We ordered this unit in May and had done so with the assembly option. The unit came quickly and we were scheduled for assembly shortly there after. I can only say don't rely on Angi to handle that because their part of this was a nightmare! It takes 2 people to assemble this unit and if they don't send 2 you'll be the 2nd person. After numerous calls with customer service (Wayfair) and with Angi we decided if we wanted this installed we'd have to be the ones to do it. My husband with medical limitations and 76 yrs old and myself, 75, spent 2 1/2 weeks assembling this and it was worth our hours of labor! This is a very nice unit..... heavy, sturdy and large enough cover 3/4s of our patio. If you're younger than us it'll take a couple of days and some basic building knowledge and a friend or two to do this but it's worth it! Wayfair's customer service was awesome and their pricing on this unit is very comparable to other dealers.
It is not 16ft
The gazebo itself is pretty sturdy. It took a long time to assemble the roof part and my husband almost decapitated me with one of the pieces of the roof that fell. The curtains were trash within less than a year. Tried to replace them with some outdoor shades I found. Bought two 8ft ones for one side and when I went to install they were way too long. Somebody was lying, so we measured the gazebo from the furthest part at the eave. The gazebo is the liar. It is 15 ft 10 inches
We love it! It is important to follow instructions and not tighten any roof bolts until totally assembled. Just takes time and patience, 3 people is ideal. Just lay out pieces and follow instructions. I had a rolling baker's scaffold which was very helpful. Still need ladders though. Only issue--which was NOT major was--the screen cover will slide out of the back of the track, so I just slightly bent the "opening" after it was in place. This kept it from coming out of the track. Overall very happy with it. Had 2-3 months and cover curtains work really well. Already been through several very rainy days.
Really improved our deck. Roof panels are challenging (even with the double side tape). Parts were well packaged. Some of the instructions were confusing at first because it is mostly pictures. It took three people 14 hours. We are in a high wind area so we reinforced the leg post by cutting a 4x4 post diagonally and sliding them into the legs. To speed things up we also put all the screws in small, individual labeled containers so we weren't fighting the plastic wrap packaging sheets they came on.
Beautiful Gazebo!!!
We purchased the 12’x26’ Alexander hardtop gazebo with a double roof because of the excellent wind resistance and snow load. 2 full days for my husband and I to erect. Customer service was fantastic and fast to send the curtain hanger we were missing. I would recommend a third person to help with the build. Watch the tube videos for complete instructions with helpful hints. Enjoying our shaded deck drinking coffee in the morning. Our pups love the shade. Great Gazebo!
5 Stars
I'm really impressed with this. All of the neighbors like to come and hang out by the pool now. I like it because I'm out of the sun, although, the metal does obviously get extremely hot in middle of summer days in the south. It has two "D" rings that currently hold my two clip-on ceiling fans. I've had zero issues with this. It is quite sturdy. Putting it together is an art form, and the directions are sufficient, but could be better. You must take your time and thoroughly read the directions to understand some if the nuances. All in all, it took two of us about 12 total hours to put this together. Now the neighbors want one!
Love these, curtain attachments could be bett
These gazebos are beautiful and sturdy, they have stood up to wind and snow with no problem, we attached ours to concrete. The curtains and netting are good quality, they have stood up to be whipped in the wind and have not torn or shredded. My only complaint is the piece that attaches the curtain and netting to the gazebo, is not not a hard enough plastic to stand up to the wind. It has blown the curtain of the tracks several times when closed. I would still recommend these, just know you might not be able to leave them closed when not using or to protect furniture.
Really LOVE this gazebo. It looks very nice, the curtains add an elegance, and it is very sturdy. We use it a lot. The size is perfect. It does take a long time to put together. There are so many pieces! It took my husband and my son two 8-hour days to complete. It was so worth it though. We really are impressed with the quality, appearance and design of the gazebo. It ever has gutters so the rain is directed away from the structure. Highly recommend this gazebo!!
I had it professionally installed and they did an amazing job. One complaint I heard from the workers was that many of the holes were not aligned so it took them longer than expected. The gazebo itself has withstand some strong winds. I've anchored the gazebo with only a screw per post. The drains have been working great with a few rain we've had. I couldn't keep the curtains and nets open, but that's because we get some strong winds in our area. I highly recommend this gazebo.
Assemble loose then tighten and Bob's your uncle.
LEAVE EVERYTHING LOOSE DURING ASSEMBLY. If you get nothing from my review, take that one thing. Everything, especially the roof assembly, will be way way easier if you leave things loose and tighten everything up at the end. Except the very top, roof panels, tighten those before starting the lower roof panels otherwise you won't be able to reach them. This unit is really great. It took me and my wife about 10 hours for assembly. It is sturdy and attractive. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. I was able to work under it during a light rainstorm, and didn't even know it was raining until I smelled it and looked up. With the bug net and the privacy screen, we have all sorts of options on usage. In the 100 degree days, you could feel the heat in the roof section as the panels heated up and radiated downward. A fan helps immensely. We've had a couple bigger rainstorms since then and there has been no leakage. I especailly love that we can finally leave the patio furniture and pillows out at all times instead of it having to clutter up my shed! I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a patio cover/gazebo.
This product is better than the few I have purchased and assembled before. There were very few issues with and it seems well designed and sturdy. Also the manufacturing quality was superior to what I was used to. So overall, I would likely have given it a 5 rating, hadn’t it been for two things. (1) when I placed the order I was told I would receive it within three weeks, but the reality was two and a half month. (2) the mosquito screens I received for the second roof appear to have the Velcro ends misapplied as they couldn’t be attached by overlapping, so I had to attached them by butting them half way. I do not think this was intended but it will have to do, as I am sure the manufacturer will not send some corrected screen sets. If that does not work, I will have to staple them together.
This gazebo is awesome. We have had it up for about 6 months now and it has transformed our deck space. The gutters work great with light to moderate rain and the item is high quality. There were a few minor leaks, but then again we may have made a few minor errors, but I just sprayed some flex seal on the outside on those screws and no more drips. I love the curtains, they really block sun, wind, and some cold when needed. We haven’t tried the screens yet but seem to be high quality like the rest of it. I use bungee straps at the bottom of the curtains around the posts to keep them from blowing up. I had a builder buddy and a couple other friends and we had it up with a light hung and the curtains attached in about 6 hours. I took some notes from other’s comments and a couple of us popped the z clips open with a chisel while the other two kept building. Just make sure to lay everything out and we used cups for all alike hardware. Our friends and us love it!!!
Very happy with our purchase. We read the reviews before...
Very happy with our purchase. We read the reviews before ordering and there seems to be a common thread with the poor instructions. I had 2 experienced friends that put this together over a weekend, about 14 hours total. Everything went smooth until they got to the roof. The spacers the go between the frame and the roof panels do not stay put when adding the panels. We fixed that issue by using double sided tape, once they did this the roof went together fairly well. The other thing is the pre-drilled hole not aligning, would be better to either pre-drill the frame or the panels but not both. This would allow the user to drill the proper holes for less-hassle installation. Other than what I mentioned, we love the looks and functionality of this product.
We are pleased beyond words with this beautiful hard-top gazebo. It is sturdy and well made, giving our deck area a very classy look. We chose to go for the professional set-up and installation through Wayfair...great move! It took two professionals about 8 hours to put the entire thing together. They had both had previous experience, so they really knew what they were doing. The rain curtains are a wonderful plus, keeping our furniture and pillows dry in even the hardest rain. We previously had a soft-top gazebo in the past, but three canvas tops later, this was a no-brainer!
Admittedly not quick to put together but if you have a day and some friends it is well worth the assembly… if it just popped up in two seconds it probably wouldn’t last that long. I use this this all year, I wanted to be able to sit out in the rain, snow or sun. Hung a little portable heater from the center in the winter and a fan in the summer. I’m in love with my backyard again. Minimizes the mosquito bites, The panels are great when the sun is coming from different angles or the wind. The construction is so sturdy I have a feeling this will last a very long time. After working from home for two years I realized how much I need to go outside every single day or else I will lose my mind, so yes, even in the winter I’m out there in my Snuggie and boots taking in some sunshine and enjoying the nature. I’m sure I will have to replace the panels every few years but so far so good. Worth every penny.
Four seasons
Love Love Love this gazebo!. Ordered to provide shade to an entrance on the side of our house. We were able to use it with a heater and propane fire pit during the winter and even put up a Christmas tree inside. The netting works great for keeping out bugs ad the enclosure curtains keep the rain and snow out as well. Our neighbors have a smaller one but ended up buying 2 as the size just wasn't enough. The 12 x 16 is able to have a full couch, loveseat, sofa table, end table, firepit, stand up heater and a Christmas tree with room for 3 dogs to lay as well! It does require some time to assemble however the directions are easy to follow but a second pair of hands is suggested and you should plan 3 hours to assemble with 2 people. I would recommend anchoring if in an open space and grounding if near a pool or water source. We did not have to do that as it is heavy and ours was protected from wind on three sides with house on long side, tall shrubs on one and fence on the other. Price if fair for the size and quality.
Glad I bought it
Delivery was straight into the garage in 6 boxes. directions said 2 or 3 people to build,
So, we received the gazebo in 2 separate boxes. The coupala cap was the only thing that was damaged and Wayfair was very happy to refund us over $250 for it. This certainly helped our bottom line for doing a deck project and gazebo. I had a couple friends come over and we assembled in 2 afternoons. There are a TON of screws and we found ourselves scratching our heads from time to time trying to figure out the directions. Let's just say you have to make it up as you go and have some mechanical experience. Definitely 2 people to assemble and 3 made it go faster as 1 person could prep the parts (roof panels) and have screws and nuts ready to roll. I would highly suggest you anchor the gazebo to the deck via underlayment of treated 2x6 or other under the deck. I used timberlocks 3" heavy duty screws to go into deck and would under deck to make sure it wasnt going anywhere....unless winds in excess of 60mph. I'm pretty confident it will stay up. We had severe thunderstorms and heavy rain for 2 days and not a leak under the roof. The rain gutters help move water to the legs but there is some standing water in the middle of the cross members. No big deal in my opinion as long as I dont feel a drip on my head while sitting under the main roof section. Next to-do's is to hang lights, our chandelier with remote controlled tea lights and rug under table. Next summer we'll get more lounge furniture to make it a bit more cozy.
