Don't buy if you want it to work via switch.

Hello is it 2024 or what?... This Dumb lamp does NOT Work with a regular light switch that every American house has in their bedroom or living room. It has a "touch" switch on the lamp pole and will not turn back on via the wall switch you used with your old lamp. I wish these buyers for major retailers would get their head out there a*# and actually understand what type of product they are selling to the public. SHAME... SHAME... SHAME! Fire the Hampton Bay product development team.

I bought one of these to replace taller halogens, and found that it did a better job than they had done, and lit the area well. Loved the three way finger tap switch.

this was an identical replacement for a lamp I bought at Home Depot 2 1/2 years ago. For $75 I would expect a product to last much more than 2 1/2 years. The lighting element was still OK, it is the touch ON/OFF actuator that failed, just poor workmanship. And no one to discuss the problem, although the Hope Depot person tried his best to connect me to a technical advisor at the lamp maker- all fake phone numbers, impossible to get the manufacturer.

When the lamp was delivered, it was bent inside of the box.

Ordered 2, one is defective. Need quality control.

I like this design, simple to assemble, just screw the lamp onto the base…. Unless the base is threaded wrong! One lamp Assembled easily, the second one the threads would not feed no matter how much force. We even tried to switch the lamp with the first unit, but still no joy. We tried to sweep for metal burrs, no joy. The base is defective. So I need to order another and return one.

Too expensive for what it was so I returned it.

The lamp was easy to assemble and worked as expected. I bought one and wanted another so I went to the iPhone app and checked availability at my local store. One in stock. So I reserved it for store pickup. An hour later I received a message: "We have cancelled your order" with a recommendation to a store 20 or 30 miles away that had some. I checked other more local Home Depots and found the lamp 5 miles away from the first store. I got the lamp. took it home and assembled it but it flickered on the low setting and wouldn't select the intermediate setting (it tried but quickly went to high). So I took it back to the store and got another one, which worked fine. All's well that ends well, I guess, and they are nice lamps.

Exceptionally well packaged, minimal set up, and the light looks really nice. My only complaint is it is very bright, even when I dim it as much as possibly. I actually have the light facing the wall to keep it down when it’s on. VERY glad I bought it.

Perfect for tight space

Perfect for a tight space. This is our second buy of this particular lamp; we liked it so much we bought another. Can be quite bright or muted down. This time around, the lamp was half off … Score! Love it.

Light stopped working 3 months in

I have two of these lamps, one in my living room and one in the bedroom. The one in the bedroom turns on and off by itself, I'll tap the switch to go brighter and it just freezes. I'll turn the lamp off and it'll turn back on, on the lowest setting. The one in the living room has no problems.

Will break after a year

I bought this lamp around November 2022 and the touch sensor stopped working about six months later. I took it to Home Depot where a wonderful customer service rep agreed to swap it out for a new one. It is now December 2023 and the touch sensor on the replacement lamp is failing. Poor quality, but then again it's a floor lamp under $100 so I guess you get what you pay for.

Will not work with light wall light switch

Lamp is stylish and has very nice light. It will not work with light switch on wall nor will it work with a timer b/c it has a sensor switch on stem of unit that will turn light 1st on lowest light, then medium, then bright and back to off. If you use a switch or a timer it will turn off just fine, but when you turn on (wall light switch or timer) it will not light until you turn on from lamp's stem sensor switch. I am going to keep it b/c it is a nice light/lamp, but a little disappointed.

Lots of light. 3 levels of luminescence. Light fixture tilts at top. Light projects from top. Overall I am happy with the purchase. Note: Light turns on only by pressing the contact switch on the light pole. This light cannot be turned on from a wall switch, only turned off.
