Hartford Double Pedestal Desk Chemical Smell

The desk is beautiful and sturdy built. The reason why I give the desk two stars is that it was off-gassing strong formaldehyde smell. Being a metastatic cancer patient, the chemicals would be catastrophic to my health. I feel that American Furniture Warehouse should have cautioned me as the buyer of the potential of the hazards regarding this product. Before requesting a return (24 hours later) I asked if AFW had something to make the smell go away. They said no. I would have kept the desk if it did not pose a hazard to my health.

This desk is what I should have purchased 2 years ago It is roomy, the right height and I can finally organize my many stacks of paper. Love it.

I ordered a 2 desk,

I ordered a 2 desk, 2 filing cabinets, and 2 bookshelves. It took awhile to get then when it came in one desk and filing cabinet were damaged. Finally got the replacement for them and they are still missing parts. I've yet to receive those parts.

I like this desk, seems of good quality. 1 drawer sticks a little or I would have given 5 stars. It came fully assembled, just had to slide the drawers in, that was a plus! I bought the white one. Something to think about is that the top is grainy, so it is difficult to write on.
