Presume it will do what it is designed for. two shortcomings: Did not include wall plate as Q & A stated; wiring screws would not back out enough to make wiring easy for 12 gauge wire.

Returned this product since not needed for my application. This was for having a single duplex receptacle in an electrical box, but I needed to wire two duplex receptacles in the electrical box, and this would require additional wire nuts to split the circuit and continue the wiring to the next box. There was no room in the box. I opted to use standard Decora Duplex Receptacles and used external surge suppressors to protect my washer and dryer, which are late model units that needed protection from surges and spikes.

In the old days you could open the screws enough to easily slip the “ears” of the wires underneath before tightening. Now you have to unnecessarily fiddle with it, making installation longer than it needs to be.

Seems like a quality product. Installation was normal and it works fine. The only downfall and I did not realize it when I bought it is that it's a one time use protection. If it protects your electronics from a surge you have to replace the outlet.
