Installed and working with LED outdoor lighting for the last few weeks. Be careful - Home Depot site showed a black unit, I received gray. Otherwise easy install in 10 minutes.

Notes on Daylight Sensor

Although you must wire it into existing light fixture yourself, it indeed will turn off your light during the day and on at night. It is easy to install as long as one has some various size wire nuts handy. If you don't... get them. Use black electrical tape to ensure connections do not touch and are tight. Red wire from this unit goes to black of existing light fixture. White wires get tied together.

Does the job - should last longer

I bought this to replace the one we put on an outbuilding maybe three years ago. Seems like this should have lasted longer than it did but it suddenly went bad. The new one is doing the job again but just not sure how long it will last.

The unit did not work under a light shade , that is it does not turn off during daylight no matter what time

Superior design product works well

Easy to install, and instructions are clearly written. Good diagrams too. The swivel feature is superior to the fixed position photocell I had previously as now the lamp post light turns on later and shuts off earlier than before. Good investment to upgrade the lighting around the exterior.

EXCELLENT FOR OUTDOOR LIGHTING

I have 250 of these installed, in Texas, with each one controlling a front porch 75W LED light, a side patio 75W LED light and a back garage 100W LED light all on this one circuit. No problems. They need replacement about every 6-10 years. In bulk you can get them for about $10 ea.

Handyman did not hook it up right and the lights...

Handyman did not hook it up right and the lights stayed on 24 hrs. The instructions were awful.

This unit was replacing another swivel mount that had lasted over five years. After completing the wiring the light would not ever turn off. Turns out I had a defective unit

Excellent product, a replacement for one damaged by falling tree limb.previous one lasted 18 years.

Not Reliable

We replaced our old, failed sensor with this one just 4 years ago and it has failed already. Something as simple as this should last a lot longer, IMHO.
