Great solid shower door

great quality door - was concerned about the finish. I ordered the oil rubbed bronze and it looked black. I had great customer service with build.com and the representative from aston. They sent out a whole new accessory kit and I was able to have the shower door installed.

The finished installation is beautiful. Both glass panels are heavy and the door operates smoothly. I did not like the u-channel that secures the stationary panel to the wall. It is over one inch deep, made very thin material, and a plastic strip needs to be inserted into the channel to hold the glass tightly in place. We purchased a shallow u-channel from a glass supplier that holds 3/8 in glass tightly. We are having only a small amount of water escaping from under the sliding door during a shower but very tolerable. If you hire a professional installer who doesn't routinely install Aston doors, they need to READ THE DIRECTIONS. When carefully followed, your installation should go smoothly.

The Polished Chrome Aston Langham XL 56-60x80 inch Frameless Sliding door is absolutely beautiful. I installed this sliding door on a curbless shower and I did not use the threshold that came with it. The floor on my recently remodeled shower has a good slope that extends about 4 inches beyond the glass which will prevent any water that may escape from going elsewhere other than back to the drain. I am completely satisfied with this glass door and I will buy another one for my other shower when time comes. The quality of this door is above all the rest I have seen. Well worth the money.

This is the 2nd one of these we have bought for our house - delivery was quick and the install went smoothly for the first door. Will update review once the second door is unboxed and installed.

This shower door looks great. The feature that was very important to me at 74 years old was the 3/8 inch glass thickness at an age when many seniors are less stable on their feet and prone to falling.

2nd Review

My first review was 5 stars because I loved the look of the door so much. The installtion wasn’t too bad even though the door was extremely heavy. Took 2 pros to install. The heaviness of the door is why I’m doing a 2nd review. Less than a year later my beautiful door is having issues. A fastener popped off and won’t stay on anymore. Broke due to the weight. Not sure if it can be repaired. I still love it and would definitely purchase it again but I would suggest that the manufacture do more testing with the fasteners. Astetics are great but functionally and longevity are better

nice doors

Install was fine. They are nice looking and operate smoothly. Problem I’m having is when we take a shower water is escaping under the sliding door and bouncing over the metal strip that is supposed to retain the water. I end up with water on my floor and rug. If our handheld wand shower head hits the door it’s like a waterfall exiting the door. Not good. Plus i have repeatily tried contacting them by emails and phone calls without any response.
