This outlet was easy to install. No quality issues as far as the standard duplex receptacles, nor the USB Type A or Type C ports. All of them work as expected and the USB ports put out plenty of power for rapid charging USB devices. Only issues are that it can be difficult to populate all the ports at once, even with standard laptop and USB cables. Also when using this outlet to replace an existing standard duplex outlet and installing a wall plate (sold separately), the outlet and wall plate stick slightly out from the wall on one side where the old outlet did not have this issue.
Too large for outlet box
I wouldn’t recommend this receptacle. First problem is it doesn’t have multiple terminals, so it is impossible to wire in a series of receptacles. Second, it’s too wide for a normal outlet box, the terminals will come in contact with the box and in older installations the circuit will short out. Finally, it is too expensive. The convenience of specialty outlets doesn’t weigh over the 3 problems I mentioned.
USB-C port failed within six months
USB-C port worked just fine - for about six months, then died. Leviton has a well earned reputation for cheaply made products. This is another one. Despite that reputation I went and bought this product b/c it was readily avaialbe. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me many times over the years, shame shame on me. Never again. Goodbye Leviton.

Works extremely well and is fairly easy to install.
USB-C charges slower than USB-A
Bought this to charge my S23 Ultra. I do not use fast charging so this should have been sufficient. The USB-A outlet charges my phone at full speed for 5V. It is the same speed as my original Samsung Charger. However, when I connect to the USB-C port, the charge time increases drastically. The USB-C port is charging with less power than the USB-A port.
Combo usb-b and usb-c great addition to existing kitchen
As you know all of our devices; cell phones, tablets, ipods, etc, need to be charged using either a usb-b or usb-c so unless you have that built into your outlets you have to constantly find and use different adapters. I purchased 3 of these for my kitchen and they work great. I spent a little more using Leviton as opposed to a lesser know manufacturer, but you get what you pay for in quality. I highly recommend people to get both usb-b and usb-c so you will be able to handle all device applications.m
perfect charger for the new devices and older ones alike.
This is perfect for those of us with the newer USB C charging technology and for those of us with not so new tech. Charges just as fast as my original Samsung note 10 charger even handles my daughter's USB A to lightning charger just as fast as her normal charging brick. DO NOT BUY THIS TO CHARGE MACBOOK PROS!! As one reviewer went off on this plug's inability to charger their MacBook Pro. This is their fault for not knowing their product. Macbook Pros take a 60-85w charger. All in all, a great product and will buy again.
worthless, complete waste of money
Paid an electrician to install these new USB-C outlets in my house, to easily plug in and charge my new macbook pro, which only has USB-C ports. Well after all of that, plugged in my macbook, and this outlet isn’t powerful enough to charge it. Now I’m seeing the reviews, where people mention this, and I also see the weak responses from leviton, claiming that this outlet was never meant to charge items like a macbook pro, to which I ask, WHAT is the point of this product if it isn’t able to charge a laptop?? I don’t even know what other products exist that use USB-C exclusively except the macbook pro, so this outlet is a waste of time, space, resources and money. Outrageous!!!!

Keeps breaking
The USB-C port on this outlet keeps breaking. I've had to replace one of them twice now under Home Depot's permissive policy of exchanging without a receipt, but it's very annoying having to do so. Just had the other one I installed for another outlet break too, so now I have to make yet a third replacement. It's pretty clear at this point that Leviton didn't design the USB-C port to be able to tolerate very many insertions and removals.

As a replacement or upgrade for existing outlets or in new construction where GFCI's or AFCI outlets are not required, this provides the added convenience of built in Type A and Type C USB changing ports with output ratings (5.1A) that can handle most phones, tablets, or other similar rechargeable devices using USB type chargers. This unit is intended for use on 15A circuits but it does come in a version suitable for a 20A circuit and also in most typical receptacle colors. It also is constructed to meet tamper-resistant requirements to better protect small children and meet changing code requirements that are specifying that tamper-resistant receptacles be used in areas where small children are likely to play. The charging circuit electronics make this receptacle larger than standard outlets so it requires at least a full size single gang outlet box (3" by 2" by 2 1/2") and may not be suitable in a standard outlet box if there are lots of other wiring and terminations present. The outlet does provide for a single wire connection on a pair of side terminals or if more than one wire connection then back wire pressure connector terminations are provided. Good wiring instructions with illustrations are provided.

I installed the outlet in my workshop. It charges my phone fast. Faster than the 0.1 charger that came with the phone I think. I only have used th USB port so far. I have nothing compatible with the other. The charger port means I do not compromise access to outlets and I avoided having to add an additional outlet or some kind of plug in adapter. I would not choose black next time. As for the electrical outlet... well, it works exactly as you would expect a good quality outlet to work.

Overall the outlet is excellent. It is well built and rugged. The connection points for the wires are all on one side and allow the wires to come in from the back which makes it fit better in the outlet box and makes wiring easier. Also, the connection points for the wires are rugged and easily grip two #12 wires under each screw. The connection points for the wires are clearly labeled on the back of the outlet. They are marked hot and neutral (white) making it very clear which wire goes where.

This is like a standard outlet, with 2 additional USB charging ports. It was easy to replace an existing outlet. Before you even take off the outlet cover, find the Circuit Breaker for this outlet and turn it OFF. Test the outlet by plugging in a lamp that you know works and turn it on. If it doesn't light, test it on an outlet you know works (just to be safe) and if it lights, then continue. If not, get another light and rerun the test. Better be safe than sorry. Take off the cover plate, unscrew the mounting screws, pull out the outlet, and note which wires are connected to which screws on the outlet. Remove the wires and connect them to the same colored screws on this new outlet. I usually have 2 USB converters plugged into the outlet, now I connect the USB cables directly into the 2 USB charging ports, which frees up the 2 standard outlets. This is a very nice design. The ports work perfectly with my 2 iPhone 8's.

The decora style outlet has a nice finish to it. The color is crisp and clean. The outlet is almost an inch and three quarters deep (1-3/4") so make sure that there is plenty of room in the box for this device. The dual USB format is a nice feature that lets you choose multiple charging platforms. The side wiring is on one side so be certain to pay attention to the polarization. The wiring terminals are a compression type so there is no need to wrap the wires around the screws which makes for a quick installation. Very nice product, but very deep into the box. This device came with an oversize plate which makes up for some not so nice box cut outs. The tamperproof feature is great, especially with young children in the house.

This outlet has two grounded, polarized receptacles and a USB Type C and a USB Type A mini receptacle, each of which will charge your iPhone, iPad, e-reader, headphones, speaker or laptop at the fastest rate up to 5.1A if you use the latest USB cable. The USB Type C cable can be inserted up or down into the receptacle, either way. The outlet installs in a standard outlet box, though it will be tight if you have extra wire in there. It will not work as a split, half-switched receptacle, for it has only one set of connections. The hot black wire connection screw and the neutral white wire screw are clearly marked, and they require only that you insert a stripped wire and tighten — it’s not necessary to wrap the wire around the screw post. There’s also a green terminal for the ground wire. The outlet comes with a matching plastic Deocra face plate. The 125-volt receptacles are tamper resistant — you cannot insert a fork or knife or penny into one slot; you must insert a plug into both slots at the same time, a safety feature if there are young children about. This outlet lets you plug in two appliances and charge one or two electronic devices via USB cables. It’s easy to install, functional and handy.

Leviton has a winner in this multi-tasking receptacle! Keeping 2 outlets and fitting in the USB ports so that all can be used at the same time makes this extremely functional. Including the latest technology of a USB type C port, Leviton has produced a product that will be relevant for years to come, and the quality built into their products means it will last for years. The USB ports utilize 5.1 amp charging power so it is like having turbo charge speed taking less time to reach the full charge on 1 or 2 amp devices. Installation is extremely easy, so even a novice can install this, but if you do not understand how to safely work with electricity, please have an experienced installer do it.

Great for bringing technology into my new shop. Just rewired my "new" shop, upgrading from a couple of dodgy K&T circuits to modern code standards. The one thing that was bugging me was the need to have a power strip and wall wart adapters to power my phone which feeds the stereo (CD players don't like sawdust much). This solves the problem. I swapped this and a matching "ordinary" Decora outlet into the fourplex box in the back of my sawdust resistant computer/stereo/amp cabinet and ran type A hydra, and type C cables to a phone/tablet stand. The Type A fits all my devices. The Type C works with my kid's stuff. Now any of us can plug our tunes into the shop stereo. Now I can blast the shop with the Hamilton soundtrack, or the kids can play their freaking Vivaldi while doing their homework on my outfeed table.

Great duplex outlet to replace the standard outlet in my shop. Great to have a USB type A port and eliminate the charging block I used previously and then to have the USB type C port that I don't need yet but can be useful in the future as my electronic devices evolve is great. The markings on the back of the device insure that it gets wired properly as both the hot and neutral terminals are on the same side of the device, which is not usual with a duplex outlet. The device is a little larger than a GFCI outlet so it makes tucking the wiring into the electrical box a little more challenging but no problem for the experienced. I also like that it has tamper resistant duplex outlets with youngsters plugging in their cell phones and tablets at this outlet.
