Juicer? Ricer? Avoid.

This is sold as a citrus juicer in the UK. All the top reviews are calling it a potato ricer.

Brilliant design

This is a brilliant design. We love a Margarita so at last no more messy worktops and sore wrists!!! Just about to buy a 2nd one for our campervan cos it’s so good.

Press a lemon half into a disk!

Very efficient and comfortable to use. Not big enough for oranges but makes short work of lemons and limes without effort. Have the garlic press, potato Ricer and now the citrus press - big fan of the helix mechanism!

Excellent product. A bit bulky (for storage) but if you juice things regularly this makes things very easy and neat. Easy to clean. Very sturdy. Would recommend

Hard to use

I thought this juicer would make juicing easier, but for me, it is difficult to assemble and hard to turn. I don’t have any particular affinities with my hands, and have average strength for a female couch potato. It is currently in my gadget graveyard.

Lemon squeezing endurance champ!

This is handy for when my young son wants to help squeeze lemons! The old-school hinge one is too hard to squeeze and your hands get tired if you need a lot of juice for lemonade. So this is great!

Another Great JJ Design.

So heres a gadget I didnt realise i needed until I got it ! Another great design by JJ. Very easy to use . No mess, no seeds in your juice to strain out. Especially handy for those lemon drop cocktails on a Friday night.

Very glad I bought this as it doesn't stress my arthritic hands

It's perfect for lemons and small oranges but there is a learning curve with grapefruit. I cut grapefruit in small pieces and place one to three small pieces in the juicer at a time yet juice sometimes comes up over the top of the juicer, or stays in the juicer and needs to be tipped to empty it. I've tried placing the grapefruit pulp side down then up and it didn't make a difference. It's still the best juicer I've ever used, and I'll continue to use it for grapefruit.

Looks great not so practical

Great if you have the exact size lemon…. So far only 1 out of 4 have fit. It takes up quite a lot of room in the utensil draw. And while easy to use I feel it doesn’t get enough juice from a lemon. Great for limes! But very bulky

Best Feature(s):twist to squeeze

Love it!

We love this citrus press. It makes squeezing limes and lemons so easy compared to other models. It’s such a smart design. Joseph Joseph is an excellent brand, they make great products that consider the consumer experience.

Great for making margaritas

So easy to use and ergonomic. Perfect design. Lightweight. Goes straight into dishwasher. A must have item. Juices loads of limes quickly.

Lots of juice minimum effort!

AMAZING! Little effort required to juice oranges, lemons and limes. I’ve battled using other hand juicers but the Helix design makes the job so easy. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to use especially with ‘ageing’ hands.

Leverage

After I had to make a lot of effort with firm lemons with a usual press (hit the middle, press on the cone and turn at the same time), the press is better in Befdienung. Just like the garlic press, only bigger and different use.

The BEST gadget!

This is one of the best items I have ever purchased for my kitchen! I HATE messing about with juicing, and this makes it much easier! So far I have made great use of it using lemons and limes. Larger halves will not squeeze completely, but I just push the last tiny 'bump' with my fingers and its still easier than any other gadget I have used. No rind, pips or lumps get through, and the handles are effortlessly squeezed. This ROCKS!

Not that much better

I was so looking forward to this after the recommendation in Milk Street. After using it for a month, I wouldn't tell others to buy it. It does not thoroughly squeeze out the juice. I do oranges, lemons and limes and have to take out the partially squeezed fruit, turn it sideways and squeeze again. In addition, the sideways turn is only slightly easier than the down motion in the regular squeezer.

I highly recommend this product. Worth every cent.

I had the typical juicer where you press down to squeeze out the juice. I had to press so hard (I have tears in both my rotator cuffs) that I had to ask my husband to complete the job for me. This product is nearly 100% better! You still have to exert some pressure, but so, so much less. Love it!

does the job

I'm normally a big fan of Joseph Joseph but I found this juicer a bit clumsy to use. It's big and for me the twist method is not easier to handle than the regular press down juicers. Plus, the plastic is not particularly sturdy, we have managed to hurt one of the side pegs in the first week. Overall it does the job ok but I will probably stick with the regular juicer next time.

Must Have

Excellent and sturdy. Have to pull the right way to eliminate unnecessary strength. Some reviews states have to use lots of strength, true at my first try I used all my strength. But after few use I got the trick. Just pull toward in. Recommended.
