Cheap Glass
Bought and installed this in September 2021. Been great, loved the look. Came home last night (10/18/24) to the fixed side glass shattered. No pets, no one was home from when we left to when we came home to find the glass shattered. Cheap glass, be careful.
Good shower door for the price
Arrived well packaged, and all intact. Good instructions with links to video that settled some questions I had. I’m not sure why it’s billed as semi-frameless as it has a full frame. But it looks great and the finish seems tough and very even. Assembly was straightforward. The carriage rollers are well designed and seem like they will last. My only slight negative is that there is no real way to squeegee or otherwise wipe water off the glass where it overlaps.
Looks great, operates smoothly
I selected this particular door because our contractor who walked mid-job had not properly prepped the wall with a stud where our door needed to attach. This unit feels nice and solid installed. Our shower has a composite base with WetWall installed over green board. The door was delivered with the box destroyed, but nothing was broken or missing. Admittedly, it was a nail biter for my husband and me to install ourselves, but we took our time, followed directions step-by-step, and in the end it all worked out. It’s the final component for a clean upgrade of a mobile home garden tub.
Not exactly an easy install so unless you are very handy do not attempt. That said, mine installed without issue and it looks absolutely beautiful. happy with the quality and the functionality.
A few tips
Instructions aren't very good. It would be an easier install if dreamline let the installer drill the holes for the glass clips and bumpers. A few tips- cut the top and bottom rails 3/8 short, don't worry the expanding wall profile will take up the slack. Dry fit the entire assembly with the frame screwed in and test fit the fixed panel glass. If your base isn't very level you may have to cut the top and bottom rails to different lengths to accommodate being out of plumb. After confirming fitment, attach one wall profile with a caulk bead behind, then take the frame with the second wall profile and slip it into the already fastened profile. fully collapse the frame and profiles, caulk behind the second profile and fasten, then gently lift the frame and caulk underneath, and press it down into place. This will save a big mess with caulking. Use an adhesive caulk since that's the only thing holding the bottom frame in place. Try to avoid using the silly plastic anchors, go to extra long screw if there is any any framing within reach. your install will be a lot firmer, as this is a less-substantial frame. The glass is heavy, it may be easier to lift the the top rollers onto the track and push the buttons on the bottom rollers with a paint stick to get the bottom rollers in the track.Have fun, installation time 1 hour...... in your dreams. It does look nice when its done, just not a conventional install.
Item arrived with no issue. However, Home Depot advertise professionals to install but omitted to say they will only install on FULL bathroom remodel. Had I known this, I would have just ordered from an installer instead of spending weeks searching for an individual to install the doors. Therefore my rating is low
Box was torn apart when picked up with parts to shower laying on separate cart. When one side of glass was installing it totally chattered and was not bump, so during delivery this glass was stressed!
This door did not have a solid seal against the wall. I have installed many shower doors, even other Dreamline products. This door had seals that were twisted and wrinkled. There was a limited seal and balance concern. The adjustments were limited.
Nice Shower Door But...
Where do I start. First let me begin by saying the door is nice once you have it all installed, but the "installed" part is the catch. This is not an easy door to install and I'm a very handy person. Instructions say the average install time is 1 hour, but you heard it here first, think more like 4-5+. Especially if you take your time and do it right. I also did it by myself. I also had to drill through tile, which the directions don't mention. But take your time and the door is nice. The 1 inch profile helps, especially if your walls are slightly off plumb. I mainly gave this door a 1-star because of the delivery by Lowes. It was a nightmare. They kept changing and pushing my delivery date back. Maybe if that was not the case and it was delivered on time I would give the door a 4-star rating. Lowes should have paid me for that headache. Anyways, just my 2 cents and review. Again, door is nice, but there are a lot of things(cutting frame, removing stopper, drilling new pilot holes in frame, Re-installing stoppers) that need to be done to get door installed right. There is a video on youtube that is very helpful too. My words of advice would be to, be careful, measure three times and cut once. One mistake, and you are reordering a door, or parts.
Excellent quality however 4 stars for having to build frame before installation. You have to get your measurements perfect. Took longer than expected but end result is great.
Great looking doors after PAINFUL installation
After installation, the shower doors are great. However, the flimsy screws that are supposed to anchor the doors to the walls are totally insufficient. I had to use anchors that did not come with the kit to attach the vertical side pieces of the door kit to the walls of the shower stall. The screws that were included just would not do the job they were supposed to do. Installing the shower doors took about 5-6 hours.
Check the Ml of the flooring…. I only want wuality
The quality. U fortunately the better quality floor was not in stock - only the lesser quality vintl
3rd door's the charm...maybe
The first two doors were broken during Fedex transit, so Dreamline finally sent by another freight company. That one arrived in one piece. My plumber managed to get it installed even though the directions are terrible. But now the moving door (other piece is stationary) floats open while showering. I had to stand and hold it closed for my grandson the other night. I've read other reviews, but no one else has mentioned this problem. I may have to call my plumber back if I don't receive a response.
Shower doors
I purchased this unit for our Ensuite Bathroom reno and have been completely pleased with it. The black Frame all around completes the look and enhances the Bathroom appeal. No complaints.
Nice doors but handle is messed up.
Nice doors, easy to put together even though the directions weren’t super clear at times. Thank goodness for YouTube and videos. The door handle that came with it, the threads are crooked so the handle will not tighten to the door flush. It is crooked and loose because of this. I did contact the company, but we haven’t heard back. That is the main reason for the 4 stars.
Good product, in spite of myself
Installation was straightforward. Two small issues: The door roller bearings make a grinding sound, as though of low quality. Additionally, if you want the door on the right, the glass overlap is in the "wrong" direction, meaning that water spray from the shower head can shoot between the glass panels. Yes, they come with edge seals, but many shower door kits are apparently designed originally for left-hand door installations, with the right-hand adaption being an afterthought.
Nice doors!
Nice set of shower doors at a great price. I had one door "explode" while I was installing it but Dreamline sent me another one very quickly. The instructions work better if you just blindly follow them instead of trying to make sense of them. May I am just too dumb to overthink it but if you just follow the instructions line by line these are not that hard to install. Ge the glass handling suction cups!
Watch video for installation instructions
Well made door that looks good once installed. Do not rely on the written instructions that come with it as they are terrible and you will be frustrated trying to follow them. Instead go to Youtube and watch a video on the Infinity Z door. Once you see the video the written instructions will be easier to follow.
A satisfied DIY engineer
The shower door is well designed and easily assembled. It just fit in my opening and I cut the rails short as suggested. The walls were about 3/4" out of plumb, but the design compensated for it. Instructions were easy to follow and no problems. I may have a slight leak, but it can be fixed easily
Pretty Good Door
I install this stuff for a living, mainly basco products. At the request of the H/O I installed this products. Instructions are precise. Rollers are great quality.
