A great product! I broke the lens in an existing can light trying to replace the bulb. I went to Home Depot not sure what to expect. This part more than exceeded my requirements. It replaces the lens, exterior trim and the bulb in one part—it works with a dimmer switch, in bathrooms, and the light color has 3 choices—soft white, bright white, and daylight. And it is reasonably priced! It works in both 5 and 6 inch can lights.

Try as we might, we can’t get these fixtures to sit completely flush on the ceiling. Our lights flicker now with these fixtures in every room we installed them in. Even on the lowest brightness setting, they are VERY BRIGHT. I wish we had saved our old fixtures because I would remove these LED’s and reinstall the original hi hats. Very, very disappointing purchase.

Very easy retrofit replacement. I installed 13 lights very quickly and all worked perfectly. Heads up: Remember to select the lumen color setting before you mount it to make sure that all of your lights match in intensity and warmth.

Great product. Would not by any other brand. So far I’ve replaced all the light fixtures in the last three houses I’ve owned with Halo products. Alway with great results.

Easiest upgrade, ever

These lights are the easiest upgrade you can make to your home if you have can lights. Simply unscrew your old light bulb, screw in this light via its adaptor, hook into the can light, and slide in. Done. It took longer to write this than to install. Also cool that this light had 3 “tone” settings for your light; warm, cool, and natural, so you can decide which lighting works best for the room it’s in. Fantastic product!

An easy conversion from legacy bulbs to LED!

A great design, allowing me to easily convert from bulb-designed recessed ceiling light fixtures to LED. The LED fixture fits perfectly into the existing cavity which makes the replacement of the old fixture a breeze. The fact that the LED light will use less electricity and last much longer is the icing on the cake!

What a difference

I got this retrofit LED to use in an old recessed fixture that I have in my office. I originally used the 75W reflector bulbs that it was made for. Things have changed. Technology has improved and a few years ago, when they became available, I changed the bulbs to LED reflector bulbs which I have used since. The light quality was never as good as the original. Now that I have installed this retrofit LED that is specifically designed for this purpose I have a much better, well distributed, quality of light, of good color. The installation was simple, anyone can do it. The end result is not only updates an old fixture that would have been messy to replace, but looks good without the mess. .

Easy install

The Halo led retrofit downlight is easy to install. It comes with an Edison bulb adapter for an existing fixture. I do wish it came with a pigtail adapter to just hardwire. Selectable color options are a great feature depending on your application. Halo products are great.

Noticed the lights flickering at times. This can get annoying and distracting when using over time. Color temp is decent, however only three preset positions, not a large range of choices. The size, trim, style, ease of installation and price are all very good.

Super easy LED upgrade

I have recessed lighting in my basement drop ceiling. Adding this unit in to upgrade a can to LED could not have been easier. Unscrew the old bulb, screw in the adapter, and then clip the unit in. Took about 5 minutes in total (and only because getting the clips into the van is a bit tricky). I plan to get more to upgrade the rest of them.

Very easy to install

I picked this up last week to replace the light over my sink. I have wanted to go with a led light for a long time but did not want to call an electrician to have it done. This unit simply allowed me to unscrew the current light bulb and screw in this unit. It fit perfectly in the currently installed tube. I know have a much brighter light that is LED. The unit also allows you to select the type of lighting you would like by simply sliding the switch on the back of the unit.

Best in class!

I really like this light. I have about 20 of this style light in the house so have tried a few brands. This one is better built - it’s obvious on first look. One example is the gasket around the rim, had never seen that before.

Superb recessed lighting solution

This fixture is simple to wire and install and the programmable feature allows you to customize it to your needs and desire. I give this product a solid score for quality and simplicity.

Very good product

Overall I would say this is a very good product and I like the ability to change the color of the lights to whatever suits your tastes. The only reason i did not give this product a 5 star rating is that Halo should put a warning on this box that the LT56 3000-5000k does not fit the Halo H27 6 inch can light without some modifications to the light unit spring clips and the light socket mounting plate inside the can unit. It is possible to get it in there but it's a very very tight fit. Halo needs to shorten the spring clips on these lights a bit as they are about an inch too long. Overall though i think this is a good unit. It would also be helpful if Halo put a list of recommended dimmers that work well with dimmers. So far the dimmers i've used (lutron) all buzz, which is a known issue.

Our house was built in 1986. The light above the sink was the standard 6" recessed can that let in a lot of air from the poorly insulated space above. Not a lot of room to get to throw more insulation in. Solution, get a flat can light that seals the whole hole! I really like the fact there are 3 settings for brightness. No modifications needed with the standard bulb base attachment. Installed in less than 5 minutes. Hardest part was getting it out of the box.

It's got a 94 degree flood area. Install is quick if you have a light socket to plug it into and everything is pre- wired. I like the torsion springs they hold the light tight.

This is a very nice replacement for traditional recessed "can" lights. I installed it into a 6" can using the edison adapter. Very simple, took no time at all. I used the middle light color setting at first, then pulled it back down and moved the switch to the most yellow setting to match my existing lights. I have other brand LED replacements and I noticed immediately the quality difference in these Halo units. I especially like the use of metal for the area behind the LED and also the power supply is spaced up from the LED by 1/4" or so. Not sure why they did this, but I suspect to decouple the heat from the power supply getting to the LED. LEDs are semiconductors and being in that SC business for 40 years, the number one lesson is "semiconductors don't like heat." Reduces the life quickly.

Great LED retrofit for traditional pot lights. I have replaces all traditional pot lights with these LEDs and it cannot be easier to do. Very easy to install and they look great as well. They come with the trim attached to the light so its a perfect clean white finish on all the replacements. The screw in to the existing socket and slide the switch on the light to the desired brightness. It cannot get any easier then that. Very happy with this purchase and will purchase in the future.

Simply put, these Halo lights are fantastic. I recently finished my basement and have installed these throughout. Besides being dimmable and being able to be used as a shower light, the feature I like best about these lights is that you can select the color you want (soft white, bright white and daylight). The light can be installed in a 5 or 6 inch recessed cannister, secures in place with its torsion springs, and comes with a gasket that helps makes the housing airtight. If you are in the market for recessed lights, I highly recommend the Halo LT56 Series.
