tstats cant save you money

some people seem to believe tstats especially programmable ones can save you money. All tstats with heat pumps and backup electric strip heaters will bring in the heaters if there is a 2 degree differential or more. Just because the auxiliary heat comes on because you have it programmed in the heating cycle to a lower temperature at times and have it higher at others doesn't mean somethings wrong with the tstat when you get a higher power bill. Even non programmable tstats will bring in the auxiliary heat if you rise the temperature more than 2 degrees in heat. Most of the time its people not wiring them correctly or understanding how heat pumps work. these tstats are perfectly fine so disregard any negative reviews. Ive used thses among countless others with no issues

Purchased to replace an identical unit that had a touch screen failure after about 7 years. Seller was teriffic with help and serivce

The unit has more features than I will ever use. It was made to work with a large variety of different heating and cooling systems It is not simple to install and program. Professional installation is recommended..

A server room next to the room having the actual thermostat never stayed cool. It was hard to regulate the temperature in the server room even though it was the next room over and both rooms shared the same ducting system and HVAC. Rather than pull new thermostat wire and relocate the old thermostat, this Honeywell TH8320R1003 VisionPro 8000 with RedLINK Digital Thermostat was the solution we needed pairing it with the Honeywell FBA C7189R1004 Wireless Indoor Sensor. Installed the remote wireless indoor sensor right on the server rack and configured the Honeywell TH8320R1003 VisionPro 8000 to only rely on the remote wireless sensor temperature, not the internal sensor built into the VisionPro. Now the temperature right at the server rack is being exactly regulated by the thermostat with the actual temperature being displayed. If you are installing this yourself, be sure and download the installation manual PDF off the internet. There's quite a bit of detail and pages, but just take pictures of your existing thermostat wiring color and terminal labels and match them up with this Honeywell unit and it will be 'plug-n-play'.

It was very easy to install (I am a female with no prior experience in installation of thermostats). First, I killed the power to my AC/furnace (cut the appropriate sub-breakers). For the ease of reconnection, I only needed to label some wires since I have two common wires and two white wires (for the 2nd stage heat, I guess). The rest of the wires matched according to their color. I didn't have to drill any new holes; the new thermostat fitted my previous Honeywell thermostat holes perfectly. I bought this thermostat because I wanted to use it with a Honeywell REM5000R1001 Portable Comfort Control. Redlink connection works great (you don't need your home wi-fi/internet for that), and the setup process was a breeze. The main thermostat just guides you through that. Overall, I am very happy! Love the blue backlight; so pleasing to the eyes! But the best thing is that now I have a remote thermostat/control. Just by pressing a button, you can set the temperature to be read from the remote device instead of the main thermostat. It makes life more comfortable! :)

My thermostat is located in my hallway, so when the bedroom doors are closed, the temperature of the rooms is based on the hallway temp readings which makes for the bedrooms being too hot or cold and not reflective of the temps needed in the rooms. So I purchased this product to use with their Honeywell REM5000R1001 Portable Comfort Control, a wireless thermostat and needed this wall unit to replace my older wall unit so the wireless feature could work.

Wow! We have a 2-story house with a dual zoned HVAC system (2 thermostats to control upstairs and downstairs independently through adjustable dampers with only 1 air conditioner). We have had major problems with consistent air temps in the upstairs since we moved in. The 2 bedrooms in the front face the sun all day and have lots of large windows. Those rooms get HOT when it's sunny outside. The 2 bedrooms in the back are comfortable or even cool. The thermostat is located in the hallway right beside the stairwell, where all the hot air from downstairs rises. To make matters worse, it's feet away from the laundry room. We tried everything...spent $1000 to get the windows tinted in the front bedrooms, bought black-out curtains, had the air people come out and adjust our dampers multiple times and install some sort of blower for the room at the end of the run. Finally, we bought this thermostat with 4 sensors, 1 to go in each bedroom. We had our air people install it since we're still within our 1 year warranty, and they did it for free. This setup is amazing! We have it take the average of all the rooms, and now we get a very consistent temperature, even in the hallway. We stuck the sensors on the walls using medium command strips (the ones that are like Velcro), so it will be easy to pull off and change batteries when we need to. The thermostat is great because you can set a range of temperatures (minimum of 2 degrees apart), and it will automatically change from heat to air conditioner. Right now it's nearing spring, so it gets warm enough for the air conditioner during the day but cool enough for heat at night. I used to get up cold in the middle of the night and turn the heat on. Now, I set it for a range of 69-71. The air conditioner cools it if it gets above 71, but when it gets cooler at night and drops below 69, the heat kicks on. So amazing!!! Also, our HVAC guy recommended we buy the thermostat used. He said you'll be able to tell if it works or not instantly when you connect it, and Home Essentials Direct's return policy is excellent, so it's worth the chance. We bought one in good condition on Home Essentials Direct for $100 less than a brand new one, and the battery tab hadn't even been pulled out. Saved us a lot of money and hadn't ever been installed before!
