Sent a defective sink by 3rd party vendor to Lowes

I ordered this Elkay sink expecting quality for the $467 dollar purchase but what I received was a sink with manufacture defects. This sink was delivered inside a box with no sign of dropping BUT the box was not heavy and structurally strong enough to have been used to ship a sink of this size and weight and the seams were stressed and the 4 inadequate cardboard "placeholders" to maintain the sink in the middle of the box were floating around in the main box. One of the sink corners, the back right corner, has two creases in it. These look like it was manufactured that way - not dropped in shipping - as there are stresses in the metal that caused discoloration in the corner and on the center backwall of the sink. It appears that this is a 2nd, not what Elkay would ship to customers; it wouldn't have passed QC. The product was shipped from plumb source, Frostproof Florida, not Elkay. I have been on the phone with Lowes for over 30 minutes not awaiting resolution so my remodel can be finished so I have a sink. I will update this review as the issue is resolved. Lowes has now answered and a CS has documented case for me to return/reorder product at local (1.5 hours away) Lowes store. Now stuck with trying to get another sink in for countertop fittings and finishing project. I didn't realize Lowes would be using a 3rd party vendor, not Elkay direct who Should Be the vendor, or I wouldn't have ordered.

GOOD, SOLID PURCHASE

This sink is a good depth and the widest sink as I could get given the space constraints of my cabinetry. I am a little disappointed that it doesn't shine as much as I thought it would.

Excellent choice for a 30" sink base.

Most sinks this size are deeper, which is not good for a person's back AND have the drain in the middle. By putting the drain to the left or right, one is able to place a large pot in the sink without covering the drain and disposer. Do be aware, that since the water has further to travel, the last 1/8" of water takes a little longer to get to the drain. All in all, a great choice to think about.

Love this sink!

This is the second kitchen we installed this sink in b/c we absolutely love it! We got the left side drain b/c it allows us to have a garbage pullout under the right side of the sink - not sure why more sinks don't give this option. It looks good and has stood up well to daily use. We also bought the grid for the bottom of the sink and we love the look of that feature. If we remodel for a third time we won't hesitate to buy this sink again!
