Great basic multifunction printer
This is a fantastic multifunction printer/scanner/copier for home or small business use. It has a very small footprint that should be able to fit in any setting. The setup process is very simple and straightforward by using the HP Smart app on your smartphone. It guides you through setup and gets you connected to your wifi network as easy as any other device I have used. Using the HP Smart app allows you to keep track of the amount of toner remaining, and you can use the Instant Ink function to have HP send you a new toner cartridge automatically when the ink gets down to a certain level. You never have to worry about running out or having to go to the store and hope that they have the right cartridge available. The print speed is more than adequate for small office use. The print quality is crisp and clear. This is only a black and white scale printer, so be mindful of that if you have a lot of print jobs requiring color. You can easily print from any of your mobile devices wirelessly. As a general rule, I hate printers and am constantly frustrated with them. So far this one has been very easy to use and reliable. I highly recommend it.
Mostly marvelous miniature MFP
Our family really likes HP LaserJets–this is our 5th now (all still in use in various home-office, professional, and educational settings). We have gone through our share of some other brand lasers including a color MFP from a competitor that has served us faithfully for nearly 8 years and counting. But for good (or better) print quality, dependable hardware, and ultra-quick output on a budget, it’s hard to beat HP’s game.
Great easy to use all-in-one printer!
This printer is a great simple and easy to use all in one that's perfect for the small home office or small office needs. Setup is as easy as unboxing it, plugging it in and using the HP Smart app to set it up with an Android or iOS phone or tablet and even your PC. My Windows machine found it right away and added it without any special downloads, however, with the HP Smart app you get more control over your printer and easier use of the scanner.
[Rewarded Review] The HP LaserJet M140w small but MIGHTY!
The HP LaserJet M140W is a great little black and white printer. It is quite compact at the size of most Inkjet printers and it weighs about the same. Usually, LaserJet printers are bulky and heavy so this was a great surprise. It was easy to setup, but be sure to read the QuickStart guide as there is a step where you have to pull a plastic tab from the toner cartridge before you are able to print. This printer is compatible with both iOS and Android wireless printing as well as a plethora of other wireless printing options through the HP SMART printing app. It proved to be very convenient as I was able to print a signed document for a contractor that was collecting a contract while I wasn’t home, so I just went into the app and printed the document and he was able to retrieve it. The M140W also features the ability to copy and scan on the unit which is a great feature in such a small laser printer. The flap on the front of the printer must be down if you want to print because that is the paper tray so it isn’t as compact as may think, but it does fold up if you’d like when it’s not in use. The M140W wasn’t overly loud and when it warmed up it printed very quickly. It is only black and white, but for most of the things I print that isn’t an issue. The M140W also comes with 2 free months of “Ink” if you subscribe to their ink/toner service, after those 2 months they will charge you. Overall, I’m very happy with the HP LaserJet M140W as I was having some issues with my previous printer that kept getting clogged printer heads, it is nice to know that this won’t happen with the M140W.
Easy Setup and Great quality
This HP Laser Jet all in one printer far exceeds what I expected! The HP smart printer app was helpful to get us up and printing, it was so easy and quick to set up. The instructions were clear and helpful, we were up and running within 10 minutes.
Super Fast
Super Fast! This printer prints documents in seconds. Even though it isn’t color which is fine by me it is way better than the printer sliding back and forth for 30 seconds before your document comes out. The app is much better than competitors and the scanning function is terrific. I usually have to send documents to my accountant and this makes it so easy. The printer itself is as small as it could be for a scanner/printer so it takes minimal space. It looks great and it is super easy to set up. Like some other printers that have trouble connecting to your phone/wifi this one connected on the first try and was up and going. It’s so nice to have documents print like they do at my work, super fast no matter how many copies you need. The documents are very clear and precise on the basic settings. Even though I have a computer, I print everything from my phone and the HPSmart app makes that possible. I would say for the price and if you want a black and white printer for your home this is a great deal. So far I have no complaints as it does everything they promised.
A small printer with big setup problems
This is a small laser printer with clear print quality. Unfortunately, there are some design and setup issues that mar the experience.
HP M140W - solid little printer.
The HP M140W is HP’s compact, stylish, and affordable black-and-white laser printer for home or office use. It is the smallest laser printer I’ve ever seen and sports a scanner that’s not much larger than a legal sheet of paper. The copy function makes it a convenient addition to any SOHO setup.
Small but High Quality Multifunction Printer
This HP LaserJet M140W Wireless Black and White Laser Printer is exactly the same as the M140WE model except M140WE is a HP+ printer that comes with 6 months of Instant Ink and 2 years warranty. On the other hand, this M140W is not a HP+ printer and only comes with 1 year warranty. Hence lower price.
Cost effective Wi- cloud based multi-function+
I've seen and bought hundreds of HP printers for office environments and never owned one for a long time. They have supreme command of the laser printer market since as far as I can remember and very little complications and failures. This HP is the first HP printer I've owned since the late 90s when an unusual printer that lasted over 35 years was zapped.
Compact and fast reliable printer
I was pleasantly surprised at how small this HP laser jet printer is. I initially wondered if it was just a regular old ink cartridge printer. Anywho, there is a couple of sacrifices when comparing this to a larger traditional laser printer. 1.) the cartridge claims that it will yield 950 prints before it needs to be swapped out. That is a lot of prints! But far less than you’ll get with a larger printer. That being said, keep it in mind if you plan on using this for a small business. I would say that this printer is better suited for a home, or for a student. The second sacrifice you make with this printer is that there is no place to store a large amount of paper. You kinda just gotta feed it a small stack of paper as you print. But like I said, it is perfect for a general home use printer. Aside from those two things, this printer is pretty awesome. It connects via WiFi or Ethernet. Setup was quick and easy with the free HP app. Once connected to your home internet, you can print from any device you have connect to your WiFi network via AirPrint / Google Cloud printing. It takes a few seconds for your print job to be transferred but once it does, the pages are printed almost instantly. The printer also has a built in scanner for copying pages. Very convenient! You can choose to log in and subscribe to HP’s services for ink refills with this printer but it isn’t necessary. I like to be in control of my finances, so I opt out and just buy ink when I deem it necessary. Would I recommend this printer? Yes, but keep the limitations i stated earlier in mind. Also, this printer only prints in black and white. It’s a very nice printer though, and quite affordable. It’s small size makes it great for use in any home.
Compact Laser, Easy WiFi Setup, No Paper Tray
I have been using the HP Laser MFP M140W for several days, both as a printer and scanner and been giving it a lot of use both to print and scan as I get my tax files organized. The first thing you notice when you get the HP MFP M140W out of the box is how small it is - this is a laser printer with the footprint of an inkjet. As a compact laser printer for your home, it's great. Setup was easy on my WiFi 6 network. You use the (free) HP Smart app and it was connected to my WiFi in a few minutes. Despite what the app claims, you don't need to install software on your computer once the printer is on your WiFi network, both our Windows and MacOS devices discovered the HP MFP M140W and were able to print and scan without any need for HP software. Yay! As a printer, it prints at a claimed 21ppm, I didn't time it but printing was fast. One thing to know about the HP MFP M140W is that it doesn't have a true paper tray. You load paper by opening a flap at the front and the paper sits outside not in the printer. This is not a bad thing, just something you should know as the pictures would suggest it has internal paper storage but it does not (see picture). This is not necessarily bad just that I do prefer printers with paper trays that protect the paper. Why this all matters is if you don't make sure you have the printer output flap open, then as you print, paper can basically self feed back into the paper tray and you will print over your printouts in an infinite loop. One of the things I do like about the HP MFP M140W is that HP Instant Ink is optional! This is a big step forward for HP who use to force Instant Ink on everyone. If you are after a compact multifunction black and white laser printer, that's perfect for your home you can't go wrong.
Solid printer for every day use
This is a pretty good basic printer. If you just need something that works this would be the one. The setup through the HP app is pretty simple. I did have trouble with connecting the printer to my google home mesh network, once I switched to another WiFi network the printer connected no problem. I’m sure something was wrong with my google mesh network.
[Rewarded Review] Great size for a home office
I have been recently trying to make room in my office, and this printer size was a great replacement for an older laser printer I had. It almost seems too small to be a laser printer, but I guess technology is good at making most things smaller. HP is one of the major printer brands I grew up knowing had quality printers. I’ll share my experience with the printer so far….
A perfect fit
I've had the opportunity to use the HP M140w for the last couple of weeks and it has been fantastic! I got the printer through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and was eager to get it open and putting it to work. The easy to follow instruction pamphlet and accompanying QR Code to download the phone application made setup a breeze. I had it up and printing within 6 minutes of opening the box! The application was easy to use and the most "complicated" aspect was finding the printer and connecting it to WiFi.
Excellent home office printer
Small, quiet, and very fast printer.
Small Footprint for Laser Printing
The HP LaserJet MFP M140W is essentially an all-in-one laser printer. It prints, scans, and copies. What more could you want. The printer literally comes is packed in a see-through plastic bag so that the user/buyer can easily extract the printer from its cardboard shipping box without doing it any harm. This printer comes with its electrical power cord and an introductory toner cartridge to start you off on your way.
Solid entry multi-function laser printer
HP has long been in the upper echelon of printers for both home and office - and they've shown why yet again with the LaserJet MFP (multi-function printer) M140W. It has (nearly - more on that in a moment) all the functions that a home or small business user could want in a solid, compact and reliable package at a reasonable price.
Fast and easy to use printer
This printer is a workhorse! I received this printer from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and have been so pleased with how it. My family has been using it for everyday printing, school assignments, and for my husband’s construction business. It has consistently met our printing needs and all of the prints come out great - which is especially important for my husband’s business prints.
Compact fast printer scanner and copier
I was amazed by how compact this printer is - the smallest I've seen for an all-in-one printer! I was worried I'd need an additional table or space for it in my home office, but it fit perfectly on the little bookshelf at the end of my desk. It delivered in a compact box and was well organized. It was fully assembled and easy to connect the cord, put in paper, etc. and it was ready to go! I like the HP Smart app. I was quickly able to connect my printer (fun fact: you can also have more than one printer connected i.e. for work and home or to have different types). I can quickly see my estimated supply levels and when I'll need to order more. It comes with a couple of months of the HP Instant Ink subscription, which makes it easy. I like that I can print directly from my phone from whatever I'm on, whether that's photos, searching the internet on my browser, or from my files/downloads. It's a pop-up selection for the printer. Super easy to learn how to use - love how it's interconnected with my phone and other devices. I can also shortcut it to directly send scans to my email address. That option makes scanning much quicker. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this printer, it's my new go-to and in arms-reach from my desk! I'll definitely be recommending this to others in need of a compact printer with very easy setup, a great app, and multiple functionalities!
