I purchased this item in January 2024. Today, September 29, 2024 I cooked food for my family in this item. When the food was done, there was a dark black substance coming off of the top and dripping into the food. I attempted to clean the top with a sponge multiple times and a black substance continued to show up on the sponge and a clean white paper towel when I wiped it. I then took the food out of the pot and cleaned the pot. After multiple washes, the pot itself when dried started to wipe out black on a white paper towel also. It also reeked of an iron smell. I attempted to oil the pot to see if that helped and nothing. I came back to Target for a refund or exchange but it is past the return window. Money wasted. Don’t purchase unless you like eating black paint.

I have been using a smaller dutch oven and now am happy to have the 7 Quart version.

My First Lodge Cast Iron Dutch Oven Is A Giant Winner. After Washing It Up I Used It For A Giant Roast With Numerous Veggies And Spices. It Came Out Just Perfect. Meat Was So Tender And Veggies Done Perfectly. Can Hardly Wait To Use It Again Maybe On A Chicken.

I Ordered a Dutch oven a few weeks ago ago, it is just like one that my mom had for over 60 years. They cook the best pot roast. The tight lid and the weight of the pot helps make the roast so tender. I will get a lot of use out of it

I brought this Lodge cast iron Dutch oven for baking sour dough bread. The bread cook beautifully. . I’ve also used it for curries, they cook beautifully as well and it’s so easy to clean . It’s perfect for my kitchen.

We purchased this Lodge cast iron Dutch Oven so many years ago and it’s still just like new! Proper care keeps it perfect for years. Never put in dishwasher. We use this to make soups and sauces - I sauté onions and veggies right in it before adding soup stock. It’s a great size to she a meal for the whole family. It is heavy and sturdy.
