We ordered 4 ceiling fans and 2 downrods. The downrods were shipped separately to the wrong address so we had to go to another HD store to get them. One ceiling fan arrived with a broken light dome. We had to return it to the store and order another ceiling fan. Thus our installer could only install 3 fans while at our place. Luckily my brother was able to help me install the 4th fan.

Pretty good fan. I added it to a backyard gazebo for some air circulation. It functions very well for its price. Good quality construction. I recommend weighing each assembled fan blade for weight and equalising the tip on the top side with weight to prevent wobble.

I purchased the 7 foot downrod to accommodate my 20 foot ceiling. It looks great and is just what I needed to balance off the room.

Defected product

The extension were purchased with a ceiling fan that they showed up as “as purchased together” on the site. So I ordered three of them to connect together to lowere the ceiling fan to the recommended hight guide on the site. Problem number one the pole do not connect together. Problem two the finish on them has all kinds of finger prints and water marks in them that cannot be wiped off. Problem thee the color does not match the fan.

Perfect Solution

We needed an extended down rod to mount the ceiling fan on our sloped/vaulted ceiling so the blades would have sufficient clearance. This down rod worked perfectly!

No, it does not work with the fans we purchased. They don't match up! I had to modify the ones that were up there and reuse them. I returned the Hunter poles. I'm trying to think of the name of the fans we purchased....the home depot brand. Hamilton Bay fans will not match up with the hunter down rods.

There are 2 drilled holes on these downrods and the hole that matches up to the location of the grounding wire bolt that comes with the fan is too big for the bolt. Black matte finish of rod dies not match shiny matte finish of the fan. Disappointed and a hassle.

This was just what I needed. However, it is VERY confusing when choosing a fan. (Mine was for a slanted ceiling.) Brands are NOT listed with each fan so you can be sure you're getting a matching one (length, brass, chrome, etc.) I had to order this not being sure it was right for my all brass polished brass Westinghouse fan. It was. But website needs to say so!!! It seems some of these are for almost any fan????? On a recent visit, I noticed our HD store has no polished brass fans (altho they have dozens of fans) or polished brass ext. downrods. ????

This item is labelled as 3/4" X12" (both online in the description and on the pipe label itself), however the 3 I received where 1" X12". I now have to return the 3 I got online (store did have any in stock) and try to find extension rods that will fit. Good thing the first one fan I went to install was easy to reach, the other 2 are much harder to access.
