New American Standard installation

So fat so good, though it seems that fecal waste clings to the bowl on the initial flush necessatating additional cleaning of the bowl.

I like my American Standard Cadet Pro 2 piece 1.6 gpf Single Flush Round Toilet . It replaces a very old American Standard toilet. Because I am getting older, I especially like the chair height feature for comfort. The 1.6 gallon per flush was what sold me on buying it. I like that extra flushing power. For me it was worth the extra cost. Because I have some experience I installed it myself. However, it is heavy and awkward ,so make sure you can handle this if you decide to install it on your own. Overall I hope to have many satisfying years with my new toilet.

POOR WORKMANSHIP/QUALITY CONTROL

My favorite toilet until . . .

This toilet flushes perfect and uses minimal water. It is very well designed an was my favorite toilet until the tank developed a crack and leaked. In my 50+ years, I've never had a tank crack that way. Aside from this defect, the toilet is fantastic!

Great Customer Service

I am the Maintenance Director for a Nursing Home is Texas. We had a problem with the tank on this unit and American Standard took care of it. You could not ask for better support even after the unit was in service for some time. Thanks to all for producing a cost effective, right height and low gallon per flush toilet.

Right Height

Didn't know if I would like the taller toilet, after more than 30 days of use, I prefer this height! Will definitely update my other toilets to this product.

Not a strong flush

I just had this toilet installed. Water pressure is very low and not enough water cleans the residue. Maybe because not enough water fills the bowl. I have had the the incoming water pressure checked and all the other checks and still the problem persists. Flushing twice sometimes clear the residue and if that does not work then I have clear with a paper towel. My old toilet didn't have this problem. I might have to go buy another toilet now and spend more money.

Great flushing power

We love this toilet. No more clogs. It flushes much better than other toilets. It is able to handle a large capacity. Great!

Junk

Leaking flapper seal and runs every few minutes. Only one year old and we have good city water. Paid too much to have problems this early.

Cadet 3 Right Height

I have installed three of these toilets, two in one home an done in a vacation home, all have the same problem, does not have a swirl or enough water coming down the sides front and back to clean the residue off. I have checked the incoming water pressure and all the other checks and still the problem persists. Sometimes flushing twice might clear the residue and if that does not work then I have to use a a brush. This negates the 1.28 gal flush to save water. My other old toilets with higher volume flushes do not have this problem. I cannot recommend this toilet. If i replace another toilet i will be looking at other brands.

Excellent flush

Installed this toilet 2 months ago and it works well. Very happy with the powerful flush. I like the 3 inch flush valve. I have used lots of toilet paper and the flush is excellent. Another plus is that the toilet tank fills in 35 seconds.

Perfect size and color. Great price

I bought this toilet about 3 months ago. It is the perfect size for my small bathroom. Recently when cleaning I noticed a crack in the bowl. I contacted American Standard and I had my replacement bowl within a week. Great customer service. Would have given 5 stars if I would not have had to reinstall.

Unglazed porcelain is a VERY BAD THING !

American standard doesn't glaze the porcelain under some of there toilet seat rims . This open porcelain WILL ABSORB the spray of urine from females . And after two or three years it will stink very badly . Clean it will only be a very short term fix . So before buy a toilet make sure it is 100% glazed .
