Light cast iron skillet

So much lighter than traditional cast iron. I have some physical disabilities and cannot lift anything heavy. This skillet is light yet cooks the way one would expect cast iron to perform!

Well-made skillet!

The Lodge skillet is well-made and should stand up to years of use. It should work well for eggs and other frying chores. I am pleased with it.

These are the best!

Bought two for myself (10 %26 12 inch) and liked them so much I bought two for my son. I have a wide selection of cast iron and some non-stick, these beat them all, really "Go to"! Not heavy, virtually non-stick, easy to clean (no dishwasher), even heating great on the stove or in the oven. Very versital, can be used for anything! The availability of glass lids would make them perfect.

Incorrect pan

It was cast iron, not carbon steel. The other carbon steel pan I have is smooth. This one is textured like cast iron.

Poor shipping

Shipped poorly, item arrived in a large box about 3 times the size of the pan, and wrapped in one sheet of construction paper like material. The pan now has the slightest dent, and the seasoning has chipped off the pan. I won't return it because I can reseason it, but the shipping material is frustrating nonetheless.

Disappointed

I expected to receive a lightweight carbon steel product similar to my 14 inch carbon steel wok (not a lodge product). Very heavy weight, so much so that i have a suspicion that is is just another cast iron, not carbon steel. product. Furthermore, the sufface where the food goes was not polished to any kind of smoothness, so I used my tools to do that.

Lodge Skillet, Carbon Steel 12"

Great product. I am a big fan of carbon steel. I like the fact that it is made by lodge (American made) and that is competively priced and of very high quality.

Disappointed

It is a little heavier than I thought it would be and fairly shallow. The handle is horribly uncomfortable.

Love these skillets!

Started with a 12" and loved it so much I got the 8" for smaller things. Great products and lighter than cast iron.

Quality:Looks great and weighs like a lodge pan

I have two of these 8-inch skillets as well as a 10-inch. They have properties very similar to cast iron (cooking and cleanup) with less weight. The long handle is a nice feature as well.

This pan is amazing! Gets hot really quick, I think faster than my copper pan, and much quicker and hotter than my other lodge cast iron pan. A few scuffs on the pan but after seasoning it looks ready to start cooking. Can't wait to try when I have steaks.

Best pans ever

I decided to upgrade my pans from a larger cast iron after getting a new induction cooktop. Right out of the gate, these were truly nonstick without any additional seasoning (tested with chicken parmesan & fried noodles). I have not observed any warping that some other people experienced. When I picked up the box with the 10" and 8", I thought they only gave me one pan in the box because they're much lighter than the cast iron pan. Highly recommend these .... They're also made in the USA!
