Liberty 253 Sump Pump
Excellent sump pump, very well made and performs like it is supposed too! Reasonably priced.
Nice, well made pump. I am very pleased with the selection
I am using the pump as a basement sump pump. The Tether/wide angle float switch allows a good range of on/off for my pit. And the piggyback outlet allows me to drain the pit down to nearly nothing after storm events. The pump with a quiet check valve runs so quiet that I couldn't tell it came on when I was testing it with a garden hose. Great unit!
The One I Had Before
Brought one of your Pumps Model # 253 on 09/12/2018 and Installed it about 3 months ago. The Piggyback Tether Float went out can the Tether Float be replace. This one not so Good.
I would buy again.
Used as effluent septic pump. Works great with easy install.

Study What You Buy Before Placing An Order!
I have purchased sump pumps in the past from this company but this time I am disappointed what I received. This sump pump model has a untypical mounting procedure for the signal float that is a royal pain in the ass to set up. You basically need four hands to get this properly set, never seen anything like this and hope I never do again. Read the directions on this before you buy this pump and youll see what you are going to go through. Next, the base of the pump is not open all the way around its circumference for the water to come into the pump housing. You now have a small center hole in the base surrounded with several more smaller holes for the water to come in. Gone is where the sides of the pump were open to allow water to enter. I can see this set-up getting clogged and gunked up versus the other style of pumps where the entire base is open. With the old style, you never had to worry about the screened opening getting clogged up, this new model is questionable at best. I would suggest to stay away from this model and get one where the entire base is open for allowing water into the pump. Also check on how the set-up of the signal float is performed. Right now the pump does work, and its quiet. Its just that I could never recommend this pump with only two things that are acceptable.

Good quality pump. Works great
Looks Like A Good Solid Pump
With all the rain in our area, the Liberty pump has been working overtime. No problems so far.
Extremely Quiet
This is an excellent American-made pump. It is extremely quiet. I wish I wouldn't have gone with the tether switch as my sump pit isn't quite big enough. I made it work. My poor choice is not the fault of the seller. Quick shipping too!
Very Impressed With This Pump. Great Workmanship.
Just what I needed. Quality American made pump. Not like those CHINIA made pumps in the box stores.
Smooth as Silk
Very well made / heavy duty pump. I installed it as my primary sump pump and replaced the leaking "big box" check valves with two Zoellers. The pump and check valve combination is extremely quiet and runs as smooth as silk. My battery backup pump is an old Rule 2000 bilge pump. One of the reasons I purchased the model 253 was the option of unpluging the tether switch cord and running the pump directly, on manual. With a sealed sump, this enables me to quickly test the operation of the unit without the hassle of removing the cover.
Fine, Good-Quality Pump
Installation and first month of use met all expectations. Quality of construction appears better than average. Very quiet.
Excellent Value EZ Installation
This is a good product, and well priced. It fit easily within a 14" basin, and works effortlessly. I recommend.
Runs Quiet and Well Built
So far, so good, but I have only had the pump for a month. Working as it should. I'll make another review in three years at the end of the warranty period.
Great pump
I bought this to replace an old pump with a sliding float that rusted off. This has the tethered float switch that is attached with the rubber insulated feed wire. It installed very easily and, I assume, will last a lot longer than the old one. When I tested it the only way I knew it was pumping was that the water level went down because it was so quiet I couldn't hear it run. Liberty Pumps requires a sales receipt with the model and serial number from the vendor in case of warranty issues, however, Sump Pump Direct does not provide this. I can only hope that Liberty will accept the receipt as is even though they say they require the sales slip with the model and serial number. Other than that, dealing with Sump Pump Direct has been fast and satisfying.
