I put off assembling this glider because I just knew it was going to be a beast. And in reality, it was fairly easy and straightforward. I do have experience putting furniture together so this did help. There were 8 wood pieces, and the hardware. I did it by myself in about an hour, and that included reversing the oops(more about that in a sec). The parts fit together nicely, and once done I have a beautiful piece of furniture that I expect will last a long time. It is solid but not heavy. The style is simple but ornate. I love it. I did buy some exterior paint since it is in my west facing porch. So one thing to note, and maybe it was just a direction I just missed: when adding the last glider piece, the holes are spaced differently. The front hole is very close so make sure to use that one and not the one that is spaced further away. I made this mistake and when I rocked it did this rock-tip, because the weight wasn't distributed correctly. But awesome overall!!

We bought this glider for my 80 year old mom for mothers day. It is of superior construction and easy to assemble. She was beyond thrilled to have this in her small garden.
