Lousy Brew
I have tried everything to brew a decent cup of coffee, but it always comes out too weak tasting like water. I am using fine ground Starbucks coffee in twice the amount I normally used in my prior coffee maker, but still too weak. I'm to the point I can't pack anymore ground coffee in the strainer cup, and still no flavor. With these results, I may as well not bother grinding the beans. This coffee maker isn't worth the money.

I had a "flex-brew" for a couple years - decided to drop the
Very quiet coffee maker
My husband loves this coffee maker. It's quiet and makes just enough for him. The opening is kind of tall and his cup doesn't go all the way to the top so coffee ends up splattering on the counter around the coffee maker making a bit of a mess. There is a metal shelf that comes out to use for a smaller cup, but it's too short for his preferred cup and seems a bit flimsy, so he hasn't tried it yet. Overall, he enjoys this coffee maker since he is the only coffee drinker in the house.
Not the best cup of coffee, but good
I wanted a single serve coffee maker but didn't want a bulky keurig. I decided to give this a try. It's best for small cups of coffee. i like a giant mug first thing in the morning and it just doesn't brew large or travel mugs as well. It also does pretty bad with freshly ground coffee. Must be the basket design? If I keep it small it works well. I like it overall.
This is one of the best coffee makers I've owned. The coffee tastes great and I get to use my go to brand. One the plus side there are 2 filters, so it reduces the sediment, on the negative side there's 2 filters 🤣 It's really not much of a negative as long as you rinse both of them out with each use, if not you'll wind up with water everywhere! Once I learned that I haven't had any more issues with leaks. I like that it fits travel mugs or you can adjust it to fit regular cups. When this coffee maker comes to its end I will definitely buy another just like it.
Love it!!!
This is a great coffee pot. I like how sleek it is and doesn't take up much room. I brews a perfect cup of coffee every time. It's really easy to keep clean with a damp cloth. Just follow the directions and rinse out both filters and you'll have no problems. I like how easy it is to adjust the size of the cup that you need. I love mine so much I bought my mom one.
So much better than k-cup machines
Finally retired my keurig because I was sick of barely warm coffee as well as the cost of k-cups, but spoiled now so knew I had to find something easy. This fit the bill! Not only do I get simple to make, pipping hot coffee… I also make a 14 oz cup in one fell swoop so no need to finish one cup and have to get up and go make another. This machine is so easy to use, uses cheaper to buy ground coffee (or grind your own from beans), and makes a piping HOT cup of coffee. Easy to clean. Looks nice. Absolutely LOVE it!!
second one to buy, I liked it so much!
This is perfect for single serve coffee without filling the landfills with kureg cups. I like that you can choose bold or regular brew. The instructions say to wash the filter cup once a week, but if you don't rinse it out after each cup, it can clog up and overflow. But just a quick rinse does it. We love this coffee maker for the two of us.
if i could give this pot a 0 for performance issues then i def would. it leaks everywhere every time i make a cup of coffee. ive tried everything to fix it but no use. ive checked the gasket, tried using less grounds and water, made sure it was level, u name it. even brewed a cup w just water and it still leaked from all 3 areas where the grounds and water comes thru. im attempting to contact hamiliton beach to see what they have to say abt it. so wish me luck. im hoping i just got a bad machine and they will replace it w one that doesnt ruin my cabinet so i can actually drink a cup of coffee at the end of the drew.
Not real great.
Coffee is weak even on the bold setting. I tried different combinations for the 3 weeks I owned it but the coffee was still weak. I believe it just brews too fast. My previous coffee maker was a cheap 12 dollar unit which took twice as long to brew but well worth the wait. You don't always get what you pay for.
Don’t Buy
This coffee maker is terrible.
Replacement for the same model; so far so good.
We bought this coffee maker as a replacement for the same device that lasted a little over 4 years. We had hoped that the replacement would have included the travel mug, which it did not. While the image shows the travel mug, the owner's manual does not list it as an included part. We like the coffee maker based on the previous coffee maker; would we have bought it knowing that the travel mug was not included; maybe?
I had the last one 11 years!!
The reservoir in back holds a 16.9oz bottle of water If you put a little piece of tape over the small hole near top back.. (see pictures) fit a tall 17.oz yeti or starbuck steel cup ,even a 16oz tall plastic coffee cup. Really hot coffee! Use your own ground coffee no filter is needed ..I fill the whole scoop with coffee. Press lower button and coffee will be alot stronger with slower drip. but still goes pretty fast. You can make a regular cup size of coffee by flipping the tray on the bottom over and placing it higher into the slot ..Had my other one for 11 years and loved it. .. this us 100% the same and happy they didn't change this one.
Don't think your getting the 14oz mug You don't
Price is good for this coffee maker.
I bought this as the pandemic started. I needed a new coffee maker and I thought I'd look for a single serve. I believe it was on sale also. Best ever. It's been over a year now and it is used daily for coffee mostly, but have even used to make tea. I appreciate that it is metal not plastic except for the lid. I have a metal black Starbucks cup which fits perfectly under it and holds 16oz. When I use a smaller cup, I flip the plate to change the height of the base that holds the mug. This option is great. I usually blend on Bold. It is quick and it shuts off automatically. It is easy to clean, well made and makes a nice cup of coffee and tea. I like this over k-cup models. I don't like the waste of k-cup plastic. The fact that I could use coffee I purchase by the pound was another deal maker. It is a small footprint on my counter. There is a hook on the side to hang the top filter, but I usually just clean it and put it back so it looks nice and doesn't take up any more space. Just a heads up, you might have to clean a few drops off the counter when you use a small mug on the tall mug base. Hardly any deterrent from buying this great coffee maker. I have recommended it to many friends.
may or may not purchase again
The coffee maker arrived broken. I would have returned it but I needed it for a camping trip and decided to use it as it was. The coffee maker makes a good cup of coffee but is kinda hard to clean after use. I would use it alot but I wish the maker would have given a discount since it arrived broken
If you like strong coffee, look elsewhere
I wanted something that brewed hotter than a Keurig with easier cleanup than my French Press. It get points for being able to wash all the individual parts and looking nice on the counter, and the coffee does come out hot. But the very first use it made a mess, overflowed, and dripped everywhere.. I carefully followed the instructions and used 2 Tbs of grounds with 14 oz of filtered water. It may have been a flaw in my machine, but I really think it's the design. It doesn't have enough room to add enough grounds to make a decent 14 oz cup of coffee. I use a really strong, dark type of coffee that, in any other vehicle, brews a perfectly strong cup when made according to directions. This machine says it can accommodate 2 Tbs of grounds to make 14 oz and has a "bold" setting, so I thought that should be fine. Nope. Any time I tried to use a full 2 Tbs, the grounds cup (which looks large enough) got too full while brewing and water overflowed all over my counter. Even when I kept the grounds to 1 Tbs, the grounds would overflow into the filter below the cup, which added to the cleanup. I could have lived with that, but using any less than 2 Tbs could only brew a decent cup that was maybe 8 oz or less. Returning and going back to my French Press.
Lukewarm Coffee
My travel mug does not fit under it. The shelf is too short for mugs and too tall for cups. Coffee grounds holder too small for a hefty brew.
[Rewarded Review] Great small coffee maker
Makes very good coffee. Great single serve coffee maker. Easy to clean. Has 2 brew settings for stronger or lighter coffee. Takes very little room on the counter.
It's getting harder to find a single coffee maker that isn't too tall for the space I have. Not only is this the perfect size it looks nice and has a small footprint. Note it does NOT use kcups, but I prefer to use ground coffee anyway. It actually has a permanent double filter that is helpful with coffee grounds. It can also be used just for hot water for tea or hot chocolate. Perfect reliable unit for my needs.
