Great quality and great looking!

I am a designer and I like to incorporate in natural fiber rug into the mix of a home. They add a lot of texture and character and don't fight with neighboring printed rugs. This is high quality, looks great and the price is a value as well.

Beautiful seagrass

I haven't put my rugs down yet. I have them out flat to relax a bit. But they are beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. They give a beautiful texture that is going to go great under my table and in the kitchen and back entry.

Very pretty!

It’s very beautiful and I think will hold up in the long haul. However, it’s not comfortable to walk on at all! Very scratchy. I will be layering with a nice soft Karastan rug which will contrast beautifully with the seagrass base. For a bottom layering rug, I’d say it’s really great. Also, I ordered a 9 x 12 and it’s not quite 12’ which was a little disappointing. But for the low price I am very happy.

Very disappointing

We purchased several of these rugs. And sent them back after opening them.

Seagrass rugs

I love the look of the rugs, but they will not lay flat after 1 week. They also have a lot of knots that stick up and show, especially in the 8x10 size. They are thick loose ends of the fibers. The binding matches perfectly and I am happy about that. I just wish they would lay flat. They are a tripping hazard, for sure.

Seagrass entryway rugs with border

Not very soft under feet, but very neat and modern looking. Give the edges time to flatten out. Using them in a couple of entry ways. Haven't had them very long, so don't how they spot clean if needed (especially on the boarder which is beige and likely to show dirt). There's no dirt to worry about that sheds/gathers under the rug like jute -- the seagrass is cleaner, but this would also depend on the type of backing on the rug. I would buy again.

Well Made Rug, Beautiful Texture

This is a well made rug with a beautiful basket weave pattern that adds the right amount of texture to the open concept kitchen in our lake house. There was no odor to the rug at all when I opened it. The only problem I had was getting the short edges to lay flat, but they did so on their own after a couple of days unrolled. It does shed a little but I've owned seagrass rugs before so know to expect this for the first few weeks after unrolling it. Otherwise, if it lasts as good as it looks and holds up well to foot and pet traffic over time, I'll come back and update to 5 stars, but couldn't honestly give it 5 stars until I know how well it wears over time.

Not bad….

Good enough…. My last one was from Natural area rugs who I can’t find. The quality was way better. Tighter weave heavier backing, solid all around. This one has a looser weave. Backing is not heavy enough to keep it in place and the corner binding is too thick. I have tripped on it several times. Will need to tape it down. Paid the same as the last one. But overall looks nice.

Not worth it

I give this 2 1/2 stars. The best thing about this rug was the price. It replaced another black border seagrass rug that had worn out fabric. This rug was inferior in every respect. The edges are thick and lumpy and will not lay flat. I trip over it daily. The color has a greenish cast and much less attractive than the previous rug. There were a variety of loose ends sticking out, which I was able to repair by shoving them back into the weave with a flat nosed screwdriver. It still has a grassy smell, although that has improved after several weeks. It is an OK rug, but I would not purchase again.

Terrible all around!!!!

These rugs are inexpensive and you get what you pay for. The quality is just fair, several areas had fibers that weren't woven properly into the rug. I realize this is a natural product but I have purchased several Seagrass rugs in the past and this was excessive. Also, the boarder material looks cheap. I've had them for over 2 weeks and the smell is making me sick- and I haven't even unpacked them fully yet.. Rugs USA told me to wait 2 more weeks for the smell to disappear- I can't live with this smell for 2 weeks- it's putrid. I called yesterday to return them and was told I would have to pay for the return. Seriously??? I'm very unhappy with the 4 rugs I purchased, I'm unhappy with the customer service and I'm unhappy with this company. Will never buy from them again!!!!

I've owned several seagrass rugs over the years. This one is manufactured in China, the ones I've owned previously were clearly a better quality but also came at a higher price point. I got the large 12' x 15' size and was very disappointed to see that it came folded instead of rolled. My husband laid it out in the garage with some heavy items on the creases, hope this works. The general advice for rugs that arrive folded is to lay them outside, in the sun, to expedite the process. Unfortunately we can't do that. I like the wide binding, it has mitered corners. I don't like all the broken fibers that need to be trimmed off. I suspect many are due to the folding of the carpet because our previous seagrass rugs didn't come with this much damage. For what we paid, it's a value, we'll see how it fairs over time.

Unraveling, Sprouting and Smells

I am not sure where all the great reviews came from. I have owned several seagrass rugs in the past without an issue. When I received this rug, it smelled horrible, when rolled out there are many pieces that were broken that acutally cut my foot and scratched my childs legs. Within the 3 days , it continues to unravel, several broken pieces from walking on it and with the windows open the smell is horrible! The ends do not lay flat, not even with tape. Contacted customer service, received reply that this is all very normal of the rug and it will continue to sprout for several months. Explained the sharpness of the "sprouting" and still received the reply this is normal. Returning it and paying the outrageous shipping fee since Rugs USA would not offer for me to return it any other way. The only positive about the rug is that the backing is nice. If you have small kids, or like to walk without shoes, I do not recommend this particular rug. The dog doesn't even like it...
