Good rug, easy to clean

Three or four years later, we still like this rug. It does shed, even a little still, when you sit on it with black sweat pants but I don’t find it all over my hard floor underneath which is good. It’s easy to clean with a little green machine. We have a dog and a toddler now so we stain it quite often. I sprayed it with a stain spray when we first got it but it’s long gone at this point. Overall, I’d buy it again.

I adore this gorgeous rug for my daughters big girl room. It completed the aesthetic beautifully. It is a little rough or scratchy on the skin but it’s fine for light play in her room. Sheds here and there but nothing I can’t vacuum easily once a week. Thick quality and looks phenomenal! Very happy.

Did not wear well

I loved this area rug when it first arrived. My living room has grey furniture and aqua/turquoise accents. So this rug was perfect. However it did not wear well. After just a year it looked wore and the color was no longer vibrant. The room does not get direct sun nor is it a high traffic area so I was very surprised at how this rug wore. I have had other Safavieh rugs that I have had no complaints about. However this rug had to be replaced.

Rug that still looks great after 2.5 years!

I confess to have purchased a rug with precisely the same specifications as this Safavieh Cambridge Moroccan, but from a different online vendor. But while that rug appeared identical online to what I'd earlier received from Overstock.com, in person, it just wasn't in the same league. The Overstock rug is much denser, heavier (in a good way) and is of a much higher quality. They both claim a .5” pile, but the Overstock Moroccan actually IS. And the differences have quickly proven to be important. The Overstock Moroccan still feels brand new after 2.5 years. The other Moroccan, despite being just six weeks old, already shows unrecoverable matting and flattening. Sure, it cost less. But what’s the point of saving $ on a rug when you have to replace it in two months? Learn from my mistake. If you want a rug that fairly shouts quality and actually lasts, get it on Overstock.

The rug is nice. The design and muted color are pretty and very much as picutred online. Its very thick and substantial and adds a ton of warmth to the room. As others have said, it is really weird that the stripe pattern is tufted (and higher) while the background pattern is looped (and lower). This makes you feel a very noticeable difference to your feet as you walk across it. Not a deal breaker, but weird. Sheds up a storm but I expect (hope?) this will lessen eventually. However it fills my Roomba's dust bin daily. Finally, perhaps the least impressive thing about this rug is that the loops seem to pull very easily. I'm not even quite sure what does it...animals, perhaps. In the 5 or 6 months I've had it down, I've had to trim pulled loops quite a few times. In the end, I'm not sure how long it will last, but it has been a good buy for the price and I would recommend.

Purchased 3 matching rugs with the same pattern for my kitchen. I have to say that the initial quality of these rugs is outstanding. They are thick, but not so thick that it's unreasonable. The consistency of pattern is good, and they butt up to one another nicely as I have the runner up perpendicular to the smallest rug. I have these on a tile floor, so I didn't need padding underneath, but did use some carpet tape on the edges to keep from tripping or moving over time. As other reviewers have mentioned, Yes, they are going to shed a lot. I've vacuumed them twice in two days and got a full container. I anticipate this to slow over time, as others have noted they do. Glad I got the wool as they will last a long time. Happy with the price. They are high quality rugs well worth the price point. Shipping was super fast. I am very please with the rugs so far and would recommend to anyone with tile or hardwood floors.

Minor caveats such as an imperfection in the color where it appears to be a little 'off' in a spot near one of the edges did not deter me from giving 5 stars here. I'm not saying the other reviewers are liars or a bunch of fuss-budgets either as perhaps they actually did have a bad experience. I find 'some' people can sometimes just be way too nit-picky though sometimes. What I especially like about this rug is how soft and 'feet-friendly' it is. I'm someone who walks around the house on mostly bare-tile floors where I have throw rugs scattered around the house. I like all of my rugs, They feel very nice to my feet. But THIS one takes the cake for comfort. Also I got one of these while they were on sale so the price wasn't all that bad either. if you walk around the house barefoot too, there is NO way you will NOT like this rug. I love it. I WOULD prefer to have one without any discoloration spots but it's likely I'll get another of these some time.

Perfectly Lovely

I was on the fence about buying this rug, but I loved the color combo and the design and I couldn't find anything that compared. I see all the negative reviews about the shedding and the color but I gambled and I must say, I'm quite pleased. The style is perfect, the pattern is large and the lines are cream-colored and raised. The silver is a gray with a very slight lavender under tone and it perfectly complements my room's modern cool decor - dark floors, gray walls with a yellow-green accent wall. This color looks great in natural light and in yellow lamp light the hue is slightly lavender but definitely a brighter gray. The rug is thick and feels very nice underfoot, and it does shed, it is wool. The fibers feel soft but there is quite a bit of shedding. I vacuumed once then let the Roomba do it's business but that made a serious mess. The Roomba rode the edges, since the rug is so thick, and just scattered fibers everywhere then dragged them into the next room. No more Roomba in that room for a while. I've researched a bit and decided to just keep vacuuming it every week and eventually the shedding will cease. I vacuumed again today and my Dyson was filled with pale fibers, so eventually it will level out, I am sure. I love the rug, it creates a cool modern look to my guest room and I just love it!

Average quality but a great price

I got this rug for my bedroom thinking it was a great deal, Safaviah has a solid reputation, and I have a ton of friends who have bought similar rugs from this manufacturer via overstock.com. I've seen this rug style EVERYWHERE, so figured I couldn't go wrong when my girlfriend moved into my apartment and forced me to scale back on the bachelor pad style furnishings and get rid of one of my most prized possessions: A beautiful Flokati 'bachelor-pad' shag I got on ***** for **** marked down from ******. I dearly miss my furry friend already.
