This product is supposed to be compression resistant, but please consider what you are installing. Although it says not to use with hardwood under 3 inches, I am using 3.6 inch boards and finding that it is difficult to install subsequent boards. This is due to the fact that when I nail into the tongue of the first board, it is compressing into the underlayment. Also, this product is quite dirty and easy to rip as you are moving around on it. The soundproofing seems to be pretty good. I hope I don’t have any problems after the install.

Wanted to try something other than rosin paper and settled on this. Used with 3/4 in hickory hardwood & 2 inch staples. This underlayment worked well, easy to work with.

This product is a firm compressed cloth material. Nice quality and works well with nail down hardwood flooring. It says you can glue down flooring as well but I'm skeptical. The installed flooring feels firm, "softer" and much quieter than the felt paper under other parts of the house.

No clear instructions. Put down under tile and it ruined my whole project. 250sq ft living room.
