The Joseph Extend Steel Expandable Dish Rack is what’s been missing from your kitchen.
I really wanted to love
I really wanted to love this - but
Spectacular and super practical
The answer to all my dishrack prayers! Some serious design thinking clearly went into this marvel. It is just fantastic. From the removable and relocatable cross bars, to the extendable slide out part for bigger dish loads, to the drip tray and spout, to the ease of pulling it apart for wipe down or cleaning, to the knife holder (blades safely secured). Just wonderful and highly recommended.
Stylish and practical
A fabulously thought through kitchen essential. Love the fact it expands with a flat safe surface for glasses and cups.the drain underneath can be placed either side of the work surface. The cutlery holder with separate knife slot is easy to remove and clean and the rail is ideal for your wet dishcloth or to lean a chopping board against.
Really well made, looks great
I've been using this dish drainer for a week now and really like it - it looks great and does what it's designed to do. Definitely an upgrade from the cheap one I was using before, that would need regular draining itself, as it didn't have a built in spout. The wide spacing of the metal uprights means you need to lay chopping boards on their long side or they'll slip off. Also, unless you are a patient dish stacker and put your dishes exactly on the rack with no part hanging off the side (eg a pot handle), a little water will drip off the item onto the bench. Seems obvious, but I didn't think about this at the time of purchase. Overall a well-made item, love that the funnel can be placed in 3 different spots.
I've had this dish Rachel for several months now and love it! It fits the style of my kitchen, and the adjustable size of the rack allows for many dishes to be dried at one time but a "lower profile" when the rack isn't in use. The other feature I really appreciate is that I can take the entire rack apart for cleaning. We have minerals that build up, but this piece is super easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble in just a few minutes.
Great drying storage and very sturdy
I have two versions of a joseph joseph drying rack. This one in particular I really like because it can easily hold kitchen items of all shapes and sizes. I love the leaning rack attachment at the edge that allows you to easily hold up a cutting board or baking sheet without taking up much space on the drying rack. Perfect for all dishes, cookware, wine glasses, knives, and more. Drains very easily to sick. Sleek looking.
Ingenuous product design and a very sleek look! I can’t say enough about this dish rack - so cleverly designed and great looking. Goes well with my white kitchen / stainless appliances. I rinse it with soap & water weekly to keep it clean - it takes just a minute as it’s easy to disassemble & reassemble. Some product designer deserves an award for this dish rack. Kudos!
Disappointed
This design is a great idea that doesn't actually work. I was very excited to get this expandable dish drying system. I live alone & have a dishwasher, so I don't often need a large rack, but sometimes I do. I mainly use it for pots & pans, and as a place to put a collander while washing produce. I've had it a few weeks now.
HIGHLY recommend-keep an eye on changing price
Love, love, love. I only downgraded on “value” metric because it’s expensive. Keep an eye on the price because it changes and check out different colors that might work in your kitchen, as that might change the price, too. I got the stone and it blends beautifully in a predominately white countertop. The flexibility to expand for pots/pans/mugs/other items, is brilliant because once things dry you can reduce the size and it doesn’t take much space. Superior to a similar Kitchenaide stainless that looked like a giant beast compared to this sleek, flexible style
Does not go the distance
I purchased this dish rack believing that rust would not be an issue. The water here is quite harsh,,however I do have a water filter. Within one and a half years, the first one rusted but I was lucky enough to be sent a replacementt because of the guarantee. The 2 stars is for the customer service, which was impeccable; not the product.
Designers need to use their products first
I've had this rack for about a month now, and I use it every day.
The perfect dish rack exists!
Really great quality and simple set up. This dish rack is definitely one of the better ones in the market and the Joseph Joseph brand does not disappoint. Love that it be extended if you need some extra space, drains excess water and holds knives in its own section. Aesthetically, it’s well constructed and presented. Highly recommend.
Excellent
A lovely dish rack. So versatile in design.love that you can change the cutlery holder on a different side to suit. The crockery holds really firm no movement, the bar that you attach on the back is so handy for your chopping boards to place against.
Does what it says, but overpriced and more fragile than expected
One of its features is the spout that can be placed in 3 configurations. After having connected it, I accidentally dropped it (entirely my fault). Not only did the spout come off (which is fine), but the circular drain at the base cracked. Honestly, for this price, I thought it would be better quality. Hopefully, in a future version, it might be a better idea to improve where the drain connects to the spout -- maybe make it metallic.
Terrible Waste of $$!
Purchased as a gift, and I was humiliated to see that it was non-functional. Water did NOT drain away through the tiny little spout, and the entire rack had to be lifted and shaken to get rid of excess water. The storage slots for drying dishes was minimal and barely fit more than three items. The cutlery holder is insanely tiny and narrow - anything larger than a teaspoon topples out. And the RUST started after one month of use, getting progressively worse! Absolute JUNK!
New & improved!
I have had another Joseph Joseph dish drainer and so far I like this one better. The expanding feature slides well, I like the bar at the back that helps keeps items from falling out. The drainage spout seems less likely to leak in the time that I've used it. The utensil holder seems like it might be hard to clean, so I will keep the other one that I have to spread those items out. I also like the stainless steel design and think it looks good in my kitchen.
Amazing Product, One Core Flaw
We absolutely love our dishrack. It is great that it doesn't take much space on the counter until you need it to, and then you expand. And for such a prominent item in your kitchen, it's important that it looks good. Honestly, I think that every dishrack should model off of this one.
Stylish dish rack
I had been using a drying mat which wasn't ideal as water invariably pooled around the silicone on the bench wall tile area. I had been looking for a better solution and found this online at Myer. Delivery was quick. If I need extra room the extendable portion works well. The compact size can be put in one of my sinks if I'm not wanting to show any clutter on the bench. The only negative is that with the lip of my sink not being flush with the bench, the drainage spout on the rack can't sit over it. Mind you there's really no run off so I've simply placed my drying mat underneath the dish rack. Problem solved!
Poorly designed
I bought this because of the water spout that drains the water into the sink. The sink in my kitchen is raised above the countertop. When I was using this, I noticed some water pooling underneath the rack. I thought that it was from dishes that were leaning off the side and dripping down.
