Very Nice Wok.
this is a very nice wok. Handle comes off and I was able to oven season.
Not a Main Wok
This Wok will eventually get the job done! The instructions are not useful YouTube is a little better when it comes to seasoning this WOK which is a must! It took a long time and a lot of work! Not rust proof. It arrived damaged but I needed it for dinner right away and didn't have time to get a replacement. The quality is flimsy. Still in need of a really great quality piece at some point.
Protective Coating Removal
Sadly I never got the chance to try this wok. The protective coating was extremely difficult for me to remove. I tried steel wool with bar keeper’s friend and it simply was not coming off after hours of scrubbing. I tried burning it off and scrubbing, but still left a residue. I’ve given up at this point and moving on to a different wok
big and effective
now ive never owned a wok before, but i noticed many for sale are kinda small. this is pretty big! i seasoned it like the instructions said to but i may not have gotten it hot enough... or maybe i did. its turned a little brown on the bottom, which is slick, but food hasnt stuck to the side. it practically rinces clean. very easy cleanup! i like the bakelite handles, how food doesnt really stick to it, the width and depth and the easy cleanup. its everything i wanted in a wok, except for a lid. i use a flat pan some on top. i could make one out of wood too. i didnt really like the ones offered with a lid. im happy with this one!
A good wok for nice price, especially for beginners. But it does need a lot of time for seasoning and after care after cooking. Nice product overall.
Plastic Coating
Comes in plastic coating for shipping that needs to be removed before cooking do not buy unless you want to spend hours scrapping away, get a pre-seasoned one.
It's too big for me
three stars or less because It's too big and the cooking level is off balance.
Carbon steel wok
Get rusted after wash . Not a good material.
Good usage
Awesome fit..does the job perfect
Avoid like the plague
very bad quality. rusted up on the second day.
Just seasoned
Okay have not cooked with it yet but I seasoned it. I used steel wool pads several times and am not sure if I got the coating off. Hard for me to tell.
Rust
washed and dried it right away. My hubbs simply put a bunch of grilled chicken in it....I am not sure if this is why he purchased it...Men, who can know what they think. Anyways... Later that night, after the food had been eat, I went to wash it again using simply soap and a wash towel (no abrasives) and I noticed that it had something at the bottom. My first thought was dried BBQ sauce, so I let it soak in warm soapy water. Tried to wash it again but, " bbq sauce" would've budge. I didnt want to scratch it or scrub off the non stick surface somehow so I am just using a wash towel. I deceided to feel it but there was nothing to be felt (like stuck on food) .After all,if it had been sauce warm water would have definitely gotten it esp after a soak. So, the only other thing that color is RUST. Again in my head? I was thinking not possible to be rust already...right??? Wrong. After buying something that quickly has an issue, i jump on the internet and check reviews....Low and behold, others have had rust after 1 use...I find this to be absolutely ridiculous. I mean why manufacturer crappy products because people wont be buying tour crap again...makes no sense if you want to be a successful manufacturer. This is the secong imusa product in my house. The first one I purchased was the Caldero( dutch oven) which was $35 bucks and I wasnt impressed by it. The handles which look like thet are coated with something for heat because they are teal get so hot you cant touch it and even when only using silicone utensils and handwashing it everytime, the coating begins to chip away. I did not buy the wok , my husband did on a solo shopping trip, but had I been there, it wouldn't have been purchased at all. just saying. zero stars
DONT BUY THIS WOK! ITS NOT WORTH IT!
Its rusted after one used only! Dont buy this!
BAD QUALITY WOK
bad quality, stained on first use
It came with rust spots on it…..
Wok Away lol
Great Walk Wok, easy handling it makes it so easy to you. After I seasond the Wok, the 1st thing i made was a Chinese Beef %26 and Broccoli. Yummy
My New Wok
Works as advertised. Only complaint, the plastic coating to keep it from rusting, is difficult to remove.
Not steel Rusts
Product is suppose to be steel but interior rusted within one use. Hence it’s not steel but iron.
Bad quality
I doubt it’s harmful to people’s health
It’s not natural it has a Teflon surface.
