines, dryers, microwaves. Overall I worry that I've paid too little to get the bare minimum. If this thing does its job for a year I will come change my review.
Cleans well but some quality control issues
The dishwasher cleans well and is fairly quiet. I expect nothing more or less of a dishwasher. I did have some issues at the beginning. The first unit had a crack in the bottom of the tub that allowed water to leak out during a wash cycle. This is not due to Lowe's delivery as the packaging was in perfect condition and installation was done carefully. I can only surmise that the crack happened during manufacturing. Lowe's exchanged the unit for a new one without an issue. The new unit has no leaks so far but upon opening the door on the second day of having the new unit a door hinge cable snapped on one side. while this doesn't affect the dishwasher washing dishes it's just the principle of a brand new appliance having things break. Frigidaire (Electrolux) has scheduled someone to come out for a service appointment. I was hoping they would just send me a new cable (as I'm handy) that is a $3 part on their official replacement part site. I would still recommend this dishwasher as these types of quality issues are the same across all manufacturers so I would expect similar issues with any brand
