Weigh mechanism broke twice

Gave as gift and weigh mechanism broke instantly : Company replaced it immediately but the second one broke immediately so now they have two bulky and heavy changing pads. The only thing they liked about it was the weigh mechanism so it’s just junk. The y don’t want another one. It was a total waste😩

Just bought the hatch grow smart changing pad & scale and I am beyond impressed! I was debating on buying this due to the price, but it's totally worth it. I love how it can weigh my baby and then keep up with their weight on the app. It's such a convenient way to track their growth and development. Highly recommend it to all parents out there!

Innacurate

I bought this because my baby wasn’t gaining weight appropriately and I wanted to be able to do weighted fees. The scale is grossly inaccurate. Her weight will fluctuate around a pound while using this. I can set her down on it and she will be 7 lbs and then reset the app and it will say she’s 8 lbs. It will say she ate 10 ounces which is impossible. Save your money and don’t buy this scale.

I love the idea of having a scale and changing pad all in one! This is also a sleek product that does not take up as much space as regular changing tables and can be placed on the top of a dresser, it is very easy to clean with just the wipe of a cloth. It is also accompanied with a fantastic app to monitor growth, feedings, diapers, and so much more! The app itself has been a lifesaver for me and my husband as first time parents and being able to manage how much our daughter eats, when she last ate, when last diapers were changes, etc! It is on the pricey side of baby products, however it is definitely worth the splurge.

Wanted to love it….

Wanted to love this item but unfortunately can’t! I purchased this after finding out our baby was under 3% during pregnancy due to complications. The scale worked great for the first 6 weeks and was accurate to the pediatrician scale (weekly weight checks). One day, the scale started saying baby had dropped in weight (BY OVER 1LB) and I couldn’t get a repeat reading!! After going to the pediatrician office, it showed the scale is now consistently inaccurate after 4 weeks of using the scale. Talk about the caused major stress considering we moved from weekly to monthly weight checks after 4 weeks of being released from the NICU. I wanted to love this product, especially needing to monitor weight so closely. It’s now an expensive changing pad. At least it’s wipeable LOL…

Horrible quality and horrible Hatch customer service

I received my Hatch pad in the mail yesterday. I opened it and noticed damages on the underside of the pad. A piece of leather is separating from the pad and the whole foam top layer is separating from the frame in certain areas. I contacted Hatch support and they pretty much told me that if the top part is blemish free then the pad is fine. So, they won’t be replacing the pad. What kind of customer service is that??? Nothing bothers me more than a company who doesn’t take pride in the quality of their product. So I will be returning b/c for the price I paid for the pad it should be perfect! I will be returning to Target in the morning. I will just opt for your standard cushion changing pad and research high quality scales since I will be exclusively breastfeeding.

Do Not Buy - Will Break Completely and Bad Warranty

Do not purchase this scale. We had one that broke almost immediately - we don't know how. We were so careful with it but we got a critical error message. When we contacted hatch we were told the mechanism inside that senses the weight is very sensitive and movement or pressure could break it (completely impractical for a project that is supposed to weight a wiggly growing baby and double up as a changing table). Nonetheless, Hatch replaced the product and we were EXTREMELY careful. We knew how sensitive the product was. It somehow broke again and they refused to replace it because we were out of warranty. We got this product thinking it would certainly last through more than one child but we got so little use out of it. Save your time and money. Get a cheaper scale. It does wipe easily, but it's cold so we lay down a blanket. It's simply not worth it and the company cant stand behind the product. I never write reviews but felt I needed to let future buyers know what they were getting into! The scale does seem to be accurate if you can get your baby to sit still for a long time (it's tough). Just not worth it.

The setup took lots of

The setup took lots of time - app didn't work correctly. Even after the app is unstable - it asks to reset zero all the time.

Cool in theory, not perfect in practice.

In theory, very cool technology to have a change table act as a scale. Great idea for breastfeeding to help understand how much milk your baby is getting from you.

Worthless inaccurate scale

This scale is SO disappointing and inaccurate. I can weigh my baby 3 times in a row and get different weights each time. The start a feeding calculation also doesn’t work as when it’s used it first subtracts a couple ounces for no reason before it locks the weight in. I had such high hopes for this scale to calculate how much my breastfed baby was eating - but it’s completely worthless and an expensive changing pad. My bathroom scale while holding my baby is so much more accurate. Customer service was not helpful and gave a canned response about measuring a 2 liter of coke when I complained about the lack of accuracy. Worst baby product I have purchased. Skip it.

I just had my first baby 4 months ago and I probably have purchased close to every single baby product on the market. This is by far one of my favorite baby products. As a new first time parent you worry about everything including whether or not your baby is eating enough, gaining enough weight, or needs their diaper changed. The Hatch Baby Grow allows you to do all three. The Hatch Baby Grow is a changing pad scale. It’s super easy to use with the downloadable app and connects to your phone via Bluetooth. There you are able to track feedings by weighing your baby before and after the feeding, weigh your baby, and use it as an actual changing pad as well. If it gets dirty, you can easily wipe it down. I love how it records the weights of your baby so you can see how your little one has grown. I use the included Hatch Baby app on a daily basis since I have found that it is the easiest app to use for tracking feedings, sleep, weight, etc. It is a bit pricey but I purchased mine at Bed Bath Beyond was able to apply the 20% coupon. Worth the splurge in my opinion.
