At first I was skeptical

I ignored all of the negative reviews and decided to buy this product. It still had quite a few really good ones, well turns out I’m not part of the good review crew on this product. Had it running for about 3 total days from the moment I opened the box for it. Bought it late Monday afternoon after work and decided to unplug it and bring it outside to drain it since the humidity was crazy this week. Well now it keep popping the breaker on the plug, tried multiple plugs in the house but no good.

Air was out for a week the middle of summer in FL. I purchased this unit and borrowed another from a family member. Both of them together could not keep the master bedroom below 88 during the day. Or an average of 10 degrees below the outside ambient temperature. A smaller room it maybe could of kept up with but I doubt it. That seems to be what they are good for. Our dogs were not used to it so we ended up staying at the inlaws anyway. What was nice about this unit is we did not have to drain it every 5 hours like the one we borrowed. What ever system it uses to evaporate moisture actually works. After four days of running non stop it only had a spoon full of water. If you use the dehumidifying option you would have to hook it up to a hose though. I imagine it would create just as much water or more than the other unit.

It’s decent

It cooled the room well for 3 weeks but would stop blowing air for 20-30 min randomly. Then this morning it was beeping, buttons didn’t work, couldn’t turn the power off on the unit. I had to hard reset the unit by unplugging it. Once I plugged it back in the temp was set to 81 degrees and it wouldn’t stop beeping. Buttons still didn’t work either. I returned the unit this morning and bought a different model. I don’t recommend this model.

DO NOT PURCHASE AN AIR CONDITIONER FROM LG!!!!

Stopped blowing cold air after 2 weeks. LG said they would "exchange" it for new one. They will not bring it into my house(I spent $50 getting the first one in) and refuse to take the defective unit away (will cost another $100 out of my pocket).They are refusing to refund my money. They will leave the new air conditioner in my driveway in a few weeks (another $50 to get it inside). It is costing me $600 for a $400 ac that I can't use until next year.

Stopped working after 1 day

I picked up the unit at a Home Depot. I got it home, read the instructions, vented the hose out the window, and turned it to the cool and high fan settings for the AC. At first it worked, the air was cool and the exhaust through the hose was warm to the touch. However, by the second day it stopped giving off cool air. I assume the compressor broke. I called LG because they don’t want returns at the store. I spent 45 min on the phone while they made me run tests. Finally they agreed to a refund.

LG units are no longer good products

I purchased three portable AC units over the last 2 weeks and have tested them all in the same room.

Works but loud

Our old AC (different brand) decided to stop working and this unit was the only one available in this BTU size to pick up. It cools great, no complaints on the cooling. Keeps the room very comfortable; however it is quite a bit louder than our old one. Even in fan mode, on low, it’s loud. We definitely could not have this in a bedroom, but works fine in the living room.

Does not work

Purchased 5/26/24-Setup was fairly easy and unit began working right away. After 3 weeks, unit started beeping and stopped cooling. No error codes given. Would not shut off using remote or buttons, had to pull plug. Checked filters, drained water (there wasn't much and no warning that it needed to be drained). Let it sit for what ended up being 3 days before it began working again. Contacted LG and got no help. Stopped working again yesterday (7/9). Will be returning and getting something non LG.

Do Not Buy

This unit is a complete waste of time & money. I will never buy nor recommend a portable unit. Save your money, buy a window unit. Unit does not cool room and my room is 150 sq. feet. I'm finding that unit actually increases humidity in room on top of not cooling. Air is slightly cool even when set to lowest temp. oh, and be prepared, altho the manual doesn't indicate you need to hook unit up to drain hose you need a drain hose. Unit is very heavy . Not worth the money I paid for it. I'll be putting it in the trash this Friday and buying a small window unit for less than $150. The only reason for this purchase is my bedroom window is only 17" wide. Two years ago I couldn't find one to fit window. Save your money, skip the portable unit.

First power on, service request already made

Ordered the AC on June 22 (2024). Arrived on the 26th (UPS). Box was missing one of the straps to keep it together, so I was concerned. All parts appeared to be intact, so nothing there. BUT, when I fired it up this morning, it generates a LOUD rattle sound whenever using the 'cool' setting. Already filled out a service request on the LG web site, but that's not scheduled until Friday afternoon. Removing the filter panels didn't show me what was making the noise.

Should have trusted the reviews

Compressor stopped working immediately. It was weak at first, and then dead over night. That's right, it didn't even work for 24 hours.

BEWARE!!!! FILTHY DAMAGED PRODUCT SOLD AS NEW

Picked up our “NEW”air conditioner curbside. When we came home and opened it I cannot even describe our shock. This thing had paint and dirt all over it, sticky residue, water on top and side, HOLES drilled into the back of it, model number was different, no parts, no remote, no manual and BUGS came out of it. I cannot believe the store has no policy to check returns. Someone clearly bought this a/c and jammed their old destroyed one into this box returned it and got their freaking money back!

Stopped cooling after 53 hours

I purchased this product in store. Product produced cool air when in “cool” mode for first few days after install. I was rather impressed with quality and function initially. After about 53 hours of operation (according to app) the unit no longer produced cold air. I ran self diagnostic several times and no problems were detected. Will be returning to store in exchange for standard bulletproof window unit.

Way louder than the 52 decibels it claims

Pretty easy to setup. Works well. Sleek design and I like that it's black. but it's pretty loud. Even on the lowest setting it's loud. If you're within 15 feet of it you're unable to hear a movie playing on your phone or the TV properly. On the highest setting it sounds like an airplane taking off, it's laughable. I bought it because I have a horizontal sliding window and a traditional unit won't fit. I've only had it 1 day but will be returning it first chance I get. It's just too loud for a bedroom.

Relief at last

This is my fourth LG portable room A/C mostly because portable room A/Cs have a notoriously short life span. I live in the Miami, FL area and that is in the tropics. It gets dreadfully hot and humid in the summer. My bedroom, during that time, can get up to 100° F! My previous LG a/c was no longer working and I was suffering from the heat. I could find nobody to repair it, no refurbished units and a new one was basically unaffordable to someone on a strict budget. I had to buy this one. I am not sorry. I knew that LG portable room A/Cs have a couple of eccentricities so I was prepared. It's doing its job and that's what I needed. To the one who complained about it being delivered on its side - set it in the room you wanted but let it stand up for 24 hours before you use it and the refrigerant will even itself out. To the ones who complained about all the water that ended up all over the floor - that, too, is easy to solve. What I ended up doing was to buy a long plastic tube/hose just big enough to fit over the spigots on the back of the unit and hold them on with the same type of a clamp you put on your car engine hoses. I run the other end out of my bedroom window (I have sliding glass doors so they're at floor level) and drain off the water that way. Altogether I really like this unit.
