Looks Great

When looking for a retrofit light, I viewed and liked the Halo-Cooper Lighting 4" LED Retrofit Downlight one. The 6.3 Watt with 50,000 hours with dimmable ability and wet location rating were some of the features I liked. Can't wait forthe retrofoit light by Cooper to arrive!

Easy install

I was pleased with this product and the easy the follow instructions for installation. It was rather simple to put in because of the easy to follow step by step guide. I like the color of the light and that it is dimmable. It has helped create a beautiful ambience in the room.

Very cool

This can change colors to match the mood. If I need to be awake I do the brightness setting. If its time to relax I might put on the warm setting. It was easy to install with a little bit of video help. I can’t wait to get more and do more areas of my house.

Amazing

This light is very easy to install and get it working. it looks great in my opinion as well. The space it is in is very well lite now. I am able to see everywhere in the room with out issue now. I like how it is flush with the celling as well.

Attractive and well constructed!

I installed this attractive and well constructed recessed light in our hallway art nook, replacing the same size incandescent fixture. It was easy to install, looks great and can be used with a dimmer, a huge plus for us! Thanks for making such a great product!

Easy install and very versatile

I really needed this downlight in my foyer. It was easy to install for it has this light socket adapter that you can just screw in and connect to the housing. I love that I have 5 selectable colors from soft to warm to cool that I can change with the seasons. Just flip a switch on the housing and the colors can be easily selected. The finish is bright white and really clean. It feels quite durable and the friction clips hold really well.

Color selection faulty

The trims are reverting back to 4000k color when the power is turned off and back on.

My preference with over 50 installed on current project

I use the different lumen output models in all of my projects because I can easily show the different light selections effect on task lighting, ambiance, general lighting or whatever meets a persons needs. Much easier than early on when I had to buy specific temperature range (color spectrum of light is what is emitted by a tungsten filament heated to 2700 Kelvin, 3200 K, 4100 K or 5000 K - other variations fo settings for different lights) ranging from warm orange to bright high blue content. Used 5000 K tubes in an exam room and it looked like a morgue - changed back to warmer. Same in the meat area of a grocery store. This is a great unit and I have not seen something I would rather use - always looking.

Impossible to install ground wire in retrofit application

There could only be one explanation for this product having received any positive reviews...the people that did the reviews did not install the ground wire.

Not happy with how the lights secure in the can....

Not happy with how the lights secure in the can. Already installed 6 light cans in basement. Very, very cheap and not well design system to hold the lights in the cans. I hope they do not fall out. Can't imagine an engineer designing such an inferior system . The light itself is fine, color temp. Is adjustable.

The advances in lighting just keep coming, and this is product is a fine example. It is light-weight, rated for wet locations, and has a clean white finish. The installation couldn't be simpler - just a round hole in the ceiling drywall, and it snaps in place. The selectable light temperature is a simple slide switch (accessible when the light is not snapped in place)

This is a very simple update for anyone that has an existing 4 inch setup. I had a larger can, so I had some slight modifications needed, but that was on me. Having the light socket adapter for the wiring makes this extremely easy as far as retrofiring and wiring the fixture. My wife really appreciated the ability to change the lighting around between more traditional type of light to bright white. A quick shift of the switch gives you 5 lighting options, so trying the various options is a simple process. Overall, very happy with the lighting update.

Really like these types of LED lights. You can adjust to color from mellow yellow to bright white. Don't have to keep looking for the right color for the room. It was also very easy to install, comes with a bulb adapter that screws into the old socket and then you spread out the 3 little tabs and push it up into the can. Only thing that was hard was had to attach the ground which was not really that hard.

The trim is very ascetic for decor. The color function of the light is simple to use, just slide the switch on the top of the trim. Installs easily, but the support arms have a tendency to move and not let the trim to stay in place. But overall it is still a good looking and working light. Color frequencies vary from bright white to a shade of pink. Dim-ability is a plus also. You do have to ground the trim with the housing.

I ordered this product as a replacement for a defective 4” LED fixture which I had had professionally installed a few years ago. It’s been flickering on and off for ages, and I finally figured out that it was the fixture and not our electricity. Due to the fact that the electrician installed our original fixtures, I did not know what brand they were, or what shade of white light would match properly. This LED replacement fixture has a variety of “Color temperatures” available, so it can easily match an existing fixture or set of fixtures. Installation is very easy with an existing receptacle, the orange plug snaps in to the orange wire in your existing housing, and the spring clips hold the light in place. This matches my other lights, and took just minutes to install. Recommended.

I have always had good luck with Halo lighting products. The body of this light is all metal and not plastic like many other LED trims. The color select feature is nice to have, to me not absolutely required as you will typically set it to the desired value and not set it again, though perhaps this feature would be nice to use should you end up changing another LED trim nearby and you want to match the color. The switch is on the back of the trim, requiring one to pull the trim out to set. The three metal tabs that hold the trim in place are a little tricky to use but it is still relatively easy to install. The box claims double life span, I guess we will see.

Used these upon my electrician's recommendation to fit into a shallow location in my basement ceiling due to HVAC location (therefore not requiring traditional housing). The light is adjustable to suit any taste - although I chose to use the warm setting, this light very is bright yet cozy. It's a sewing room and I was trying to avoid it feeling like the garage. :). Thumbs up!

I have installed several brands of LED can light inserts. This one is unique with its selectable color temperature with 5 settings from 2700K (warm white) to 5000K (daylight). I wasn’t sure if I wanted a whiter look in a small hallway than other places. Initial installation is with 3500K selected—midway between warm white and daylight. I may switch this light to 3000K to warm it up a bit more. So this is where the selectable color pays off. The installation is fairly simple but I found the three spring clips that hold this trim in the can to be a bit problematic. The clips are meant to stay at perpendicular to the outer rim but I found that they had a bit of a tendency to turn as the fixture was inserted despite the metal dimples meant to hold them in place. One other insert I have used has spring clips attached in a different manner and they worked better to hold the insert tightly against the ceiling. Maybe that design feature should be revisited. Other than this one issue, the insert seems well designed and well made.
