[Rewarded Review] Nice rug but could be better

I have pets so I’m always in need of a new rug. Lately, I have seen machine washable rugs advertised. When I saw this Johnathan Y washable rug I had to get it. The design was minimalist cream and gray striped. My current décor leans a bit towards rustic farmhouse and I thought this striped design would work. The rug is 5x7 in size and that is perfect for my little pups. It’s described as polyester material, machine washable, and hang dry. When I rolled out the rug it definitely is thin but that was fine. It laid flat on all four corners so that is also a plus. The backing is a bit rough. My floors are real wood and there are already scratches so I thought maybe I can get away with just laying it out. However the backing is very slippery against the hard wood. My pets like it because when they run and jump, the rug slides, adding to their play but it’s not practical for everyday. I’ll have to look into some type of anti slip matting but like the rug I would like for it too to be washable. Even though the rug is thin and clean, I wanted to see if it fit into my large front loading washing machine. I added pictures so you can see that there is no way the rug is pliable enough to fold or be bundled into the machine. I really tried to push it in there and it was a just no go. Not easy getting it out either. If this rug is going to be washed in a front loader, it would work in an industrial size at a laundry facility. The care tag said that the rug may shrink with wash. Maybe shrinking and softening over time would allow it to fit in my washer. To be honest I will probably never take this rug to the laundromat so any washing will be on the patio with a hose like all the other rugs. Rug is cute and lightweight. Adds some style to my little room.

[Rewarded Review] Very nice area rug

We got this rug from Home Depot to serve as an area rug at our entry way. The rug itself is very well made. The backing jute is small thatched and well sewn and glued together. The rug has a short nap but feels very nice under your feet in socks. The nap (pile) is short but clearly is shown in s sweep of the nap with your feet. This will help to identify the area that was vacuumed when cleaning. It looks great in the entry way and will be a welcomed addition. The main reason for choosing this rug was its machine washability. There are instructions sewn onto the rug providing guidance in the washing process. The rug can be loaded into a front loading washer, but should not be loaded in a small drum, which would overload the washer or create an imbalance in the washer drum. This rug is 5 foot x 8 foot and obviously will not fit into our home washer, thus it will need to be taken to the laundromat for washing. We're thinking after two months of time and foot traffic will be a good time to give it a whirl.
