Very loud

The swivel feature is nice but that's the only thing positive I can say. It's expensive, very loud and does not cool 450 sq. ft. It's even louder on the low setting. You can't sleep with this running. And when it shuts off and turns on the motor is extremely loud and jerky.

I’d rather sleep in the heat ….

This unit is SO LOUD. Like beyond white noise. At start up and shutdown. It also raised my electricity bill by $60 in just two weeks of here and there use. Return on AC units is only 30 days (I thought 90) so I missed the boat unfortunately Find something better for less money.

Purchased to help with the summer heat and to use during a power failure. So far it is cooling our living room . My wife suffers from bad asthma and every little bit helps. Works as advertised.

Ratings on these portable A/C units are extremely flawed. The Ratings give you comparison but very basic and not very accurate. The power draw has not seemed acute either.

Not like my great 6 year old LG model

This new 14,000 BTU LG model is a joke. First of all if I set the thermostat any lower than 70 it will shut off and go back on rapidly, and then eventually freeze up the board where I have to unplug and thaw. Also, the fan cycles on and off continually rather than staying on like older models. This is extremely annoying when you were trying to sleep. The older models were far superior, I’m not sure what has happened to LG!?… Or is this poor performance a result of government DOE mandates?

Bad Quality!!! Bought this over 2 years ago and hardly used over 2 summers only. This unit does not work anymore and not cooling even after cleaning filters. Suspect a refrigerant leak. Service tech basically said that there's no replacement refrigerant and not worth to be serviced. Complete junk and not worth the purchase. Avoid!

Worst AC unit I’ve ever had!

We purchased this April 2023, used it for 3 months that summer and maybe a week this summer and the compressor blew. No help from Home Depot or from LG to give us our money back, a new AC or even a voucher. We are so disappointed as we purchased this unit for over $700 last year. Now we are out an AC during a heatwave. Do not recommend you waste your money on this unit.

Works well but overly optimistic specs

It's loud. Like the app. Remote sucks.

I'm not sure why this is so expensive. It's not exactly quiet. Owning this will make you feel a bit like you're on a trip to Europe in a 747. With a few carefully placed fans to help circulate the air you can cool down a pretty large apartment. Can't get the remote to work properly but the cell phone app is very reliable if you want to turn it on after you've been away and have your place cool upon your arrival. I like that it's got wheels so I can whip it into storage for the off season. The venting hose is awful looking - but all of these have the same one and it's easy enough to pop in and out of the window when I want to use it.

Shuts off by itself, have to unplug to restart

This new Model is TERRIBLE! If you are a fan of old LG portable AC units, do NOTbuy this one. It won’t let me keep the thermostat set lower than 75 degrees or it shuts off automatically and you must unplug to restart. If you set it colder it will work for a hour then, beep several times, then just stop working completely. Today my house was 77 degrees, when this happened, so I don’t believe it’s a freeze up issue (which will occur regularly if you want to use the low fan setting).

Bought this last year in Vancouver and brought it with me to Windsor. It is an amazing unit and I would recommend it to anybody that is looking for a portable AC unit. Easy to maintain easy install.Powerful unit.

LG 10000BTU Portable AC Unit

This product was delivered damaged. The box was taped up in multiple areas and looked like it was kicked off the delivedry truck. When the box was removed the styrofoam inside was so damaged it crumbled away from the AC unit. The whole right hand side was blown out and vent covers broken. It has been IMPOSSIBLE to get costumer service on the phone to discuss exchanging the unit. This unit is online order only and NOW it is weeks out to be delivered. So much for being prepared for the summer. 3 years ago we bought a fridge and due to the size my brother-in-law came to except the package while I was at work. The entire side of the fridge was damaged and the driver said “don’t worry, you’ll never see it”. WHAT???? Why would I pay full price for a damaged product??? Thankfully he said NOOOOO!

Easy install. The black color is a nice change in air conditioners.

Product was returned to the store as defective and store still put it back on the floor for sale. This product usually works well. I blame the store for this. We had to pack this one back up and replace it. Buyer beware, if the packaging looks wrong do not buy the item.

False description horible price

2nd sentence on the details say quiete. Home depot and lg should reconsider price and description. It is loud and vibrates the whole room. What a waste of $500 if it wasn’t so heavy i would be returning it right now. Don’t buy

Works Amazing!

We bought this during a very scorching heat wave this summer in BC. We have an approx 400-450sqft living room and the room actually got TOO cold. Works very well. It is a bit loud but I’ve never had another one to compare it too. I hooked it up to my wifi and the app works wonderfully. 100% recommend this product.

Don't purchase LG or any AC at Home Depot

I bought this product on May 2023, worked great when purchased. Used for few months until August, everything worked but wouldn't cool. I need an air conditioning but not the fan . Home Deport only asked us to contact LG directly and they can't assist us. Items only work for few months and can't used even one season :(

Very Satisfied, Would recommend

Very happy with this unit. Cools my living room easily. I've seen some reviews that complain about the noise, but I actually find it very quiet compared to my last portable A/C. As far as longevity of this product I can't say since I've only had it for 3 days now. I'm hoping it lasts. But as far as delivering what was promised it delivers. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Staying cool !

We R very happy with our purchase . Works great and has been cooling out living area very comfortably. The fact they we don’t have to constantly drain a water pail is a bonus ! I would definitely recommend this unit . My son has the unit and recommended it to us ! Glad he did.

Unacceptable Noise

This model will work very hard when cooling, result in producing an unacceptable noise. It will be acceptable IF the air conditioner can lower its power when room temp reach or below the target temp, but it DOESN'T, instead, this model will complety stop doing anything (including the fan and cooling) and wait until the room temp rise, then back to full power cooling, no so-called "sleep mode" for this model, my friend who advise me to buy LG's air conditioner was also surprise by that.
