Very Short Service Life

This Korky 2-inch flapper valve failed (became a soft jelly) after 33 months in city water but no extra toilet tank cleaners. Would not seal properly with water continuously leaking from the toilet tank into the bowl. Hoping that a replacement Fluidmaster 502 flapper will give a longer service life.

Exact replacement for original Korky flapper in toilet. Not sure how old the original was, but the flapper material was disintegrating.
