The product is too good , easy install though I have engaged gazebo installation team from outside company . The only problem I have noticed is the plastic cover for the window rather glass or some good material - felt it’s an easy one to be torn . Overall all worth , thought it came to 5.5k. ( incl tax) with the installation price. Still to fix some battery powered led lights and fan is needed during summer time .

Good product overall

I like the structure, overall. However, the "windows" are only a thin film and do not seem like they will last. The felt liners for the roof panels do not stay in place while sliding them in place. Otherwise, it seem to be a good product. I will write an update after I see how it holds up to windy conditions.

plan before you buy

I've had mine since 2016, 8x16 . it is very nice but for Timmins the roof is not strong 1/4" hail balls made a few holes. I added and additional roof corrugated plastic panels now the snow slides off. the plastic panels cracked about 1 year after warranty. i called the manufacture and would have to buy new panels. at that time i paid $3757.52 with tax for the unit. Canadian tire did not sell these at the time of my purchase.

Well for the price I paid I was hoping it would be a little better built. I have to say that the windows and the roof are flimsy. I guess for me it was either pay someone $10k or spend $4k for this unit. I think its a good buy, keeps the rain out and we can use it for many things. I tossed an old couch, table and TV, we like it more thank we did at first. We also added hardwood. floor. We are happy with purchase.

Love our new sitting area

Love this room. It adds such a nice sitting area to our home. Airy as all windows open up or down. It looks nice and is solid in structure. The colour blends well with home colour and natural landscape settingof yard. We just set it on deck as opposed to cement foundation and this worked well. Husband and I constructed main frame together and husband put roof in himself.took 3 days and constant time not 2. I like how sides had “slide bars” to join together not screws and this made it very fast to go together.

PENQUIN 16x10 EXCELLENT !!!

BEYOND PLEASED WITH THIS KIT. The engineering is quite good. The packaging (5 heavy gauge cardboard boxes) was robust and no damage to parts is likely. All screws and bolts vacuum packed and well labelled. Instruction sheets were good enough, but you have to read between the lines and figure some details out as you go, but otherwise their customer service will answer the phone and give you the answer. Impressive!

Love it!

We love our sunroom! We live in Eastern Canada and are able to use it 3 seasons of the year plus, in winter, we use it to store a small, battery snowblower, snow shovels, lawn furniture, etc. We would recommend bracing the roof if you're in an area that can get heavy snow in winter though. We bought a 10'x12' and put it on our 10'x16' deck. We set our bbq on the remaining 4' of deck space and put one of the doors on that end to open to it ... perfect! The only things we don't like ... the dark coloured window panels in the doors and the window closures. We old folks find it hard to get down that low to raise the windows from the floor level!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT IS NOT STURDY AND DANGEROUS. I hired handy through Wayfair to come install this structure, multiple people came out multiple times trying to figure it out. No one from handy could figure out how to attach it to our house, even when we paid extra for this service. Trying to figure all of this out took over 30 days, which means they won’t allow us to return it now. So basically, 5,000 dollars has been stolen from us and we can’t get it back. Now, because it was never able to be attached to the house, it BLEW OVER IN THE WIND. I will repeat. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT. You will most likely end up regretting it. This could have easily killed one of our dogs if they were outside and nearby it when it fell over. We are extremely disappointed in the service of wayfair, handy, and the quality of the product. Obviously we believe we should get a full refund because of the trouble this has caused us. But, Wayfair isn’t even willing to do that. Will never buy a product from them again.

Needs Improvement

Arrived quickly and free freight Via Fed Ex Semi. All on one 600 pound pallet. Instructions are very unclear on certain parts. Several parts mislabeled. Windows are thin like a roll out cellophane. Certain screw holes are drilled wrong. Doors don't slide easy. Lock latches on doors don't line up. Retractable ceiling panels all show light through seams and will all probably leak. Going to remove ceiling panels and put on a solid steel roof. Overall it is a nice looking outside enclosure but not waterproof or bug proof.

The finished product looks nice but could be a much better product. A rewrite of the instructions could make the installation much easier. I suggest a complete walk-thru before beginning. For example, moving step 12 to step 4 would make adding the doors simpler, plus attach the door bottom track before sitting the door in place. There were also a couple of case where a pair of holes for screws were intended, but only one hole of the pair would line up. It's a 50/50 guess as to which hole to go with. The screws and bolts are also made of too soft of a metal and makes them too easily stripped even tightening by hand. I found replacing some screws with a harder steel type saved myself some frustration.

Cheaply made

We wished we had open the boxes sooner to check it out before building it. But we had a health crisis and had to put it off a few months. The directions were all in French. Went online and read directions in English. The room panels are cheaply made and directions were not as clear as they should be but thank goodness my husband is good at this stuff. BE WARNED: when we got to the end of the instructions, it says "This sunroom is not waterproof". Depending on the blowing direction of rain it does drip down the windows and puddles on the floor. We are caulking everything we can to protect it. We also bought a huge tarp to match the color and save on the wear from the daily sun over the years and from rain over the roof panels. We live in Washington State where it can get very wet. We used a lot of our own screws, the screws sent were cheap of course.

I Absolutely Love this Gazebo !!!! I waited almost a full year to review this, so I have used it through all 4 Seasons in NJ. We used a space heater inside enjoyed the Cold Winter months. Spring Fall we’re Beautiful. Summer got pretty hot inside, but I bought a Portable AirConditioner we hung two sun shades a fan inside the roof. This helped to keep it comfortable. This gazebo has withstood some very high winds also a lot of snow during a few Nor’easters this past year. I did use an expandable snow rake to keep the snow from getting too heavy on the roof. I added lots of personal touches and decor. It is now my favorite room to chill and relax in.

Well-designed but poorly made

We are disappointed with our purchase of the Penguin Gazebo Florence Add-a-Room.

I am so upset about the conditions of the gazebo I purchased from your company. The screws in the pre-screw parts are in crooked, nothing lies up properly, parts are bent and I have to straighten them out. The ribbets in some of the roof parts are not in correctly. We have had to make adjustments to so many things and we can not finish putting it together because somethings can’t be adjusted. I paid your company $5300.76 cash money for this mess. Holes don’t even line up correctly and in some place where there should be a hole there is none. If I seem upset, yes I am. I have made many purchases from your company and I truly trusted your company. This is a serious let down. Something needs to be done about this immediately.

Need an extra hand sometimes to install

Once I got this unit installed on my deck, I had a terrible wind (it is always windy here) that broke one of the bolts that was used to keep the roof on to the walls. My wife and I were up late at night to tie down the roof and it was a temporary fix. The next day I went to the lumber yard and bought 4 2x4 x 8ft and 2 2x4 x 12ft. I installed 2 uprights at the roof edge and put a 12 ft piece between them. Then I installed the same thing at 4 ft from the edge. The uprights are screwed into the deck. It is holding okay now and I hope the sidewalls withstand the winds (so far so good). As for snow removal off the roof, it is a bit cumbersome getting the snow (with a window washer pole) over the 2 2x4's but it works.

Not bad for the price but not waterproof

We purchased this Gazebo for our trailer. Large space to add more our door living without the bugs. The setup took us two days with four people. A few items to note. The sliding doors do not have screens so I will have to purchase an aftermarket door since they manufacture dos not have them. The instruction says to install the doors on the inside. This causes rainwater to run down the door and leak inside the room. I am going to mount the doors on the outside so the rain is outside.

Have had it for three years, comes with plastic clear windows and screens, use it all year long with portable fireplace in winter time. Excellent buffer coming out of family room sliding doors, Had a hail storm and it ruined roof, put holes in outer surface only, never had one drop of water during some serious storms. It is a convection oven in there during summer time. Replacing roof panels in fall, but adding solar reflecting film before installing panels. Get a snow joe car snow removal tool with expanding pole to clear roof from snow. We use it every day with four lazy boy outdoors recliners and tables. Best investment outdoors we've had.

We love the room so far, now that is up. Assembly was a pain due to the unclear directions, unmarked parts, missing parts and damaged parts. Actual pictures of the parts and assembly would go a long way. I'm skilled at assembling stuff like this and with my sons had to disassemble things a few times before we got things so they appear to be correct. There were some filler panels that they sent too many of one and 1 short of another. I made it work. One roof rail was badly bent and twisted even though there was no real damage to packaging. Have realistic expectations when you buy one of these. I was quoted almost 30k for a 3 season room. I didn't think I was getting the same quality so I'm not disappointed with it.

Good product, but installation took me 1 week. Should do...

Good product, but installation took me 1 week. Should do a better install manual OR send the color manual in email. Call Peguin customer care for better install manual pictures. That really helps as in step 1, part E3 install is not clear and hard to see how to fix. Customer care really helped with install as they sent more clear pictures as well as ready with more tech install support if reqd. Few screws are hard to put and the provided floor / anchor screws/bolts are only good if its for Concrete/masonary wall/floor. Overall looks sturdy and even in rain, water did not come in except in sides little bit. Overall happy finally. Though its hot inside of it in summer, but cools down a lot compared to without having anything.
